Tornado – The Advanced Guide!

clash royale tornado spell

Throughout multiple Clash Royale metas, Tornado has been always a great card to have in literally almost any deck.

Due to the special ability of this card, we can do tons of stunning moves, gaining positive Elixir trades and more.

In this page, we are going to show you the best uses of it.

clash royale tornado spell

Drags enemy troops to the center of the Tornado while dealing damage over time. Doesn’t affect buildings.

Clash Royale Tornado Spell

Summary

  • The Tornado is unlocked from Arena 6 (Builder’s Workshop).
  • This card is a 3 Elixir arena damage spell with moderate damage and a wide radius.
  • The Tornado pulls troops (only troops) towards the center of the spell, making them vulnerable to splash damage. While being pulled, units are still able to attack.
  • The Tornado doesn’t damage buildings at all so you don’t need to worry about triggering the King’s Tower when using it.

Strategy

Tornado or Zap?

After some recent balance changes in Clash Royale, our beloved Tornado got some great indirect buffs.

Tornado is now a great alternative to Zap because it:

  • Kills Goblins (Zap no longer can do this). Although this is a negative Elixir trade, do it in the really bad cases.
  • Can pull Goblins from the Goblin Barrel off the Tower, to trigger the King’s Tower. The same thing goes to Hog Rider, Giant etc.
  • Can counter Minion Horde with the help of the Crown Tower.
  • Can bring the Princess in the range of your Tower. Let’s make her taste her sister’s arrows.
  • Kill any Zap-bait troop without assistance: Fire Spirits, Skeleton Army, Goblins, Spear Goblins, Goblin Barrel etc.

Zap is only better at resetting Inferno/Princes/Sparky/etc and dealing damage to Towers.

Below are the best uses of the Tornado

  • Defend a target: Elite Barbarians are coming towards your Wizard? Hold them away from your Wizard while he is mowing them down.
  • Bunch things up: Princess, Ice Wizard, Wizard and any other splash damaging unit love the Tornado! While keeping the enemy troops away from yours, Tornado is also grouping and dealing damage on them, making the most of your Princess, Ice Wizard etc.
  • Deal Damage – Tornado can kill Skeleton Army and put Minions into 1-hit HP. This is probably one of the less useful aspects because there are so many cards doing this better.
  • Force a re-target: Want to force the opponent’s Hog Rider, Miner, Golem, Giant, Lava Hound etc to target your King’s Tower? Yea here you go!
  • Force on target: The opponent’s Barbarians trying to stop your Hog Rider from landing the last hit? Pull them to the back with Tornado!
  • Get extra damage done: Keep the enemy troops far enough so your Inferno Dragon or Inferno Tower can deal tons of more damage!
  • Change order of attack: Assuming that your opponent sends in a Royal Giant and a Mega Minion but your Tower target the Royal Giant instead of the Mega Minion. Use Tornado to pull them away! Due to their different movement speeds, the Mega Minion will be hit by the Tower first.

You are doing it wrong

Don’t use Tornado to force the Miner to activate your King’s Tower more than once!

Tornado is one of the best spell in Clash Royale. Keeping doing that is such a waste. Take a look at many cases I listed above.

Your Tornado Decks should have splash damage. Also, don’t leave this ridiculously OP defense out of your arsenal.

Things you may not have thought of

  1. If you glue your opponent’s defenders to his Tower, your Princess can hit them all at least twice.
  2. Hog Rider can be yanked to the middle and killed quickly without doing a single hit to the Tower.
  3. Split pushes can be yanked to the middle.
  4. While dealing with Royal Giant Deck, If your opponent trying to take out your second Tower by placing the Royal Giant in the middle, pull him away so that he will target the King’s Tower instead.
  5. Use Tornado to help your Inferno Dragon do a lot of more damage and deal with the distractions
  6. Elite Barbarians locked on your Tower? Pull them to the King’s Tower or yank-and-insert your Guards to tank.
  7. Tornado can be also used to split your opponent’s Elite Barbarians! Tornado them to the center then use Ice Spirit.
  8. Always try to pull huge pushes to the middle so both of your Towers can join the fight.
  9. The Royal Giant can be pulled away for 3 seconds while getting hits by your defenders, preventing him from doing 2 shots.
  10. Balloon can never hit your Tower If you have Tornado in your Deck.
  11. Clump defending troops to the Tower so your Sparky can remove them all at once.
  12. Pull the Lava Hound to the middle so your Towers won’t get hit while the Lava Pups also activate the King’s Tower. Even If the opponent’s Miner is soaking damage, you still have 2 Towers (including the King’s Tower) defending.

Basic uses

  • Pull Hog Rider, Giant, Golem etc to your King’s Tower. Just place the Tornado 1-2 tiles from the King Tower, in the center.
  • Switch a unit’s lane when it’s near the center. (Pull 3 Musketeers etc)
  • Kill Princess/Clones for an equal trade.
  • Pull back defending units placed behind the Tower, prevent your troops from being distracted.
  • Group/Hold units to make the most of your Price/Ice Wizard/Inferno Tower/Wizard/etc.
  • Pull the opponent’s support troops to prevent their damage while his tank is being dealt with.
  • Decent counter to Graveyard.

It pulls all units, both air and ground, regardless of their weight. It doesn’t kill anything stronger than the Goblins, meaning it can’t kill Minions.

Tornado can’t pull ground units over the river but flying units.

Since P.E.K.K.A and Golem load time are pretty long, you can easily use Tornado to pull them to the other lane If they are near the center.

The Tornado can pull units which are not walking (being loaded).

You can take the advantage of this to pull the Giant attacking your Tower to the center, force him to attack the Cannon:

But if the unit is already walking and you try to pull it away from where It wants to go, it will resist the Tornado. However, if you pull it towards its intended destination, it will be pulled significantly faster. Use this wisely in different situations.

This spell seriously counters Miner. If your opponent plays the Miner like below, use your Tornado to force him to activate the King’s Tower:

Other tips:

  • When the Inferno Dragon is locked on your Tower rand you don’t have Zap/Lightning, use Tornado to pull him away.
  • If your opponent uses the Pig push to bypass your defensive building in the center, use the Tornado to counter his move.
  • If your opponent uses the Tornado on defense, take the advantage of this by using Hog/Giant to speed them up.
  • Tornado doesn’t break Prince’s charge or Sparky’s charge.
  • You can pull the Royal Giant far away from your Tower, force him to attack the other building (see more in the video below).

A Cannon’s Dream – A Clash Royale Fanfiction (Episode XIV Updated)

7

Hey all! It’s Scarlett here, and as some of you may have heard, I am starting a new fanfiction series! This is my first fanfiction on Clash Royale, titled “A Cannon’s Dream”, and I really hope you guys will like it, as I literally spend hours each day writing it. I am still in the process of writing the story, and I am going to post them episode by episode. I’m not sure how many episodes there will be in total, but I will try to keep you guys up to date on this stuff. Well, hope you enjoy… 🙂

A Cannon’s Dream: Episode I

They created me from pure iron, perfectly polished, and packaged me inside a tiny silver chest. I was cramped pretty tightly, but I didn’t care, because I knew this was all part of my destiny. There was a paper taped to my back that read:

Defected Cannon: My apologies, we accidentally made a minor error in Danny’s programming. He has proved in our experiments to be highly intelligent for his kind, and unlike all other cannons, he actually has a brain, feelings, and emotions. We tried hard to turn him back into a normal cannon, but after several failed attempts, we couldn’t fix the bug.

Sincerely,

Stephen Supercell

This note kinda disturbed me, but it also complimented me at the same time. I was soon shipped to a stone castle, where a King opened the chest that I was trapped inside and carefully lifted me up and out of the chest. He read the note taped to my back silently, and smiled even harder. Beside the King were two princesses, who I believe were his daughters. I could tell by his joyful grin and his cry of delight he was happy to see me, and I couldn’t help but feel the same. After all, I had finally found a master.

“Welcome to the castle, Danny. I am King James IV, and these,” he said, pointing to the Princesses, “are my daughters, Hannah and Holly. Follow me, Danny, and I will lead you to your first practice battle.” King James motioned for me to follow him and led me through a narrow hall leading to a door which he slowly pushed open. I walked outside the door and was excited to see that I had been led to an area with fresh air, where the grass was so green and the sky so blue. Six stone towers were ahead of me, three coated in red and three in royal blue, and a red banner that read “Training Camp: Trainer Basil VS JamesTheGreat” was held high above the trees. Hannah and Holly each occupied one of the two smaller towers coated in blue, and the biggest tower was located between them.

I also saw a few friendly creatures sitting on a bench behind the biggest tower, including a scarlet-haired girl holding a double-bladed axe, a man with a mohawk sitting on the back of a pig,  a purple-haired girl wearing a metal helmet, and four bony skeletons. The king told me to sit with them on the bench, and I quickly listened, knowing that he was my one and only master now. I sat next to the pretty girl, with the solid metal helmet, purplish curls, and a musket held tightly in her arms.

