F2P Hog Cycle

Clash Royale Hog RiderClash Royale fireballClash Royale ZapClash Royale Tesla
Clash Royale KnightClash Royale ArchersClash Royale Ice GolemClash Royale Bats

copy deck

Keep cycling Hog Riders during single Elixir.

Defend as efficiently as possible with Archers + Knight + Canon + Goblins + Ice Spirit while playing Hog Rider in opposite lane to pressure.

Once Tower is within triple digits -> Fireball cycle.

Woody Mortar Cycle

Clash Royale KnightClash Royale MortarClash Royale ArchersClash Royale Ice Spirit
Clash Royale BatsClash Royale RocketClash Royale The LogClash Royale Tornado

copy deck

High skill cap if using Tornado.

During single Elixir, get as much damage as possible with Mortar.

Keep pressuring with Knight + Archers/Bats if you know they are low on Elixir. Once you hit Double Elixir -> Rocket cycle.

If it’s a matchup you can’t win, force a draw.

Hog Tornado Cycle

Clash Royale MusketeerClash Royale KnightClash Royale GoblinClash Royale Hog Rider
Clash Royale fireballClash Royale ZapClash Royale TornadoClash Royale Ice Spirit

copy deck

Very high skill cap if using Tornado.

Keep cycling Hog Riders for offense during single Elixir as much as possible and cycle Musketeer for defense while using Tornado to give Musketeer more time to DPS down opponents troops.

Don’t be afraid to use Tornado + Fireball defensively in some matchups.

2.6 Old school Hog cycle

Clash Royale MusketeerClash Royale Ice GolemClash Royale Hog RiderClash Royale Ice Spirit
Clash Royale SkeletonClash Royale CannonClash Royale fireballClash Royale The Log

copy deck

Play Hog Rider aggressively during single Elixir and defend very efficiently with your cheap cycle cards depending on the situation.

Once Tower health is low -> spell cycle.

Hog Mortar Bait

Clash Royale Hog RiderClash Royale MortarClash Royale Goblin GangClash Royale The Log
Clash Royale ZapClash Royale BatsClash Royale Ice SpiritClash Royale Minion Horde

copy deck

Rely on the bait cards your opponent doesn’t have a counter to (e.g. if they have Log -> rely on Bats more for offense and defense).

You want to play very aggressively during single Elixir to get as much damage as possible than rely on Mortar + bait cards to defend your opponent’s push.

Be selective about the win condition you use.

If your opponent has Giant/Golem -> use Hog Rider and save Mortar for defense.

If your opponent has Tornado -> rely more on Mortar.

Mortar Miner Bait

copy deck

Defend your Mortar with bait cards and support it with Miner to keep pressuring your opponent.

Rocket cycle them out once * you realize your Mortar won’t break through their defense.

Also rely on bait cards your opponent doesn’t have a counter to as explained above.

Cycle Hog Riders and support with appropriate bait cards and spells to ensure Hog gets more hits.

Rely on 3 musks for defense usually during Double Elixir.

Otherwise rely on Ice Golem + Ice Spirit to kite and your bait cards to get value.

Get defensive value out of Bowler/Barbarians/Archers/Minions -> support with Giant and the appropriate spells.

What are F2P Decks?

  • It should have at least 4 common cards (preferably 5 at least but 4 is ok)
  • The other cards can be rare, epic or legendary BUT it must NOT be a level-dependent card.
Example 1: Goblin Barrel and Tornado. Past level 6 or 7, it’s very difficult to level up epic cards. Despite this, a lv 7 Tornado is still very viable and strong on ladder as there are no significant changes in card interactions. On the other hand, a lv 7 Goblin barrels get one shot by lv 13 Zap which is very common on ladder.
Example 2: Electro Wizard and Princess. Let’s assume you have a lv 3 e-wiz and Princess. A lv 3 E-wiz will get one shotted by a lv 10 Fireball (which is very common on ladder) and have significantly less damage and health compared to a lv 13 common. On the other hand, a lv 3 Princess is very viable on ladder because there’s no major changes in card interactions. E.g. lv 13 Zap does not one shot a lv 3 Princess and lv 3 Princess can still 2 shot max Minions and Minion Horde Furthermore, a Princess can still deal infinite damage if left ignored.
  • It should only have 1 Epic card because 2 Epic cards are far too difficult to level up
  • The cards should have good synergy together

Final tips

Choose one deck and keep practising with that deck. Don’t keep switching decks. This is a very common mistake people make.

