Inferno Tower

Clash Royale Inferno Tower

Summary

“ Defensive building, roasts targets for damage that increases over time. Burns through even the biggest and toughest enemies!”

Inferno Tower is unlocked from Arena 4 (Pekka’s Playhouse). Inferno Tower is a single target building that deals damage that scales up the longer it stays on its target.

Strategies for using Inferno Tower

The Inferno Tower is the ultimate tank-busting machine. However, it carries a large degree of risk. If your opponent is able to reset, destroy, or distract the Inferno, you will be in big trouble. It is crucial to have a backup plan and good center placements. Also, most of the decks that run Inferno Tower are bait decks. Therefore, it is good to remember if your opponent has Zap in rotation, and that you try to bait it out with a Goblin Barrel beforehand.

When using your Inferno Tower on defense, it is important to have a backup plan. Against Giant decks, you need to make sure that you watch out for Zap. It can reset your Inferno Tower and make it useless. Against Golem and Lavahound decks, you really need to prepare for Lightning. Because it is an expensive card, most of the times you will know if they are going to use it. Make sure to not give your opponents value by putting cards like Musketeer or Princess. Also, you can place it in the anti- Lightning position, which is one tile on the other side of the map and all the way up to the river.

It can be very frustrating to play against an Inferno Tower user when you are trying to push with high-health cards. Having a 6,176 health Golem melted in seconds can be rough. To stop the Inferno Tower, you can:

  1. Reset The Inferno
    • Using Zap to reset the Inferno tower back to its minimum damage is one of the most effective ways to take care of an Inferno Tower
    • Other troops that can reset the Inferno Tower are Zappies, Electro Wizard, and Electro Dragon
      • When defending, it is crucial to isolate these troops and destroy them
  2. Distraction
    • By placing another card in front of your tank, you can protect it and keep it from hitting it
      • A great example of this is using Minions with Royal Giant
      • This is one of the reasons why you place your Inferno Tower against the side of the arena
    • Cards like Goblin Gang or Skeleton Army are also viable
  3. Using Heavy Spells
    • Lightning is one of the best Inferno counters because it can take out and reser the Inferno, take out supporting troops, and damage the Princess Tower
    • Rocket can also take out the Inferno, but it is a negative trade so you want to hit another unit or hit the Princess Tower

Matchups

Inferno Tower is very useful against heavy decks such as ones featuring Giant, Golem, and Lava Hound. It struggles against decks like Miner or Mortar Cycle. Against other bait decks, you probably won’t end up using it.

Replacements

You could replace Inferno with other defensive buildings, but none offer the same tank-busting potential as the Inferno Tower. If you replace the Inferno Tower, you might want to add some additional tank-busting support.