“Hey,” she said, waving at me. “Call me Violet.”

“Hi Violet, I’m Danny.”

“So the rules of the match are simple; we have to destroy the towers coated in red while protecting our own. Also, don’t worry about the elixir payments and that stuff; King James will take care of that. So this is the Training Camp, obviously, as I’m sure you can read the banner. Basically, King James takes us here to test our skill, and if he sees potential in you, you might just get the chance to battle in the Builder’s Workshop, in which I’m sure you will get the chance to,” Violet explained.

“What’s the Builder’s Workshop?” I asked in confusion.

“Oh,” she smiled. “That’s the name of the Arena we battle in. When we win a battle, we gain trophies, but if we lose, we lose trophies too. One day, I believe we will collect three-thousand trophies and be able to fight in the Legendary Arena, which is located on a floating island!”

I may have been a little over excited when I heard that I would have a chance to show my skill and possible battle in the Builder’s Workshop, for there was such a high possibility that I would screw up and ruin my biggest chance. Violet also introduced me to two of her friends, Scarlet and Joe, and she explained that she was a Musketeer, Scarlet was a Valkyrie, and Joe a Hog Rider.

“Wassup, Danny! You ready for your first battle in Training Camp?” Joe asked me.

“Yeah, I guess, but I’m a bit nervous,” I admitted.

“Everyone’s nervous at their first battle. Hear that, Scarlet?” Joe laughed.

“I. Will. Throw. My. Axe. At. You,” said Scarlet with a don’t-mess-with-me tone.

“Oh, she’s always been cold with me. What I mean, Danny, is that during her first battle, she was so nervous that she dropped her axe, and out of embarrassment ran off the Arena. And this was in an actual battle where everyone was watching, not a Training Camp like this here. Sounds familiar, Scar?” Joe teased. Triggered as she was, Scarlet stepped up from the bench and threw a hard punch at Joe’s shoulder. He took one step back in alarm, and regained his balance after a few failed attempts.

“Geez, Scarlet. Chill,” Joe said, rubbing his shoulder. “I was just trying to make Danny feel more confident in himself, right my friend?” he asked, patting me on the back. “And also,” he added to Scarlet, “Do you not know how tough that fist of yours is? It seriously feels as if it’s made of iron. No joke.”

“Hey, Joe? Be thankful I didn’t use my axe. And by the way, lesson learned, eh? Don’t mess with me,” Scarlet shoved Joe again and then took her seat at the bench. Joe simply raised his eyebrows and muttered something I couldn’t hear.

When we were out of earshot from Scarlet, Joe whispered to me, “That girl is pure savage.” I nodded in agreement and sat down next to Violet after she was done conversing with the skeletons.

After we were settled, the King climbed onto his tower and the match began. I watched Violet and noticed how easy it was for her to shoot down the enemy troops. She swiftly shot down an entire horde of  Minions and then managed to get a few shots off of the enemy tower, until she succumbed to the tower’s arrows and left a pile of elixir on the grass. I was worried for her for a bit, but then she somehow spawned on the bench beside me again, and I was relieved to see she was unharmed. I was too busy watching Violet earlier that it took me a while to notice that a huge army of enemy skeletons were heading toward our tower! King James sent Scarlet onto the Arena, and she somehow destroyed the whole army with just a few spins of her axe. Then Joe was sent behind her and together they destroyed the first tower. They were amazing, alright, but they only made me more nervous. How was I supposed to be as good as them?

The king was calling out the players on the bench to get on the Arena one by one, until he finally pointed at me. I was a little anxious, but I took a deep breath, got off the bench, and planted myself between the two towers with Hannah and Holly on top. A purple-hooded lady with pink eyes, who I believe is the Witch, came walking towards me from the opposite side of the Training Camp. This was not too hard of a start, as I easily took down the Witch with my cannonballs, feeling really accomplished. Perhaps I shouldn’t have said that, for at that moment a Giant came along and soon enough, I disappeared and respawned at the bench.

The battle kept going on as usual, as after I respawn, I rest, and after I rest, I fight in the battle again. King James also occasionally sent random supernatural things onto the Arena, such as a fireball or a mini lightning bolt. The cycle continued until the match was over, and we beat the trainer three towers to none.

Oldschool Royal Giant Goblin Hut Deck for F2Ps

114
royal giant

Hi guys, my name is Mr.Kevin and I wanted to share a very old-school royal giant deck that I’ve been using for years now. This deck got me to my first legendary trophies (in the old versions) and helped me compete in the legendary arena pretty well.

It utilizes the Royal Giant as the main win condition and uniquely the Goblin Hut as a secondary win condition (I like to call it the Royal Giant-Goblin Hut Control Deck).

Over the many meta updates it hasn’t lost its effectiveness, and although it isn’t a perfect deck I can say for certain that it is capable of countering almost all cards in the Clash Royale world.

This deck is pretty difficult to use (a 4,4 elixir average) and requires a lot of patience, but with full mastery it is an almost impenetrable defense and a sure crown victory.

Without further ado, these are the cards required for the Royal Giant-Goblin Hut Control Deck:

royal giant

Clash Royale Royal GiantClash Royale Goblin HutClash Royale fireballClash Royale Arrows
Clash Royale elixir collectorClash Royale CannonClash Royale BarbariansClash Royale Goblin Gang

copy deck

lumberjack dark prince analytics

Note that this deck only utilizes rare and normal rarity cards, making it so easy to upgrade!

Royal Giant Goblin Hut Deck

Clash Royale Royal GiantRoyal Giant

The main win condition for the deck.

I really favor this card as a win condition because it is strong, durable, and fires at range. The only real effective counter to the Royal Giant is the Inferno Tower for a 1 elixir advantage.

Your main push would be placing the Royal Giant at the back.

After destroying one tower, placing the Royal Giant at the center 3 squares from the river (4 squares being the furthest) will allow the Royal Giant to automatically target the other crown tower without being targeted by the King tower.

Clash Royale Goblin HutGoblin Hut

An underestimate card… However in this deck, this will be your secondary win condition.

Place the Goblin Hut behind your crown tower before the Royal Giant.

With the Royal Giant as the tank, your opponent would be focused on the Royal Giant that he would almost not notice the swarm of Spear Goblins building up behind the Royal Giant!

The Spear Goblins are also good as chip damage as they are guaranteed to hit the Arena Tower at least once before dying.

The Goblin Hut would also be your main air defense (against Lava Hound, Inferno Dragon, Minions)

Clash Royale fireballFireball:

In my opinion, the best spell in the entire game. A well-placed Fireball can get the all-too-valuable positive elixir trade that you need.

Fireball can counter Barbarians, Minion Hordes, Witch, Wizard, and the Three Musketeers for a positive elixir trade.

It can also provide interesting value when it can target a building clumped together with the Arena tower!

With a high enough level, it can one-shot cards such as the Wizard, Ice Wizard, Electro Wizard, and the Musketeer, or leave them with just enough HP to be taken down by a single Spear Goblin strike.

Avoid using the Fireball to target only one troop or to target the tower only.

I recommend not targeting the Elixir Collector because the spell has much more utility against clumped troops.

Clash Royale ArrowsArrows

Your swarm clearing card and your counter against Goblin Barrel, Skeleton Army, Minion Horde, Princess, Goblin Gang.

Also replaceable with the Zap or the Log, but I prefer the huge area of effect and it’s ability to target air troops over the log.

Be careful against Arrows bait decks and only use the Atrrows against the Goblin Barrel or the Minion Horde

Clash Royale elixir collectorElixir Collector:

A key card to a control deck that could get you the elixir advantage over your opponent. Back in the old days when it costs only 5 elixir, it used to be an extremely powerful card that is seen in almost every deck. Now with the new 6 elixir cost, it is a riskier card but highly rewarding nonetheless.

Be wary of enemy counters to this card (Miner, Rocket, Lightning) and it is advisable to place it in the middle (right in between the Princess Towers)

Clash Royale CannonCannon:

Your main defensive building.

With the tombstone, this is the only card that can get you an elixir advantage against the Hog Rider without the Hog Rider touching your tower. Placed correctly, it can even counter the lone Giant without the Giant touching your tower!

It is also a good card to counter the Valkyrie, Lumberjack, Battle Ram, Night Witch, Witch, Executioner, Bowler, Wizard, Giant Skeleton, Furnace, and Goblin Hut, all for a positive elixir trade.

Clash Royale BarbariansBarbarians:

Your main defensive card against the heavy tanks (P.E.K.K.A., Golem, Giant, Royal Giant, Prince, Bowler, Mega Knight, Elite Barbarians), nearly all for a positive elixir trade.