Don’t ever donate the cards you use for ladder including the common cards. Like seriously

Analyse your replays and look for areas you can improve. Most people when they lose a game, they either keep playing while they’re frustrated or just stop playing altogether. If you want to improve, analyse your own replays critically

Commit to one deck. Only ever upgrade your ladder deck past tournament standard and leave your other cards at tournament standard.

If you have any suggestions let me know =)

Rest assured I know what I’m talking about, this is my Clash Royale profile.

Let me know what you thought of this guide and if there’s anything I can improve on. I’m always looking to improve 🙂

Best Tips for Pro Deck Challenge!

75
Clash Royale pro deck league

pro deck league

General Tips

  • Practice first few games in Pro deck challenges to get the rough idea.
  • Go through all the deck available and pay attention to the cards, especially the ones that are unique (Archers in X-Bow Master, Collector for Music Master’s,Goblin Barrel for colton’s and so on.)to each deck,so you immediately get an idea what deck your opponent is running and play accordingly.
  • If you struggle with a certain deck or against a certain deck, play that deck in friendly 1v1 battles.
  • Some decks like Hog Riders, spell cycling may have to start early.
  • The deck you get is random so pray that lady luck is on your side.
  • If you face beat down deck and they place their Golem at the back, immediately rush on the other lane as defending wont be good. Even if you have Inferno, simply rush other lane and kill Golem with Inferno.
  • When facing X-Bow deck, save Ice Golem to tank for X-Bow, or if you have infernos Dragon or P.E.K.K.A, save them for X-Bow. Battle Ram works well too.
  • Never over commit on offense using Poison.
  • In Mirror matchups, keep an eye on the win condition and spell cycling.
  • Keep counting cards too. Note when they will have that Hog Rider again etc.

Zap for resetting Prince charge, Battle Ram charge or Infero Dragon (in case u did not support your P.E.K.K.A with E-wiz).

Ice Spirit is cycling card pretty useful with the decks available counter musky to some extent helps defense with Ram,Prince,Dark Prince etc.

E-wiz for getting positive Elixir trades and some chip damage to Tower if he survives (around 200 per bolt)

Dark Prince and Ram are offensive cards sometimes split lane push is useful with this cards too.

Mega Minion is for defense.Take out BD and Inferno drag.

P.E.K.K.A is to be kept only for defense. Counter Prince, Hog Rider and Golem. (lookout for Inferno if opponent has Amatersau’s deck).

I don’t prefer to use Poison on supporting P.E.K.K.A as no Minion Hordes or Swarmy units are there. Well if you can catch a Musketeer then you may use it. Also can help with spell cycling in the end

Dark Prince and Ram are offensive cards. Sometimes splitting lane push is useful with these cards too.

Royal Ghost is a pretty good card as there are very few decent counters to it like Guards and Knight in this Challenge.

Magic Archer is very useful. If they plant an Ice Golem, then you can just get huge value by sniping their Tower from your side. Don’t place him near your Tower in case enemy has Fireball.

Inferno Dragon is the tank killer. Save it exclusively for X-Bow, P.E.K.K.A, Golem and Giant.

Use Fireball for cycling or when you get good value.

Triple spell deck. Use Tornado to activate King at the beginning vs Hogs or Royal Ghost.

Fireball for good value.

Don’t hesitate to use  Golem before x2x Elixir.

Guards are best for defense against Prince and single target troops. Vs Dark Prince and Royal Ghost, surround it first.

Support Golem with Night Witch (watch out for Fireball).

Keep Zap ready for Inferno Dragon.

Baby Dragon is also good support behind Golem or killing glass Cannon.

Don’t give them Fireball or Log value. This deck is about chip damage and defense.

New Meta Prince Bait Deck

123
prince bait

Hi, this is Heiny again!

This spinoff from Surgical Goblin’s Prince Bait deck does amazing on ladder. This deck is even more better since the Knight got recently nerfed.

Trick your opponent with Goblin Barrels, Goblin Gangs, and Princesses.

Card Roles

Clash Royale PrincePrince: Buckethead is a tanky high damaging pony rider.

This pony rider dishes out high damage. He will give you 2 times the pain if you get in the way of his charge.

Use him to tank for your Goblin Barrel.

