The Electro Dragon is a 5 elixir flying card that moves and attacks at a slow speed. Its attack can hit 3 targets and stuns and damages them.
Strategies for the Electro Dragon
The Electro Dragon is very effective as a support troop in beatdown decks, primarily Golem. Although its three target attacks are not a splash attack, it can take out Minions and Bats and other smaller swarms easily. However, its main purpose as a support unit on offence is to stun troops, helping to retarget if the cards are played properly, and stopping Inferno Dragon and Inferno Tower easily. This has led to a rapid decline in these cards’ popularity.
However, its relatively slow move speed and hit speed, along with its mediocre HP, means it does not serve much purpose outside of beatdown.
Because of the Electro Dragon’s unique three target attack, it can be used to take out troops like Archers behind a Knight or Rascals very easily. Keep in mind that damage not used on other targets is not stacked unlike an Electro Wizard, so only use the card on defense when there are enough troops where you can get sufficient value. You will ideally need to pair the Electro Dragon together with a high damage unit for maximum potential.
How to counter the Electro Dragon:
Any ranged single unit like Musketeer or Mega Minion can take out the Electro Dragon easily. It can be countered by many cards. Swarms are less effective.
A small tip when facing Electro Dragon: When it is coming down your lane, placing a troop equidistant from the Princess and King tower will cause the Electro Dragon to target all three, activating the King!