Placed correctly, it can counter splash damage cards (Sparky, Mega Knight, Dark Prince, etc.) as long as you take care to place the Barbarians to surround those cards.

When up against the Inferno Dragon or the Inferno Tower, place the Barbarians in front of your Royal Giant to tank the damage for your main win condition!

Clash Royale Goblin GangGoblin Gang:

Back then this used to be the 2-elixir Spear Goblins, but with the update it has taken its place as an effective counter to air units, swarms, and tanks alike.

It is effective against Knight, Bandit, Prince, Minions, Mini P.E.K.K.A., P.E.K.K.A., Giant, and other tanks. However it is easily counterable with the Log, Zap, or Arrows, so be prepared to follow-up with the Barbarians once the Goblin Gang is destroyed.

Placed correctly, it can even counter splash damage units (Sparky, Wizard, Ice Wizard, Electro Wizard).

Just be sure to place it around the splash damage unit and surround it so that their attacks won’t one-shot the entire platoon.

General Gameplay

Remember guys, this is a control deck, so be patient and try to build up elixir advantage over your opponent with the Elixir Collector and positive elixir trades on defense.

Your main focus for the first minute of the game is to figure out the opponent’s cards, defending for positive elixir trades, and placing down as many elixir collectors as you can.

When entering double elixir time, overwhelm your opponent with swarms from the Goblin Hut and relentlessly pressing the enemy with a Royal Giant at the end of the bridge!

Offense:

Your main attacking weapons would be the Royal Giant and the Goblin Hut.

The priority for placement would be:

  1. The Elixir Collector to build elixir advantage.
  2. The Goblin Hut behind the princess tower.
  3. The Royal Giant at the end of the bridge.

During double elixir time, sending out the Goblin Hut and Royal Giant should be priority over the Elixir Collector.

Watch as the Royal Giant chip damages on the enemy while a swarm of Spear Goblins build up behind him!

There are two ways you can attack:

By the time the Royal Giant reaches the bridge you can support it with the Barbarians or even a second Royal Giant. This type of big push is recommended against cycle decks and decks with Inferno Dragon or Inferno Tower.

After knocking down one princess tower, you can place the Royal Giant at the center of the opponent’s field so that it can automatically target the other princess tower without it being the target of the king tower.

Defense:

Pay attention! The key to this deck is absolute defense, building elixir advantage through positive elixir trades.

Your main defensive units would be the Barbarians, Goblin Gang, and the Cannon, with Fireball and Arrows for clearing up swarms.

Avoid placing the Royal Giant as a tank in defense! It is way to expensive and you have Barbarians and the Cannon for that.

Matchups

Most counters are already discussed above, so I will only discuss some of the most difficult offenses to deal with in this deck:

Clash Royale Hog RiderHog Rider Cycle Decks

Most of the time you can counter the Hog Rider and any swarms behind it with the Cannon and the Arrows.

However, with the huge elixir average for this deck you may sometimes need to deploy Barbarians to shut down the Hog Rider.

Play patiently until double elixir and send big pushes (start with the Royal Giant behind the king tower)

Clash Royale GiantGiant/Golem Decks

With correct playing, you can counter the Giant with the Cannon for an easy positive elixir trade!

TS7pMru

Try to save your Barbarians to surround the support unit behind these tanks (Wizard, Witch, Bowler, Executioner, etc.)

Clash Royale Minion HordeArrow Bait

With the fireball and the arrows, this is your chance to surprise your opponent by clearing out their Goblin Barrel and their Minion Horde.

When facing decks with majority swarm cards, be careful not to be easily baited or you will be left to deal with a strong card (Minion Horde or Goblin Barrel) without a spell.

Save your Arrows for the Goblin Barrel and the Fireball for the Minion Horde.

Deal with other swarm cards (Bats, Skeleton Army, Goblin Gang, Princess, etc.) with the Cannon and the Goblin Gang.

Clash Royale Three MusketeersThree Musketeers

Fireball directly on top of the Three Musketeers for a whopping 5 elixir advantage.

Be very careful as to not be baited to use your Fireball! Use Arrows, Barbarians, or Goblin Gang to deal with other cards normally countered with Fireball (Barbarians, Minion Horde, etc.)

If the enemy splits up his Three Musketeers, Fireball on the pair and use a Goblin Gang to take care of the lone Musketeer.

Clash Royale Lava HoundLava Hound (and other air troop decks)

Back in the Lava Hound meta, this deck struggles to counter the air troops, especially the Lavaloon combo.

To defend, place the Goblin Hut in the middle instead of all the way behind the Princess Tower, in order to lure the Lava Hound to attacking it.

Use the cannon to bait a lone Balloon while the Spear Goblins chip away at its health.

Air decks often have low resistance against ground pushes, so my advice is that when the enemy sends out the Lava Hound, build a strong Royal Giant-Barbarian push on the other lane and try to take down the other tower (and forcing your opponent to spend elixir on defense so that he cannot support the Lava Hound).

Once you have taken down one tower, you have the advantage of placing your Royal Giant aggressively in the middle!

Clash Royale GraveyardGraveyard

Once again, during the graveyard meta this deck struggles as it contains no effective counter to the graveyard (Minions, Poison, Executioner, Bowler, Valkyrie, etc.)

The safest way to minimize damage from the graveyard would be the Barbarians. However with the new nerf, a Goblin Gang should suffice.

Just be prepared to use your arrows if the skeletons become too overwhelming.

Clash Royale SparkySparky

Again this deck lacks a decent counter against Sparky (Zap, Electro Wizard, air troops).

Place the Goblin Hut in the middle in front of the king tower so that the spear goblins can distract her. To kill it, surround it with the Goblin Gang or the Barbarians. Correct placement is extremely crucial and requires much practice.

Clash Royale Royal GiantRoyal Giant

Against a fellow Royal Giant, tank its hits with the cannon or the Goblin Hut while taking care of the Royal Giant with the Barbarians.

Placing the Goblin Hut 5 tiles from the river and two tiles from the princess tower being pressured by the Royal Giant would ensure the enemy cannot target the Goblin Hut from across the river, and forcing the Royal Giant to attack the Goblin Hut before the princess tower.

That’s all for now, thanks so much for reading and hope that this guide would help, if not for trophy pushing, to help you deal with these types of decks. Feel free to leave questions or thoughts in the comments below!

Happy clashing!

Best Tips and Decks for 20-Win Crown Championship Finals Challenge

Crown Championship Challenge

Crown Championship Challenge

Best Tips for 20-Win Crown Championship Challenge

Assuming that this Challenge has 3 free entries like the previous one.

Don’t necessarily play your ladder deck unless it also shines in tournament play.

A lot of people run certain decks for ladder with cards that might not work well with the Tournament Cap. This is because some cards give the significant change once leveled up (for example, Royal Giant and Elite Barbarians)

At Tourney Cap, it is essential to either stick to a deck that you have a lot of success with at tourney cap or a proven meta deck that you feel comfortable to play with.

Practice with the deck first and with different match-ups

Lets say you are mainly a ladder player with little Challenge experience. Rather than smacking together a deck that people have success with and playing poorly, practice with clanmates or friends via friendly battles.

Play against different decks and see how you fare vs them.

You might want to practice against hard counters and tough match-ups in general due to the rock paper scissors nature of the meta.

Get as many games under your belt as possible with the deck you plan on running.

Don’t make the first entry your warm-up. Unlike Grand Challenge, where it costs 100 gems to enter, this gives you 3 free entries. To maximize the value, do the best in your free tries rather than wasting them.

Do not use the deck which has many hard-counters

Golem Lightning is undoubtedly a deck that has been very strong for a long time. It is still very viable because of the Tornado nerf making Executioner + Tornado weaker.

However it does have quite a lot of weaknesses: Executioner Tornado being one, 3 Musketeers, (arguably) Bridge Spam, P.E.K.K.A Etc.

Because of this, despite Golem being solid on the ladder, in an all-or-nothing situation like this, where you will ideally want to get 12 wins on the first try, it’s best not risk it by running a deck which has so many hard matchups.

Run an anti-meta deck!

The previous tips have all been about adapting to the meta.

But if you are someone who has experience with Challenges and has an above average level of understanding to the game, you can have a crack at making your own deck!

Remember, meta decks came from someone somewhere. Who knows the next meta deck might be a deck made to counter this meta?

When creating a deck, keep in mind what popular decks this meta has and include counter cards.

Play ASAP!

Now unlike regular Challenges, this challenge has 3 retries.

At the beginning, majority of the player pool will be retrying this challenge.

After the first days, casual players will finish their free entries and will stop playing the challenge. which will reduce the amount of the player pool.

The better players will be the ones who ended up dedicated and retry the challenge until they get 20 wins.

In order to have a high change you will want to play rather early into the challenge. I would say within the first 2 days or so.

Don’t worry about changing your deck.