Clash Royale Goblin GangGoblin Gang: Part of your bait aspect.

These little guys are meant to draw out your opponents Log or Zap.

You can also use these mischievous green goblins to punish your opponent for tons of damage on the tower.

Clash Royale Goblin BarrelGoblin Barrel: Your win condition.

The Goblin Barrel will do massive damage with something tanking the arena tower for it.

Use this card to play mind games with your opponent and make them screw up with your tricky barrel placements.

Clash Royale Electro WizardElectro Wizard: Part of your defense.

You don’t have Zap in this deck so the E-Wiz helps with Sparkies and Inferno Dragons.

Don’t allow your opponent spell value on this stunning wizard.

Clash Royale PrincessPrincess: Your favorite girl.

Her arrows fly farther than any other troop.

She also does area damage. If you use her with Tornado she can do lots of damage to many troops.

She will help to take out support troops against a big push.

Clash Royale TornadoTornado: A massive control card.

Use this to activate your King Tower.

Or you can sweep everything together so the Princess can get maximum value.

Clash Royale The LogThe Log: The Log.

Pretty self explanatory.

Select, drop, destroy.

Clash Royale Ice SpiritIce Spirit: A cycle card.

This guy can help you cycle to the cards you want while doing chip damage to the tower.

If you Tornado everything together for the Ice Spirit, it will freeze everything for a period of time.

General Gameplan

3:00-2:00

This deck is a very fast pace deck.

If I have it in hand I like to play Goblin Barrel on the bottom most right or left corner (anti tornado position).

I see what they counter with it.

If they drop a Log or Zap, I will drop either Princess or Goblin Gang in the back. Respond to what they play.

Don’t go offensive in the first minute. Keep chipping at the Tower but don’t over commit.

Try to get their Tower down to 1500-2000 in the first minute.

You don’t have a Rocket in this deck so you want to take the Tower quickly.

Against a Hog deck, you should make sure you always have Tornado in hand.

If your opponent drops a Golem during the first minute use Prince and Goblin Barrel or Prince and Goblin Gang opposite lane to punish.

You also can’t kill pumps so Goblin Barrel it if it is in the corners or Log it if it is in the middle.

If they drop a Giant or P.E.K.K.A in the back drop a Ice Spirit Goblin Barrel combo opposite lane. Then place Princess in the back opposite lane.

You will want to play Prince on supporting splash or single target troops. Then play Goblin Gang to distract the P.E.K.K.A.

You can Tornado everything together for your Princess. If they killed your Princess you should have cycled back by now.

If it is needed drop Princess and Tornado.

When you Tornado, you can also choose to drop the Electro Wizard by the Tower to slow the tank down. Don’t support any counter pushes in the first minute.

Know that you know their deck you can play a little more offensively in the second minute.

2:00-1:00

During this period of time right before Double Elixir you want to prep.

Try to chip your opponents Tower down to 1000-1200.

If you are against a Golem deck, don’t let them Pump up for Double Elixir. Either Goblin Barrel or Log the Pump, or you can punish them with a Prince.

A good push to take out a Pump in the corner is play the Goblin Barrel on the Pump then Ice Spirit at the bridge to tank against the Tower and Freeze it.

Against a Giant or P.E.K.K.A they will most likely try another push.

You should do the exact defense against your opponent. But this time you should support your counter push and try to take the Tower.

Something to be careful of is not to split push.

Without a big spell it is already hard to take towers.

If you focus both towers you will get neither and then get wrecked. If you are at ten Elixir play something in the back or go for Goblin Barrel chip.

NEVER play the Prince offensively in the first 2 minutes. Unless you have a significant Elixir lead against your opponent, you should only play buckethead on defense.

These pushes are leading to Double Elixir.

1:00-0:00

Double Elixir is when chaos ensures.

You will be cycling ultra fast.

Clash Royale GolemVs Golem

Punish on the opposite side but don’t over commit. Play enough to just manage to take the Tower or lower it to critical HP.

You should then play Princess opposite lane. Then cycle to your Prince and place him in the back against the Golem. Log and Goblin Gang the supporting troops.

Play another Princess but this time same lane. Tornado all those troops together for the Princess while playing Electro Wizard on the outside corner of the arena Tower.

He should slow down the tank long enough for your troops to kill it.

If that isn’t already enough, you should play another Prince on the Golem to tank all damage. Then Goblin Gang to clean up rest.

