Summary
“ Drags enemy troops to its center while dealing damage over time, just like a magnet. A big, swirling, Tornado-y magnet. Doesn’t affect buildings.”
The Tornado is unlocked from Arena 5 (Spell Valley). The Tornado pulls all troops to its center, damaging them in the process. The Tornado is excellent at pulling troops in to hit them all with splash attacks and activating you King Tower early.
Strategies for using Tornado
The Tornado has the biggest potential out of all of the small spells in the game. It has almost an infinite set of uses and can drastically turn the match in favor. Here are some of the major uses of the Tornado.
Grouping up units so they can hit by splash attacks is one of the most common uses of the Tornado. Common pairings include Tornado and Executioner, Sparky, Wizard, Ice Wizard, and Large Spells. These strategies are very useful for defending pushes with multiple units. Make sure to line the units up correctly so units like the Executioner can hit all of its targets. However, death damage from Golems or Giant Skeletons can also be used to kill large groups of units. When playing Splashyard, Tornado is used to pull defending units onto the tower so splash units can hit the tower and the units. Always be looking for opportunities for where you can pull units on the enemy’s tower to hit both.
Activating your King tower with the Tornado is a great way to give yourself a major advantage. Many units can be used to activate the King tower, especially when you use and Ice Spirit or Skeletons to pull them to the middle first. There is a great guide to specific placements here. When activating your King Tower, it is important to account for the amount of damage that gets done to your Princess tower. Sometimes, it is better to just counter the attacking units.
The Tornado can also be used to pull away units. This can be used along with siege units so they target your opponent’s tower. Also, if your opponent repeatedly tries to kite your pushes, you can pull these units into your lane to prevent the kite.

Matchups
The Tornado is excellent against Graveyard, Goblin Barrel, and Miner since an activated King Tower can prevent most of the damage that they do.