Now this challenge could have 23+ games, that means you are bound to notice trends.

Because I was facing a lot of Golem Lightning, I decided to run Miner Poison and had a lot of success with the deck because Miner Poison is stronger than Golem if you play properly. It also punishes Elixir Collector easily etc. Also, I faced a lot of Log bait, which was expected since people were playing X-Bow a lot. Also, Log bait with Rocket hard-counters X-Bow.

So Miner Poison punishes beatdown and most control decks as well!

What If you run a deck like X-Bow and people only seem to run beatdown? Try maybe control with P.E.K.K.A or Inferno Tower with work out for an example.

mega knight sparky

Hey guys!

It’s KPK back to Clash.World after a really really long time. My last posts were in August, and I hadn’t played for quite a while. But now, I came back with a Mega Awesome Mega Knight Spell-Bait deck which is really deadly!

It uses 4 Legendary Cards on the Contrary, out of which two can be replaced, so let’s hop on!

mega knight sparky

The Mega Sparky Deck

Clash Royale Mega KnightMega Knight

A Solid Whopping Ton of Damage on a Mega-Jump and on birth.

The Mega Knight isn’t entirely a P.E.K.K.A or neither is he a Bandit. He is more of a Control Card rather than defense and offense.

So, just crush those Hog Riders and Counterpush. Mega Knight can proceed once he finished his defensive job.

Say a PEKKA is coming towards you, try utilising the Mega Knight’s jump damage and few other cards to somehow wear-out his best counter.

Clash Royale SparkySparky

Well, she no longer is a “Trash Can on Wheels”.

She’s a great card right now spitting mighty nuclear blasts. Sparky plays most role in defense before going straightforward offense.

Use Sparky to crush Giants ,Golems, PEKKAs and lots more! Plus, She adds up to some quantity of Spell-Bait as well.

Clash Royale MinerMiner

Really useful card. He does a lot more than just tank and spank.

He wrecks down mean Elixir Collectors, stops those Pesky Princesses on the Bridge, and chips off a lot of damage when left unattended.

Clash Royale Electro WizardElectro Wizard

The Born Legend!

The Electro Wizard has been on the Legendary Leaderboard for quite a long time!

He lands with a POW! Controls with a POW! And lot more with a POW!

Utilize his spawn damage to stop Minion Hordes, Goblins and lots more.

Clash Royale Dart GoblinDart Goblin

Not many people use a Dart Goblin, but in this meta, he’s a darn good chipper off the block (pun intended)!

His long range helps him to snipe down enemies before they can even touch him!

His Ultimate Chipping can also make him a useful card to play when you have nothing else to do.

Clash Royale GoblinStab Goblins

Yup! The Regular 3 Green Mean Ones, and NOT the Gang.

3 Goblins can do a lot more compared to the Gang for Positive Elixir Trade.

They can easily counter Lumberjacks, Mini PEKKAs, Night Witches, Executioners and boy this list doesn’t end!

Clash Royale PoisonPoison

Miner’s best friend. Helps him to swish down pesky swarms and deal around 500 damage to the tower.

I wouldn’t recommend Fireball as an alternative but Poison does a pretty good job here, who’re we kidding?

Clash Royale ZapZap

A great card, ever since Bats got a bit annoying.

Quite self-explanatory.

General Gameplan

This isn’t purely an offensive deck. So hold your cards before making a move, or a Hog Rider will mow down your Tower.

Always, stick to a starting move.

Few of ’em include Dart Goblin on the Bridge, Electro Wizard behind your King Tower or Sparky behind the King.

However, if your opponent Rockets your Sparky, remember to NEVER play her again near your Princess Tower.

Easy Beginnings

First, understand their 8 Cards, their main win conditions and their counters to your pushes.

Defend every push that your opponent makes.

This is done by not overcommitting your Elixir towards the offensive boundaries.

Just build your pushes after every counter.

Say the Mega Knight defended against the Hog, now play Goblins and E-Wiz behind him and Miner on the NON-TORNADO Zone of the Princess Tower. That way, your Miner chips down/tanks for you and the other troops whack down stuff!

Keep Poison and Zap handy, since this push is bound to consume some hefty load of elixir. But, don’t worry. A good opponent will take time to counter you, which will give you enough time to get atleast 5 elixir.

Say Sparky and Goblins, countered a Giant Night Witch Combo. Then, try playing Mega Knight in front of her, and E-Wiz + Dart Goblin or something similar. A simple, sensible synergical push which doesn’t leave you in taking up damage.

Double Time – Fun Time

Now, start building your pushes on that lane you have been attacking.

Say, Sparky behind King Tower, then Mega Knight in front of her. Then E-Wiz 4 tiles behind this PUSH to prevent a Positive Trade Fireball.

Play Miner+Poison combo where the Poison surrounds the Miner. Meanwhile, play Electro Wizard and Goblins to give your opponent a smile of defeat on their face.

on’t overcommit your Elixir!

Once a push is done, just stop. Too much rush, might as well trigger a Hog Rider down the other lane.

Nothing is Impossible!

If you aren’t able to counter their push that easily, just watch for their playstyle and your mistake-ful counter.

There is always a different way to handle that push.

Say, it’s a Battle Ram Bandit kinda Combo (the typical Bridge Spam), and you think E-Wiz and Goblins is sufficient rather than Mega Knight to not WASTE Elixir.

But, think twice! Saving your tower is more important than focusing on Elixir.

So there is always more than one way to defend against a push, especially in this deck.

This is a Spell-Bait deck!

Don’t always go Beatdown type.

It’s more of an easy-to-use hybrid deck of Beatdown and Spell-Bait.

Play Sparky (which defended a push for you), and Miner.

The opponent Zaps the Sparky. Then, play E-Wiz and Goblins to completely annoy the Spell-Bait portion.

This time, they MIGHT Log you! Then Chip them down with a Dartie!

Spell-Bait is about annoying your opponent. It might be Mega Knight with Dart Goblin and Poison.

Once the Dartie is Logged, you can play Goblins along with an E-Wiz for change and get them to the Tower freely.

High Elixir Advantage

Tackling Elixir Advantage is also quite important!

Your Opponent might be up in elixir because of:

  1. Elixir Collectors
  2. Mirrored Collectors
  3. Misuse of Elixir (From Your Side)

Elixir Collectors

Your key way to stop this problem is with the cheapest trade you can make. Better to always play a Miner.

If it is a 3M deck and you Poison their Pump, they might play 3M, and you may feel so much of just throwing your phone.

Well, you might have a Mega Knight in Cycle with your luck, but always try Miner for the Collector since he does a Darn Good Job.

Same thing for against Spawner Buildings except Tombstones.

Mirrored Collectors

Miner first! Poison Next! Phew! That was Simple!

Misuse of Elixir

This might happen.

A costly mistake often give the opponent the elixir hand.

At these times, find the card which might be the common counter to your problem.

Say it’s Night Witch and Bandit and Battle Ram. Play a Mega Knight to give a better solution and get yourself a better hand.

Mega Knight ain’t like a PEKKA where you MUST make him CROSS THE BRIDGE! So it doesn’t matter.

Match-Ups

Clash Royale Hog RiderHog Rider

Mega Knight it in the center to prevent a single hit off your tower and counterpush.

In a Hog+Ice Golem combo, if your Sparky knows it ain’t getting Stunned, then this your best shot. Or Mega Knight + Goblins might seem to do the trick! Counter push is important.

Don’t focus on the Elixir Trades!

Clash Royale GiantGiant

Sparky is your zesty counter to this along with some BBQ Sauce prepared by the E-Wiz.

In Giant + Night Witch, play Mega Knight to first damage both of ’em and then use Goblins.

Keep Poison in hand if it’s a tank and spank!

Clash Royale Goblin GangSpell-Bait

A high Level Zap wipes out those Green Goblins.

Princess can be wiped out with a Mega Knight’s Spawn, E-Wiz Spawn, Miner, Dart Goblin or Goblins.

Spell-Bait has 100% chance of getting REKT (wrecked) with this deck.

Clash Royale GolemGolems

First, kill the Pumps with Mining it or Poisoning it.

Sparky does a pretty good job, but in a Lightning deck, it’s the MK!

Use E-Wiz and Goblins to distract the Glass Cannons.

Clash Royale P.E.K.K.AP.E.K.K.A

Sparky is your BEST COUNTER! It’s pointless losing a Mega Knight.

Any PEKKA at Tourney Standards can’t take more than 3 Blows from a Sparky. Play Goblins to kite the PEKKA.

Clash Royale GraveyardGraveyard

Goblins, Poison, Dartie….. I can extend this list forever!

Clash Royale Lava HoundLava Hound

To completely stop his thought processing, play Mega Knight and Poison in the opposite lane.

Then, use Electro Wizard and Dartie to stop the Lava Hound.