You can also Log if any troops remain. You should pressure enough so that they can’t get another push.

If your opponent can get another Golem push going your Tower will most likely fall. Keep playing Goblin Barrels and Princes.

During Double Elixir, the only difference for the Princess is that you can play her at the bridge for extra chip damage.

Clash Royale GiantAgainst Giant decks

Your opponent will probably play their tank in the back.

Again, punish like your playing a Golem deck but don’t invest as much Elixir when pushing against a Giant or P.E.K.K.A.

You should cycle with a Princess in the back opposite lane. A Prince should do the trick against the supporting troops with a Goblin Gang on the P.E.K.K.A or Giant.

Clash Royale P.E.K.K.AAgainst a P.E.K.K.A

Do not let the P.E.K.K.A target your Prince. Then play another Princess (if needed) and Tornado everything together.

The Princess should clean up the rest if their push isn’t dead.

Then counter push and take the lower Tower.

If they still try to take your Tower you should attack and go for the 2 crown.

If you get the 2nd crown you basically won. Even if they have a massive push going for your king Tower this deck can stall/defend long enough for time to run out.

If it is currently 2-1 crowns you, they will not have enough time to go for the 2nd Tower.

Just try to run down the clock and win the game.

Strengths

The deck has a very fast and strong cycle.

It cycles amazingly during Double Elixir and even during single Elixir.

The Prince adds more DPS to this deck as well as a big pressure unit. No one likes the look or sound of the Prince connecting to their Tower.

Buckethead may make me mad sometimes because he doesn’t have brain, but he does serious damage.

Even with underleveled cards, this deck can get you into Challenger 1.

Weaknesses

This deck lacks a big spell.

It is also vulnerable against triple spell decks since they can have spells for each of your bait cards.

This deck also doesn’t play an Inferno Tower so it is a bigger challenge against big tanky beatdown decks.

I also find that it doesn’t play as efficiently against Miner control and Hog decks.

Decks with really strong defense like siege decks is hard to play against. With a X-Bow deck you need the Prince to tank. The Goblin Gang will have to kill. The E-Wiz will help but it is a really hard matchup.

So your worst matchups are Miner Poison control, Hog cycle, and X-Bow/Mortar decks.

Hardest Matchups

Clash Royale X-BowX-Bow

You want to get their Tower as quick as possible.

Never get under 5 Elixir and always have the Prince in cycle for their X-Bow.

I wouldn’t play Prince right in front of the X-Bow but in the middle of both Princess towers and like 4-5 tiles above the king Tower. Don’t forget to place it same lane.

Princess and Tornado their supporting defenses for their X-Bow.

If necessary, play Goblin Gang and Log.

Don’t let your opponent get a lock.

In Double Elixir I prefer to stack princesses on the X-Bow and kill all their supporting troops with Princess Tornado so the Prince gets a charge off on the X-Bow.

If you have their Tower you can place troops right on the X-Bow if they attack same lane that you have taken their Tower.

With siege decks if you take one Tower, it will either end up you winning or a draw.

Clash Royale MortarMortar

Mortar is even harder to play against than X-Bow.

You should play Ice Spirit in the middle to distract the Mortar for a couple shots. Then play Prince in the middle and Goblin Gang the Mortar.

In Double Elixir, stack Princesses and don’t let them get a lot of Mortars.

You should try to have already gotten their Tower before Double Elixir started.

If you have their Tower, you can place troops on the Mortar if they attack the lane that you have their Tower. If not you will have a difficult time.

I would use the Prince to tank the Mortar shots and Goblin Gang in the tile closest to the river in the pocket.

Clash Royale MinerMiner Poison Control

Miner Poison control is very strong defensively.

It can cycle fast so don’t try to out cycle their counters.

You want to save Goblin Gang for the first couple of Miners.

They will try to keep chipping at your Tower and you can’t allow that.

First thing is to activate your King’s Tower by Tornadoing their Miner.

You will get most of your damage during Double Elixir.

During Double Elixir, if they Miner Poison, you should use the Prince on their Miner. You should then counter push with a Goblin Barrel.

You will have to switch up your Goblin Barrel placements or they will get you every time.

If they Log or Zap your Barrel, you can use Princess for some chip damage.

If your Prince isn’t dead yet you should support with a Goblin Gang.

When they send a Miner, play Ice Spirit by the arena Tower to Freeze the Miner, then drop another Prince on it.

