Royal Ghost Guide

Clash Royale Royal Ghost

Summary

“ He drifts invisibly through the Arena until he’s startled by an enemy… then he attacks! Then he’s invisible again! Zzzz.”

The Royal Ghost is unlocked from Arena 12 (Spooky Town).  The Royal Ghost has a, unique invisibility trait that allows him to float through the arena completely undetected until he moves to attack enemy units. When he does, he hits hard with a small splash attack that is good against swarms.

Strategies for using Royal Ghost

The Royal Ghost’s invisibility can be incredibly useful, and disastrous at the same time. On offense, he is able to approach ranged units and the tower without taking any damage. But on defense, he passes enemy troops right by. Using the Royal Ghost effectively requires you to balance both of these attributes.

On offense, the Royal Ghost can be a threat to a multitude of cards. His splash damage makes him capable of taking out swarms, while he can also sneak right up to ranged units. This makes him quite a threat against multiple types of units. He is typically used as a support troops behind a tank to take out defenders, but he can also do devastating damage when left alone.

Defensively, the Royal Ghost can be effective against small pushes but requires precise timing so he emerges from his invisibility at just the right time, or can be placed right on top of the attackers so he draws their attention. Trying to pull units with him will result in him just floating away. Even though he is invincible, the Royal Ghost can still be affected by spells.

It can be very hard to defend against the Royal Ghost. His invisibility makes ranged troops ineffective, his splash counters swarms, and he has decent damage to go along with it. You have three main options for dealing with the Royal Ghost.

  1. Use a more powerful melee troop. A prime example of this is the Prince or Mini-Pekka. These cards are the main counters for the Royal Ghost. They output way more damage due to Royal Ghost’s slow attack speed.
  2. Use a mini-tank and ranged unit. A combo such as the Ice Golem and Musketeer are an ideal combo for taking care of the Royal Ghost.
  3. Using a tank killer, like Hunter, is another way to take care of the Royal Ghost. Although they will take a decent amount of damage, they are viable in the worst-case scenario.