Clash Royale Three MusketeersThree Musketeers

Miner does some work on the Pumps, and the Mega Knight swipes the Musketeers home.

Keep E-Wiz and Goblins for a split-lane push.

Best Substitutions for All Legendary Cards

54

All, this is Ven from Orange Seed.

Straight up, Legendary cards are not replaceable. They get their ‘Legendary’ status for a reason.

Sometimes, you will find some nice deck that you can’t use because the lacking of ‘Legendary card. This guide will try to discuss and find the closest replacement for the legendary card you don’t have yet.

Best Substitutions for All Legendary Cards

Best Substitutions for All Legendary Cards

For each legendary card, we will have a brief overlook of:

Clash Royale Ice Wizard

Ice Wizard

What is his special ability?

Ice Wizard’s attack will slow his targets’ movement and attack speed by 35%

What is his role in most deck?

Ice Wizard serves as a very strong defensive card. With the help of arena tower, he can deal with most glass cannon, low-health swarm units and even barbarians, bowler & executioner.

In terms of pushes, Ice Wizard act as a support card to slow down opponent’s troop, giving your side more time to deal more damage.

What is the closest replacement for the card?

Ice Wizard is undergoing a very bad situation in the current meta. A lot of common & rare cards can replace his role just well, in terms of defense, these cards can do his job just well, and due to their dps, they are even better than Ice Wizard when you translate them to counter-push:

Note that these cards can’t deal splash attack except Tornado which is a spell:

  • Goblin Gang
  • Mega Minion
  • Archers
  • Tornado

Note that these cards can’t deal against air units and it’s better to only use them for defense:

  • Bomber can clear up ground swarm units very effectively
  • Ice Golem act as a very cheap tank to lure units. His death damage can be paired up with zap to clear swarm units.
  • Guards is good for luring and defending against incoming melee attackers. For troops dealing long range & splash attack, you may defend by surrounding them with Guards. For air units, lure them to the centre of the arena and let your princess tower finish them off.

Clash Royale Princess

Princess

What is her special ability?

Princess is the only troops that have longer range than Arena Tower, she can attack an Arena Tower without crossing the bridge.

What is her role in most deck?

Princess serves as a very strong support card. Her 9 tiles range makes her very effective in defending on other lane and dealing dual-lane pressure. It’s hard to counter her with a positive elixir trades except skeletons, goblins and fire spirits. (however, she almost always get a shot)

What is the closest replacement for the card?

Princess is difficult to replace due to her insane long-ranged splash attack, in terms of baiting spell and long-ranged attack support, here are her alternatives:

In terms of range & defense, with additional 1 elixir, you can try:

  • Musketeer
  • Baby Dragons

In terms of splash attack to clear swarm units:

  • Tornado
  • Arrows

Clash Royale The Log

The Log

What is The Log’s special ability?

The Log can push back all ground units and act as a pseudo-stun to buy you some time while defending. The knockback effect of Log can reset the charge attacks of the Prince, Dark Prince, and the Battle Ram.

What is The Log’s role in most deck?

The Log can effectively use to clear up ground swarm units. The best part is when it roll, the Log can deal damage to any troops in its path, it’s best use as predictive spell.

What is the closest replacement for the card?

Without the push back effect, you can try:

  • Zap (Zap cannot eliminate Princess & due to the neft recently, Zap cannot disarm Goblin Barrel’s threat also. However, Zap has the ability to stun and reset troop’s charges, Sparky, Inferno Tower & Dragon, personally, I hope Zap get back it’s stun period to 1 sec)
  • Fire Spirits (high splash damage & radius to quickly clear up swarm units, including Goblin Barrel)
  • Arrow (with additional 1 Elixir, arrows has a wide range and can target air)

Clash Royale Miner

Miner

What is his special ability?

The Miner is the only mini tank that can be deployed anywhere on the arena.

What is his role in most deck?

The Miner is best used as surprise mini tank to shield your wounded troops, thus makes him the best card for counter-attack. If use him effectively, Miner can slowly chip away tower health. Besides that, Miner is good in destroying opponent’s Elixir Collector.

What is the closest replacement for the card?

Miner cannot be replace in Miner-Poison deck which use him as the main win condition.

In terms of mini tank, you can try:

  • Knight
  • Ice Golem

In terms of surprise counter push of wounded troops, you can try: * Heal

Clash Royale Lumberjack

Lumberjack

What is his special ability?

Lumberjack is very fast in both movement & attack speed. he will drop Rage spell upon death.

What is his role in most deck?

Lumberjack is used as a support troop that can defend quite well against tanks and upon death, his rage spell will further increase other troops attack and movement. Depending of your team up strategy, Lumberjack’s fast dps and Rage effect upon death can quickly take down a tower.

What is the closest replacement for the card?

In terms of defending against tank, you can try:

  • Mini Pekka (actually did a better job than Lumberjack)

In terms of sudden attack strategy, you can try:

Clash Royale Sparky

Sparky

What is Sparky’s special ability?

Sparky can deal VERY HIGH area damage to ground units. Sparky can take down a tower in few shots if left ignored.

What is Sparky role in most deck?

Sparky is usually use as a win condition in a beatdown deck.

What is the closest replacement for the card?

In terms of high damage behind tank, you can try:

  • Balloon

In terms of splash attack behind tank, you can try:

  • Bowler
  • Wizard
  • Executioner

Clash Royale Lava Hound

Lava Hound

What is Lava Hound’s special ability?

Lava Hound is the only buidling-target flying tank in the arena. Upon death, Lava Hound split into 6 Lava Pups that can deal massive damage.

What is Lava Hound role in most deck?

Lava Hound is usually used as the flying tank in Air-Beatdown deck. Lava Pups that spawn upon Hound’s death can deal massive damage if there’s a Miner act as a surprise tank for them.

What is the closest replacement for the card?

Lava Hound is the only Building Target Flying tank, thus it is difficult to replace. Minion Horde can replace Lava Pups for the distraction & fast dps.

In terms of tank, you can try:

  • Golem
  • Baby Dragon (as a mini flying tank)

Clash Royale Electro Wizard

Electro Wizard

What is his special ability?

Electro Wiazrd’s attack can briefly stun his targets. Upon deployment, he stuns and deals minor area damage (similar to zap).

What is his role in most deck?

Electro Wizard is usually used as a defensive card in a deck. His spawn can clear swarm troops and his stun attack can slow down opponent’s troops. He can then perform good counter attack if you successfully shield him with a mini tank or tank.

What is the closest replacement for the card?

Electro Wizard’s spawn & stun effect is not replaceable. But in terms of using him as a defensive role, you can try:

  • Musketeer
  • Baby Dragon (act as air defend, can deal splash damage and have higher hitpoint)
  • Wizard (cost 1 more elixir but is great at splash attack)

Clash Royale Inferno Dragon

Inferno Dragon

What is his special ability?

Inferno Dragon’s damage increases over time as he remains focused on a single target, similar to the Inferno Tower.

What is his role in most deck?

Inferno Dragon is usually used as a defensive card against tank. You can then translate him to counter-push by shielding him with a tank in front. Inferno Dragon who locked on a tower can burn it down in seconds.

What is the closest replacement for the card?

In terms of melting down tank in seconds, you can try:

  • Inferno Tower

Clash Royale Bandit

Bandit

What is her special ability?

Bandit has the ability to dash to nearby targets, dealing double damage if she hits a target with her dash. She is immune to damage while dashing.

What is her role in most deck?

Bandit is usually used as a surprise card in a deck. Due to her invulnerability while dashing, without countering, a wounded bandit almost always get a hit on the tower. She act as a quite effective defense against single target glass cannon and even Bowler & Executioner.

What is the closest replacement for the card?

Bandit’s dash effect is not replaceable. But in terms of using her as a defensive role, you can try:

  • Knight
  • Mega Minion
  • Goblin Gang
  • Archer

Clash Royale Graveyard

Graveyard

What is Graveyard special ability?

Graveyard can be placed anywhere in the Arena and summons the Skeletons one by one within the spell’s radius.

What is Graveyard’s role in most deck?

Graveyard is usually used as a win condition in a deck. With a mini tank/tank shielding the graveyard, the little skeletons can tear down the arena tower in seconds. Small to medium spells are use to destroy any troops that try to counter the graveyard.

What is the closest replacement for the card?

  • Skeleton Barrel

In my opinion Skeleton Barrel is Mini Graveyard…

I agree it is not even close to Graveyard but in the hands of skilled player it could be used like a Graveyard.

Clash Royale Night Witch

Night Witch

What is Night Witch special ability?

Night Witch summons 2 Bats with pretty impressive damage every 7 seconds.

Upon death, she spawns 2 more Bats onto the battle.

What is Night Witch’s role in most deck?

She is generally the heavy hitter in most of the deck and used as a Glass Canon behind a tank to do so much damage. Her bats makes her even more dreadful when she is behind a tank .