If they don’t Poison, you can play a Goblin Gang.

You should keep Tornadoing their pushes or their Miner.

Clash Royale Hog RiderHog Cycle

Hog cycle is annoying.

Luckily we have the Tornado to counter it. Start with activating the king Tower.

From there, whenever they play Hog you can Tornado it into the middle right before it reaches your Princess Tower.

If you don’t want a hit from the Hog because it is overleveled, play an Ice Spirit to.

On offense, since it has great defense, you should switch up your Barrel placements to try to get a couple stabs against the Tower.

Drop your Princess at the bridge for extra damage and Electro Wizard or Goblin Gang against the Hog if your Tornado isn’t in cycle.

A Massive Guide for New Players (Updating)

new player

Hi guys this is Mohammad Irfan with another guide for new players.

It will cover almost everything from the beginning till around Arena 7. Will continue the series in a few days.

new player

The Beginning

Chossing a Deck

Well starting the game should be fine as all people are on same level (no legendaries for P2P).

The deck I highly recommend using is this one. I used to defeat lvl 6 king tower when I was level 1 myself. All cards were level 1 was just trying to see how high I can go as level 1!

This deck works great in lower arenas. I used this on my second account till around 1400+ trophies (and then replaced a few cards).

Clash Royale PrinceClash Royale Mini P.E.K.K.AClash Royale ArrowsClash Royale Tombstone
Clash Royale MusketeerClash Royale Goblin BarrelClash Royale Baby DragonClash Royale Knight

Some advice for using this deck:

The Mini P.E.K.K.A is tank killer with its high DPS. If you see a Giant Witch combo coming, kill Witch first then kill Giant, use support like Musketeer or Tombstone if required.

The Musketeer and Baby Dragon are anti-air units in order to deal with Balloons, Minions, Hordes etc.

Knight as always is the mini tank. He helps you earn positive trades with most glass cannon cards in low Arenas.

Tombstone to distract Prince, it counters him completely. Prince is used a lot here. In first Arenas, people don’t know how to counter him or usually don’t have the right counters.

goblin barrel Goblin Barrel and Prince are for offense. Barrel to chip away Tower.

If the opponents have Arrows, a trick that usually works vs new players is to throw Barrel at the corner.

Prince can be used to kill unsupported Giant then go for counter push. Also deals with glass Cannon and counter pushes.Use Zap to support him as people have Skeleton Army to counter it.

Arrows is well self-explanatory, Prince’s support, Skeleton Army killer etc.

Gameplay Tips

positive elixir tradeLearn how to get positive Elixir trades

Players in low Arenas are not very skilled so focus on getting positive Elixir trades.

Don’t overcommit on any push (unless you use beatdown).

Watch your replays

To see where you lost and sometimes where you won too. It helps you know what could you have done better.

The best part is that you can also see your opponent’s and your Elixir bar and cards which is very helpful. Sadly, not many players do that (watching replays).

Each cards comes again in your hand after playing 4 cards same goes for you opponents.

Keep that in mind for your hard counter or any cards that you have to counter their win-condition.

Keep track of the opponent’s cards

Might be tough at the beginning but you will get used to it. This is another reason to watch replay give you a better idea.

Read more about the best tips for tracking opponent’s cards at here.

positive elixir trade 2Keep tracking opponent’s Elixir

This is even tougher than remembering cards but helps a lot.

Even if you can get a precise idea just a rough idea, it might be enough.

For example if they Zap your Skeleton Army after they reached your Tower (with a huge push), it means they have just barely enough for Zap at that moment.

You can rush the opposite lane or counter their push positively then go for counter push (attacking same lame by supporting left-over troops) or split lane-push (attacking both lane).

Learn the best ways to manage your Elixir at here.

Join a Clan

Joining a Clan as early as possible is very good as you can get cards and level them up quickly enough (especially those commons).

Also at the beginning, donations, trades, and war rewards are a blessing. make sure you join a clan that devotes towards clan chest.

Check out the clan for this website too, just search clash.world.

search Clash Royale clan

A decent search in case you are looking for Clan.

Gems and Gold

The two most important things a CR player needs.

Gold can be obtained easily, used for upgrading cards or buying cards in shop. Gems on the other hand is harder to obtain and used for a lot of purposes.

goldGold

Just because it is easily to be obtain does not means you can waste it!