What is the closest replacement for the card?

  • Musketeer (Unlike Night Ưitch, she is a ranged troop but serves the similar role)
  • Mini P.E.K.K.A (High DPS  card just like Night Witch but can’t target air)
  • Witch: For +1 Elixir, She is a decent replacement as her damage along with her Skeletons is somewhat comparable to Night Witch and over and above regular witch splashes.

Clash Royale Mega Knight

Mega Knight

What is Mega knight special ability?

Behold. This bad boy lands with the power of 1000 moustaches. Such power much wow xD.

He is the only tank who can splash, dash and spawn with a Fireball.

What is Mega Knight’s role in most deck?

This guy’s role is to defend a deathball and counter push.

Is he a win-condition? No , I don’t think so.

His role is to defend -> act as a tank in counter push for Balloon, Graveyard, Hog, Battle ram etc .

What is the closest replacement for the card?

  • P.E.K.K.A

Even though P.E.K.K.A  cannot land with the power of 1k moustaches :p, this guy packs a punch and his role in most of the deck is same as that of mega knight.

Summary

  • Legendary cards are not replaceable, this guide only tries to find the closest replacement
  • Try your best to reach Hog Mountain to unlock legendary cards in shop. Save up gold by donating to clan, collect your normal chest, clan chest & crown chest. Most importantly, don’t simply upgrade troops that is not in your main deck
  • Use Gems on Challenge. You may obtain a lot of Gold through challenge.
  • For every free challenge, remember to learn the strategy first before jumping to the battle.

I hope this will be helpful to everyone! Please leave your comment if I missed anything. Thanks!

Cards Breakdown

Clash Royale P.E.K.K.APEKKA

Your main defense.

Kills tanks, Hog riders, battle rams, and pesky 3 musketeers. She will stop almost every single ground push then you can counter push, making her my favorite card.

Don’t use her haphazardly because she is vital do defending your tower and being caught off-guard is a bad sight.

Clash Royale Goblin BarrelGoblin Barrel

Spam these.

Every mistake your opponent makes launch it at your opponent’s tower and annoy them to force them to waste elixir.

Don’t forget the all-important trick barrel!

Clash Royale Goblin GangGoblin Gang

Swarm card which is used to bait our spells. They also provide good DPS to kill troops fast.

They can be used on offense to provide extra spam and annoyance.

Clash Royale PrincessPrincess

One of the most annoying cards in the game because she can do infinite damage on a tower.

Playing princess forces your opponent to waste elixir to kill her because her splash damage is so power in supports defenses and she can deal massive tower damage if unchecked.

Clash Royale ExecutionerExecutioner

Air and ground splash support. Beefier then the princess, allowing him to provide strong frontline support.

Behind the PEKKA, he executes all swarm units, making the push much deadlier.

Clash Royale Ice GolemIce Golem

Cycle card and tank for soaking up damage.

Use him as a distraction while other cards deal damage. Use him to also kite units away.

Clash Royale fireballFireball

Versatile medium damage spell.

Use on clusters of troops to get substantial value and finish off low health towers.

Clash Royale ZapZap

Versatile low damage spell.

Zap small units but be wary of using this spell if your opponent has a bait deck.

General Gameplan

The goal of this deck is to bait out spells with the spammy troops then use the PEKKA as a defense.

Every time your opponent wastes their cheap spell (or if they do not have one in their deck) throw in goblin barrels, princesses, and/or goblin gangs.

In other words, be a huge douchebag by annoying the heck out of your opponent.

Remember to always keep a little bit of elixir left for defense because you never know when you will have to drop the PEKKA down to kill something.

Being caught off-guard with your best defense to defend can cost you precious tower damage.

If you don’t have the PEKKA, your best defense could be with Executioner and another troop to deal extra damage for support.

Once a PEKKA has been used on defense, counter push if you have the elixir left.

Sometimes, just playing a princess down for support can make a powerful push in the beginning of the match.

Never play the PEKKA with a goblin barrel unless you know your opponent does not have many counters because if countered correctly, it may result in a devastating counter push against you.

Starting plays include: Princess in the back, Ice golem at the back, Split Goblin Gang at the back, Goblin Barrel on the tower, and Executioner at the back.

NEVER play the PEKKA at the back as a start. That is a big no-no.

PEKKA is mainly a reactively played card and should never be played by itself.

If you do not use your PEKKA very much in a battle, rely on baiting spells for the goblin barrel to do damage. PEKKA can be used in the back to build up a big push. But be smart about it.

Do not use the PEKKA is you know your opponent can punish or drop a big tank on the other lane.

Against decks without a strong tank, creating a large push with your PEKKA can be very powerful.

Sometimes, your opponent may have three spells in their deck and/or can easily counter all your spam cards. In that case, rely more on PEKKA pushes to deal damage. Cycle princesses to annoy them, which and use trick barrels to sneak in that juicy chip damage.

Inferno Dragons and Inferno Towers are a huge pain, on offense and on defense. That is the reason why zap is in this deck.

I used to use log, but I would get crushed by those inferno troops.

Zapping a defending inferno dragon or tower is self-explanatory.

Zapping an inferno dragon which is attacking you is also important to make sure it doesn’t melt your PEKKA which may be busy dealing with a tank.

Princess behind the tower is also important to provide that great cover fire, helping your defense.

If you have gotten two princesses down on the map, you know you are at a good spot.

You can be much more aggressive, knowing your two princesses are like an extra tower defending you.

Your opponent will also be busy trying to kill your princesses, which will allow you to drop a PEKKA on their face and annoy them even more.

Remember: BM your opponent! Nothing like a good annoying deck and BMing your opponent at the same time.

If your opponent is really screwed up, do the “Down the Line” strategy, pioneered by the great Nickatnyte.

Basically, go down the line of emotes with Laughing, Angry, Crying, and Thumbs up. Don’t forget to laugh often, spam the thanks, and wish them good game when they are utterly losing!

(-Will: WTF dude?)

Deck Matchups

Clash Royale GolemGiant/Golem/PEKKA

Use the PEKKA on defense then counter push with left over cards.

Continue to spam Goblin Barrels and other units to force them to use elixir.

Executioner and Princess are key to supporting your PEKKA on defense to take out support units.

Ice golem can also be used to temporarily distract support troops.

Clash Royale X-BowX-bow/Mortar

P.E.K.K.A is used to soak up damage.

Execution and princess once again must be supporting.

Once the siege weapon is destroyed and if the PEKKA is still alive, spam all your cards and push through their defense to guarantee a tower.

Clash Royale Royal GiantRoyal Giant

PEKKA.

Clash Royale Elite BarbariansElite Barbarians

PEKKA.

Clash Royale Hog RiderHog

PEKKA. Don’t overcommit to make sure you don’t get punished badly.

Clash Royale MinerMiner

The miner can be killed with plenty of cards.

Use large PEKKA pushes to destroy their defense and prevent them from chipping you down.

Clash Royale Goblin GangBait

The only way to out bait their bait using your bait, is to bait their bait allowing you to create a large PEKKA push to stomp them.

Remember to use the zap only for goblin barrels.

That is how you become a master at baiting.

Clash Royale Lava HoundAir

Executioner and Princess are what you rely on.

Goblin gang can also provide a little bit of support. Use Ice Golem to distract any other support units.

Sometimes, PEKKA can be used to push into a Lavahound allowing you to more easily take the Lavahound down then counter push.

That’s it for now.

Any questions, comments or insults, post them in the comments below.

Have a Clashtastic Day!!

Dart Goblin Rocket Spell-Bait Deck

57

Hey guys it’s Dart Goblin FTW (Regeneration) here and before I begin I have a couple of warnings before using this deck.

Dart Goblin Rocket Spell Bait Deck

Clash Royale Ice SpiritClash Royale Fire SpiritsClash Royale Goblin GangClash Royale Knight
Clash Royale Dart GoblinClash Royale RocketClash Royale mirrorClash Royale The Log

copy deck

night witch clone analytics

This deck is not for you if:

  • A: You hate using spell bait.
  • B: The cards aren’t up to high enough levels.
  • C: Cycling isn’t your thing. Don’t worry, mine’s still in the garage(Ba dum tss)

Totally funny story about the origins of this deck

Okay so I was playing with my friend in a 2v2 and we were messing around with the decks( because we kept losing) and my friend got this great idea to make the most expensive deck possible (you can try this too if you want to find out for yourself so I’ll give you a hint: The average elixir cost is 6.6 and you need mirror).

So I make the expensive deck and I swear we didn’t lose. We actually tied 1-1 and were 2 Rockets away from winning.

So that got me thinking: The opposite of the most expensive deck possible is the cheapest deck possible (again, the average elixir cost this time is 1.7).

I took that 1.7 elixir deck and shuffled some cards around to see if I can make a decent deck.