Do not upgrade cards you don’t use.

I know we can get a lot of EXP but on my main account this was the mistake I did. I kept on upgrading all my cards to level up faster and it costs me now when I don’t have gold to get my commons to lvl 10 etc.

On my second account I did not repeat this mistake and it’s doing pretty decent right now.(3000+trophy at lvl 7 king and lvl 6 commons n lvl 4 rares).I don’t play on that much though.

How to earn gold

  • From chests. Almost every chest has Gold. Read more at here.
  • Donate cards. 1 common gives 5 gold, 1 Rare gives 50 gold and 1 Epic gives 500 gold. This is another good reason for not leveling up all cards as you can donate the cards you don’t use, especially those Epics.
  • Daily Battles: You get some Gold from daily battles. Although it’s pretty low but still everything counts.
  • Gold Rush:You can get a decent amount of Gold from this event.

Where to spend gold?

  • Buy Cards you use: In the shop, if you see a card that you use in your deck, consider buying it with gold.
  • Upgrade cards: Spend gold on the cards that you want to upgrade obviously. And make sure you will stick with those cards for a long time.  If you have enough Gold to either upgrade card A to level 9 or card B to level 6, upgrade the card A to level 9.
  • To buy Legendaries in shop. As a F2P player, this is one of the only ways to get the specific Legendary you want. However, since the odds of getting a legendary are higher and you can trade for them.

gemGems

The ultimate currency in almost any game right now.

Can be obtained via various ways.

How to earn Gems?

  • By unlocking Chests. Read more at here.
  • By completing quests.
  • By gettinig it for free sometimes in shop.
  • Playing in Gem Rush event.

How to spend gems?

You should take a look at this guide for more details.

In short, spend them all in Challenges.

Cards You Should Focus On First

Clash Royale KnightClash Royale ArchersClash Royale ZapClash Royale MinionsClash Royale MusketeerClash Royale Mini P.E.K.K.AClash Royale Hog RiderClash Royale GiantClash Royale Wizard

As a new player, you will want to focus on cards which can be used on both Challenges and Ladder. Also, the cards shouldn’t lose their powers throughout metas and can be used in a wide variety of decks.

Clash Royale PoisonPoison: Your medium spell.

This will help kill Skeleton Armies, Minion Hordes, and Goblin Gangs.

Use it in combination with the Miner for maximum efficiency.

Clash Royale TornadoTornado: Tornado is a big control card.

It will group together troops so the Magic Archer can splash on all of them.

Clash Royale The LogLog: The Log’s main use is for killing ground swarms.

Save it to kill Princesses, Goblin barrels, or Goblin Gangs.

The Log is always great card since it can knock back any ground troop.

Clash Royale MinionsMinions: Use the Minions for a cheap defense and a great combo with the Miner.

The Minions are your second air defense.

They will kill Balloons, Lava Hounds and Pups and almost all other air troops.

Clash Royale Goblin GangGoblin Gang: These are your ground defense.

They will shred through most tanks and soak up hits against a Prince or P.E.K.K.A.

Don’t become predictable and lose the game because your opponent predicted this card, mix it up (Also Guards may also work well, but I like Goblin Gang more with the Miner).

General Gameplan

Single Elixir

This is a control deck.

Utilize all of your cards for maximum damage.

During single Elixir, you should slowly chip on your opponent’s Tower while minimize incoming damage.

You should be very careful with playing your P.E.K.K.A since she costs a ton of Elixir.

Use the Miner to chip a couple hundred damage off your opponent’s Tower.

You want to try to activate the King’s Tower in the first minute in order to deal with Hog Riders, Goblin Barrels, Miners and more.

During the very first 30 seconds, send a Miner and maybe some Minions to figure out your opponents counters. See if they have a card to melt your P.E.K.K.A.

Also figure out what their spells are and what archetypes they are playing.

Double Elixir

During Double Elixir is when you go all out.

If your opponent doesn’t play anything, you should start a P.E.K.K.A in the back.

Don’t allow them spell value when stacking a push.

You should then put a Magic Archer in the very back corner once the P.E.K.K.A passes the arena Tower.

Once the P.E.K.K.A walks onto the bridge put Minions in the left most corner and make sure the arena Tower targets the P.E.K.K.A.

Play your Miner onto any glass cannons or splash attackers they defend with (Executioner, Musketeer, Princess, Dart Goblin, Etc.)

Even if your P.E.K.K.A doesn’t get to the Tower, your Miner and Minions should survive and do a lot of damage if not you have 2 options.

You can defend your opponents push with a P.E.K.K.A Magic Archer combo then counter push.

Or you can start another slow push.

I prefer to use the P.E.K.K.A to soak up the damage from the supporting troops while using Magic Archer + Tornado to kill everything. Then add Miner + Minions + Poison.

Keep doing this until you get their Tower but never over commit. You want to always defend your Tower first.

Your main pushes will be Miner+Poison+Minions Or P.E.K.K.A+Magic Archer+Tornado+Miner+Minions.

Most of your pushes will look like one of these two with your spells to support.

If your opponent overcommits you should punish him.

If they play a Golem in the back you should use Miner and Minions on the opposite lane.

Since this is a deck that has both Goblin Gang and Minions, try to bait their Zap.

If they Zap during Double Elixir and it is out of cycle go with either Miner and Minions or Miner and Goblin Gang.

Strengths

The strengths of this deck is it’s defensive potential.

With the P.E.K.K.A, Magic Archer and Tornado, you should be able to clean up most pushes and create a deadly counter push.

This deck also has the Miner which has been a very strong card in the meta recently.

Also with the meta having a lot of Giants, and Golems, P.E.K.K.A will easily counter those tanks with the Magic Archer shooting right through all the troops.

Weakness

The weakness of this deck is the lack of air defense.

There have been lots of Lava Hounds recently and Magic Archer dies to all heavy spells while the Minions will die to Arrows or overleveled Zaps (In ladder).

Against a deck with lots of air troops you should spread apart your Minions and Magic Archer so they don’t get spell value.

Also use Tornado to clump up troops for the Magic Archer to kill.

Don’t be afraid to Poison on defense against a Lava Hound player.

Once they play a Lava Hound you should go P.E.K.K.A same lane. Then support the P.E.K.K.A and try to take there Tower since you will most likely lose a lot of HP on yours.

Either play right lane rush and 3 crown them as quick as possible or go for the 2 crowns and defend the second Tower with your life.

Don’t try to draw with this deck against Lava Hounds. You should just try to punish them for playing a Lava Hound and don’t let them build up a push.

This deck is also a bit weaker against bait decks.

With the recent nerf to the Knight hopefully you don’t see as much bait.

Use your Log against the Barrel and Poison their Princess.

Also use the Magic Archer and Tornado to clean up swarms.

Additional Tips

Before jumping immediately into ladder with this deck, do a couple of challenges with it.

Preferably Classic Challenges because you can do many of them.

Once you understand it use it for ladder.

Also try predictions if your opponent is always playing cards in the same place. You can keep your P.E.K.K.A alive and when a battle just by predicting a Skeleton Army with your Log.

Try to defend smartly and not over defend.

Also play with this deck. Get a feel for it and don’t be afraid to change some cards or change your play style.

This deck does best when you use it the way you like best.

Magic Archer Guide: Best Decks and Replacements

magic archer vs princess

Hey there guys Lolman here coming to give you guys a guide on the newest legendary card, the Magic Archer.

magic archer vs princess

The Magic Archer Guide

First Thoughts

When I first played Magic Archer, the first thought that went through my head was overpowered.

However after trying a few decks with him, I find him more of a niche card.

He iss great on offence vs decks that have defensive buildings especially Huts etc where you can get a lot of value utilizing his range by sniping things.

Say you play Magic Archer behind a Giant and they straight up play Minions or Minion Horde when you have a Zap. This can prove to be a game winning play!

That being said, he’s not hard to counter, doesn’t do too much damage and his AOE isn’t that impressive either.

He synergizes well with the Tornado because he’s got a similar mechanic to the Executioner.

I’d almost say he’s simply a better Dart Goblin like the Exe is a better Wizard.

He also is vulnerable to Poison and Fireball so you want to utilize his range when your Tower is low HP.

Also you want to treat him like the Princess to a certain extent by not worrying about Slight. Ideally, if he has a lot of HP left, he requires your opponent to still expend Elixir to answer him.