The end result is this deck and a ticket to Challenger 1 (How did this happen OMG)!

Obnoxious 2.7 Elixir Spell Bait Deck:

Clash Royale RocketRocket

Technically the win condition, but you won’t be using Rocket as much as other win conditions like Hog.

IMO the cheapest win condition is Miner, and that’s who I originally had, but not only did I miss not having Poison, I also missed having a decent defensive option. Yeah, Miner CAN work as a weaker Knight on defense, but he just can’t deal the damage Rocket does.

I found that Rocket WINS GAMES. That crucial 500 damage at the end is just too important to not have.

So if you want to have a Moison deck, go ahead, but that’s a different deck and I’m pretty sure someone else wrote a guide about it.

Clash Royale Dart GoblinDart Goblin

What kind of Dart Goblin FTW would I be if I didn’t try to squeeze him into this deck?

He is underrated, and actually is very important to this deck. Use him on defense, and/or for chip damage(depending on the situation).

You usually won’t get to place troops in front of him since he’s so fast, but if that ever happens, make sure you bait out Log/Arrows with another troop the other lane so that he does massive damage!

I’ll even give you 4 reasons why he’s better than Princess:

  1. Does more DPS, and is better on defense and counterpushes(especially great behind troops!)
  2. Counters more cards than Princess(Especially Graveyard!)
  3. Easier to level up
  4. 1v1 counters Princess(He takes a hit, kills Princess, and goes on to get 2 more hits off the Tower)

Now some say that Princess does more initial damage and is better against swarms. But there’s already another card for that.

Clash Royale Fire SpiritsFire Spirits

Another underrated card!

For 2 Elixir, get rid of the swarms Dart Goblin can’t handle.

Minion Hordes? Elixir puddle. Barbarians? NEARLY DEAD. Princess? Support troops like E-wiz and Witch? Distract and they too are GONE. 3M? Add Log and you gain +5 Elixir(if they are together, which they rarely are…), or pair them with Ice Spirit(Ice Spirit has to land) and gain even more Elixir!

Another troop that you can place at the bridge as a threat, and to bait out Log/Zap.

If you’re lucky, some people will even miss with the Log or better yet, Arrows them!

Clash Royale Ice SpiritIce Spirit

BEST 1 ELIXIR CARD (IMO).

I just can’t see why it’s better than 1 Elixir Skeletons (maybe against P.E.K.K.A it’s better?), and at this point it’s pretty obvious why: 1.5 second Freeze (everytime you use this card in x2 Elixir you actually gain .1 of a second in Elixir since Elixir generates at 1.4 seconds!)

It also provide easy chip damage on the Tower and splash so that multiple troops can be affected.

Why would you want to replace this card (Unless you don’t have it and at that point, I’m sorry but you’re missing out. GET THIS CARD AS SOON AS YOU CAN).

Clash Royale Goblin GangGoblin Gang

That Spear Goblins buff was also an indirect buff against the Gang: They do more damage now.

They’re much more of a threat, and IMO are officially better than Skeleton Army.

Yeah they give up a hit to Hogs and are less “swarmy”, but they are Zap resistant, can target air, and are easier to level up.

And even better, are more likely to deal damage when placed at the bridge (sometimes the Spear gobs get hits off if the Gang gets countered with a Log or Arrows).

Use them against aggro troops like Elite Barbarians and P.E.K.K.A, and against pretty much most win conditions(probably not Balloon) like Miners, Graveyard (if they don’t get spelled away that is), Hogs, etc. And of course, Royal Giants(Ugh).

Clash Royale KnightKnight: Utility man.

He just counters so many troops it’s hard not to have him in a deck.

e might need help against tanks and swarms, but he soaks up damage and kills troops like Bandit and E-wiz.

Of course, the most famous example of when you’d be using him against is Mega Knight. On your side, an unsupported Mega Knight will be shut down by Knight, and if they do add supports, add your own.

He also can counter E-Barbarians if Goblin Gang goes down, better paired with Ice Spirit.

Overall a great card to have.

Clash Royale The LogThe Log

Use it against Goblin Barrels or to finish off support troops(when Knight isn’t in hand). If they don’t have Goblin Barrel, you can use it against the other spell bait-common troops like Princess and Goblin Gang.

Don’t forget that you also have Goblin Gang and Fire Spirits to deal with Barrel as well. Other than that, pretty simple.

Clash Royale mirrorMirror

Surprise! I have 2 counters to your obnoxious troops!

Knight not in hand and they rush with E-Barb+Zap? Put down the Gang, then when they Zap it, PUT IT DOWN AGAIN!

It’s just so satisfying to have a second Gang or a second Knight to counter that pocket card.

You won’t be using it too much in 1x Elixir (as it causes some Elixir disadvantages) but in 2x Elixir, my favorite move is to Mirror the Rocket to finish them off.

Just make sure they can’t get your Tower first and the 2 Rockets can get you the win (add Log if necessary).

The higher level, the better it is.

Replacements and Card Levels:

The card levels for commons (Especially spirits) should match your opponent’s king Tower levels.

If you face level 10 opponents a lot, make it number 1 priority to level up the Spirits first, then the Goblin Gang(so that they survive Zap), then the Knight.

Dart Goblin should be no more than 3 levels under the opponent’s king Tower level. This way Dart Goblin will always get 4 hits off at full health.

Rocket sort of doesn’t matter, but better if higher.

Mirror should be no less than 5 levels lower to common cards, 3 levels lower to rare cards, and 2 levels higher to legendary cards so that the mirrored card levels are 1 level higher. If you have level 6 Dart Goblins, Mirror should be level 3. If you have a level 10 Knight, Mirror should be level 5, etc.

Log is fine unless you face level 13 Goblins in which case, level 2.

Clash Royale Fire Spiritsekf9WOpClash Royale ArrowsClash Royale fireballClash Royale Tornado

Clash Royale Ice Spiritekf9WOpClash Royale ZapClash Royale SkeletonClash Royale Bats

The level up priorities are from highest to lowest:

  1. Ice Spirit
  2. Fire Spirits
  3. Goblin Gang
  4. Dart Goblin
  5. Knight
  6. Rocket
  7. Mirror
  8. Log

If you made the common Zap for Log replacement, Zap is number one priority.

Gameplan:

Chip damage.

Not much else to say.

Start off with Ice Spirit, Fire Spirits, Goblin Gang, or Dart Goblin at the bridge, or Knight at the back.

Rocket any Pump and support troops next to a Tower.

Pro tip: If you know your opponent is running beatdown, wait till the support troop gets near the bridge, and when they drop their tank in front of the support troop, Rocket it.

This will make it easier to deal with the tank as you only need a Knight or a Dart Goblin. Your pushes will almost always be split lane, for example Ice Spirit+Fire Spirits on one lane, Goblin Gang on the other.

The side that has less health should be the side you attack, while the other side is enough of a threat. So like in the Gang and Spirits example, Goblin Gang would deal more damage so use them on the side with less health.

Figure out what spells your opponent has, and adjust accordingly.

You will want Goblin Gang and Dart Goblin on defense, so usually sacrifice the spirits(unless they use something like Minion Hordes, in that case save the spirits).

Get enough chip damage to be able to Rocket away your opponent to victory, and you should be all set.

Make sure you know how to counter your opponent’s cards before you do anything risky on offense.

Don’t waste your Gobin Gang if the opponent has Elite Barbarians.

If you don’t have Mirror or Knight, you’re going to waste your other counters to their cards overdefending and will probably lose the game.

However do note that cycling is not a problem with this deck. It’s one of the benefits.

It is also great in Tournaments since the spirits will connect, and Zap won’t get rid off Goblin Gang.

Matchups:

Clash Royale GolemGolem: The hardest one.

Beatdown is hard enough, but a well supported Golem mitigated with a Knight and Goblin Gang.

You will need Dart Goblin in the middle (on the opposite side so that it still attacks the Golem), Knight on the supports and Goblin Gang on the Golem.

Toss in the spirits to buy time and if you can, Rocket all of the supports.

Usually troops like Night Witch will dominate because the Rocket can’t get the spawned Bats after death. You will definitely lose a crown, so try to get as much damage in on both sides, and make sure you take a Tower.

If they race you, just make sure your whole push won’t get spelled away and have Knight tanking.

Clash Royale Lava HoundLavaloon

Haven’t seen a lot of these, but if you come across one, you have both spirits, Mirror, and Dart Goblin.

Rocket them to death, or Rocket the Balloon in a pinch.

Clash Royale Mega KnightMega Knight/P.E.K.K.A

Knight for Mega Knight, Goblin Gang, Mirror, Dart Goblin, and/or Knight for P.E.K.K.A.

Toss in spirits if needed, Rocket them to death.

Clash Royale GiantGiant

Goblin Gang, Dart Goblin, and/or Ice Spirit for Giant, Knight on support.

Get value out of Rocket, and pretty much chip them to death.

Clash Royale X-BowSiege

For once, YOU CAN ACTUALLY OUT CYCLE THEM.

You can either Rocket the X-Bow, or have Knight tank while you Log and Dart Goblin their troops away.

The better Rocket cycler wins.

Clash Royale MinerMoison

Knight.

Clash Royale GraveyardGraveyard

Dart Goblin behind your king Tower, Knight for the mini-tank, and Log and Gang if necessary.

Should be pretty easy.

Clash Royale Hog RiderHog Rider

Out cycle your opponent’s Goblin Gang counters, and distract the Hog support with Knight. Dart Goblin if necessary.

Rocket them to death, and when you Rocket, make sure you have Ice Spirit in hand.

Clash Royale Royal GiantCancer decks

Just Rocket them to death, Knight, Spirits, Mirror, and/orGang for either Royal Giant or Elite Barbarians.

In a pinch, you can try to Rocket the E-Barbarians away(takes practice though).

That’s all folks, and since this deck is so weirdly effective and catches people off-guard, you can get 1-0 wins with it.

Have fun messing around with it, and until then, have a clashtastic day!

How to use the Balloon – The Basic Guide

154
Clash royale balloon

Hello everybody! It’s NebulaNoodle again, with my TENTH guide!

I’ve celebrated by making an awesome guide all about my favorite win condition, the Balloon.

Since the early arenas, when I obtained it, I used it in Giant-Loon to push to Arena 7 and been a frequent Balloon Cycle user all my life. I recently upgraded this card to get my FIRST lvl 5 epic! Hope you enjoy!

Clash royale balloon

Basics

Hit Speed Speed Deploy Time Range Target Cost
3 sec Medium 1 sec Melee Buildings 5
Level Hitpoints Damage per Hit Damage per second Death Damage
1 1,050 600 200 205
2 1,155 660 220 225
3 1,270 726 242 248
4 1,396 798 266 272
5 1,533 876 292 299
6 1,680 960 320 328
7 1,848 1,056 352 360
8 2,026 1,158 386 395

The Balloon is a building-targeting flying troop, which deals huge damage with each hit, but has a slow hit speed.

The Death Bomb, when dropped, can kill Goblins, Princesses, Skeletons (obviously), Minions, and bring most glass cannons to half health.
The Balloon is not extremely tanky, and can be taken out by most glass cannons, therefore, the Balloon should be used with a tank, either in a fast paced or slow paced deck.

Strategies

It’s clearly a win condition, and completely useless for defense (except for last-minute kiting for a clutch win, I guess.

As I mentioned before, the Balloon works best with a tank, but you could potentially have a Balloon Rage or Balloon Freeze deck with no tank.

You can use the Balloon as a main win condition, where you should have heavy protection for the Balloon or a fast cycle, or as a secondary win condition or threat card.

Non-damaging spell cards like Clone are extremely deadly if used properly with the Balloon.

Even if the Balloon doesn’t make it to the tower, the two death bombs will deal immense damage!

And if the cloned Balloon and real Balloon both hit the towers, they can take out a tower in a matter of seconds.

When going against Balloon, always be prepared for a pre-placed spell.

Know their cycle and know if you can cycle to your counters. Always have sufficient air defense!

Best Counters to Balloon

Just watch out for spells, especially if you use Minion Horde as your main Balloon defense.

Always have another reliable air defense in your deck!

Most Effective Two-Card Synergies

Clash Royale Ice GolemClash Royale Balloon

This is a really good punishing combo, often seen in fast-paced Miner Balloon decks by the pros.

The Ice Golem’s frost nova brings Minions’ health down to zap range, which also is extremely helpful.

Clash Royale BalloonClash Royale Ice Spirit

A very effective strategy.

Fire Spirits bring down glass cannons to pretty low health and also deal great damage to the crown towers.

Again, a punishing strategy.

Clash Royale Lava HoundClash Royale Balloon

How could I forget this? The days of LavaLoon dominance are gone but this remains a viable (and nostalgic) combo.

Simple, right? Balloon behind Lava Hound, and get ready with your Arrows/Lightning.

Clash Royale Baby DragonClash Royale Balloon

A simple combo, often seen in the lower arenas because they are both flying units and many people aren’t prepared in terms of air defense.

Try this behind a Lava Hound in the higher arenas for a deadly combo no one can ignore!

Clash Royale MinerClash Royale Balloon

An extremely good combo.

This combo forces your opponent to split up their defenses or suffer lots of damage from either troop.

Here’s an advanced tactic: If your opponent counters your Balloon every time, learn from your mistakes.

Right when the opponent’s air defense is about to go for your Balloon, send in the Miner to distract the troop and allow your Balloon to travel unscathed!

Clash Royale BalloonClash Royale Arrows

Get the Arrows ready for Minions or glass cannons!!

A pre-fired (overleveled) Fireball burns Glass Cannons to the ground before they spawn.

Make sure you know their counters before trying this.

Clash Royale LumberjackClash Royale Balloon

Extremely aggressive, high risk, high reward!

One of the best punishing combs in my opinion- when the Lumberjack dies he drops a rage spell, elevating the Balloon’s threat level.

Best in 2v2 or ladder pushing. Very fun deck to play with.

Clash Royale GiantClash Royale Balloon

Effective in the lower arenas but also in the higher arenas!

A simple tank strategy.

Clash Royale Mega KnightClash Royale Balloon

The Mega Knight just wrecks everything which is killing the Balloon, and has a retargeting ability.

Giant+Mega Knight+Balloon is just way too OP when combined with spells.

Best Decks with Balloon

Classic LavaLoon (by Ash)

The original and best LavaLoon!

There’s Fireball to eliminate Minions and Glass Cannons, Minions to distract, and Goblin Gang as arrow bait so the Pups can deal damage.

Only use the Zap to reset the Inferno Dragon/Tower onto another target.

Mega Knight Balloon Miner (by Surgical Goblin)

This is a very counterpushing orientated deck, containing the Zap and Gang to complement the Miner, and three tanks for the Balloon: Ice Golem, Miner, and Mega Knight!

An extremely good deck with solid defense and attack. A classic fast paced deck.

A 2.8 Balloon Deck, fast paced! Minimal air defense so tower trading is advised against air-based decks.

My deck! Extremely quick cycle, great in 2v2s.

More of a fun deck, but certainly viable.

Try replacing Miner with Fire Spirits, the defense ability becomes stronger.

Miner Balloon Skeleton Barrel (by Regeneration)

Another quick cycle Balloon deck, with the rookie Skeleton Barrel!

It has incredible synergies and your opponent needs to react fast, and it punishes opponents very well for spending lots of elixir.

This one rocks! Check out the guide too!

Best/Worst Matchup for Balloon Decks

Best

Clash Royale GolemGolem decks.

Decks such as Miner Balloon and MK Loon punish extremely well against Golem, and have a fast enough cycle to defend very effectively.

Should be easy wins!

Worst:

Clash Royale X-BowSiege decks.

Decks like LavaLoon have very little ground distraction and often the Balloon will get shot down before it reaches the siege weapon.

Facing Mortar is also tricky, they have a fast cycle and usually a strong tank, and rocket to take out your Balloon.

Some Tips for you!

When facing Balloon, a well placed Tombstone or Cannon can shut down the Balloon completely.

Another tip when facing Balloon with a building is to know its sight range.

Hold down your building until you see the red exclamation mark. A properly placed Inferno Tower can take out a Balloon without the Balloon hitting the IT. This applies with all building targeting troops.

A tip when using Balloon, especially for new players: NEVER SEND IT ALONE!

It is pretty squishy and can be easily taken out with the proper units. Make sure to send in a tank. The Balloon is a very versatile card, being able to fit in slow beatdown decks (LavaLoon) or fast-paced, aggressive ones (Miner Balloon).

The Balloon is also a very good surprise card to use in double elixir!

Where is Balloon’s place in this meta?

I don’t see Balloon decks too much in the ladder, if I do, it’s mostly LumberLoon or some weird insanely heavy GolemLoon deck.

On TV Royale, you don’t see much Balloon either with the pros. But in challenges I’ve kept on facing Balloon decks.

The LavaLoon usage rate has waned, the glory days are over, I say!

Miner MK Balloon is still a prevalent and deadly combo, and Balloon Cycle is one of my favorite combos.

I don’t feel like Balloon should be getting a major buff or nerf, but I feel like the bomb timer at 3s is too long; at 2s it would be able to damage slightly faster troops.

I haven’t heard complaints about it.

What do you guys think about it? Is Balloon a balanced card? Yes or No?

That’s it guys, hope you enjoyed this Balloon guide, and I hope if you hated Balloon before and thought it was a no-skill free damage card, you have converted!

I put lots of effort into this so please drop a line in the comments about how you thought.

Thank you guys for everything! PCE <3