His range and projectile range are the key factors so keeping that in mind, use him for the purpose you have him in your deck rather than say a Musket or an E-wiz.

using magic archer

Like here, for  a +1 Elixir trade (plus counter pushing Magic Archer which needed to be addressed), he took care of the Goblin Hut which otherwise would have been a pain in.
Keep in mind if they place the Goblin Hut too far back, playing your Magic Archer in this manner would be a waste.

using magic archer 3

Placement is key!
If you play the Magic Archer carefully, he can get chip on Tower plus contribute on your offensive push all while staying in the safety of your towers range.

So in a nutshell, he is a fairly balanced card.

A little change I’d like him to have is perhaps reducing his rate of fire and make him a little tankier so Poison would kill him but not a Fireball similar to Musketeers.

Cards that can be replaced with Magic Archer

Clash Royale Musketeerekf9WOpClash Royale Magical Archer

Pros

  • Far more range
  • Pierce enables potentially far higher DPS than a Musket
  • Magic Archer is potentially better on defense in some cases. (Vs Graveyard, Minion Horde, swarms in general)

Cons

  • Low HP; Vulnerable to Fireball.
  • Low damage point. Thus worse vs tank and single target units.

Clash Royale Electro Wizardekf9WOpClash Royale Magical Archer

Pros

  • Better attack range.
  • Potentially better DPS
  • Moves slower -> Better in Beatdown decks.

Cons

  • Can’t stun troops
  • Not as versatile without a spawn Zap.
  • Worse vs tanks, single target units.

Clash Royale Princessekf9WOpClash Royale Magical Archer

Pros

  • Higher rate of fire. Arguably better vs swarms.
  • Can’t kill Magic Archer for a positive Elixir trade.
  • Arrow can get needed damage If placed well.

Cons

  • Princess has better attack range (2 more tiles).
  • Princess has better AoE, synergies better with cards  like Tornado.
  • The opponents need to cross the bridge to deal with the Princess, giving invaluable potential plays.

Clash Royale Dart Goblinekf9WOpClash Royale Magical Archer

Pros

  • Better range.
  • Magic Archer’s Arrows pierce targets potentially hitting more troops.
  • Survive The Log, not giving out positive Elixir trade.

Cons

  • Dart Goblin has invaluably high rate of fire. Making him crazy good in many situations.
  • Dart Goblin is Incredibly fast, helping gain some needed damage easy.

Those above are potential cards you can replace with the Magic Archer and the benefits and disavantages.

It’s up to you to balance your deck to negate the cons, there isn’t really an instance where like prior to Night Witch’s nerfs, Night Witch was considered to be a better E-wiz and replaced E-wiz in almost all decks.

So the substitution is purely optional and up to your preference. I find he’s a really fun card to play so give it a shot!

Best Decks for Magic Archer

In order to use him, you must have a deck. So without further ado I will list out some decks I myself have used/ faced that I think will work really well.

Magic Archer Graveyard

Clash Royale Magical ArcherClash Royale GraveyardClash Royale Ice WizardClash Royale Tornado
Clash Royale Ice GolemClash Royale Mega MinionClash Royale GuardsClash Royale Poison

copy deck

This deck is a typical Graveyard deck.

One thing to note, no small spells, so Tornado Barrel to king Tower early on if facing bait.

It’s quite solid on defense, utilize Ice Wiz and Magic Archer with Tornado.

Key is bait out Poison with your Hut or Magic Archer then cycle to a Graveyard on offense.

The general idea is to keep cycling Goblin Huts and getting that sweet sweet chip damage for that 1-0 win.

Magic Archer Balloon

Clash Royale Magical ArcherClash Royale BalloonClash Royale MinerClash Royale Tornado
Clash Royale Ice SpiritClash Royale Ice GolemClash Royale Mega MinionClash Royale Zap

copy deck

High skill cap deck. Magic Archer, Mega Minion and Ice Golem are your defensive trifecta.

Using Ice Spirit at opportune moments and Tornadoing as well are required for good defenses.

It’s a highly offensive deck however, that being said overcommiting is something you ought to avoid at all costs.

Fun deck to try, can replace Ice Golem with Lumberjack or Mini P.E.K.K.A.

If you guys have more decks submit them below and might be added onto the guide along with a shoutout as the *creator* of the deck.

Conclusion

Magic Archer is quite balanced, not overly overpowered.

Honestly, a few days after release, I found myself replacing him in several of my decks, he’s slightly underwhelming. Though he is very fun to play!

If you have him, give him a shot!

Grind some challenges with some decks, and submit whatever decks work for you guys. Cheers, Lolman out.

The Best Decks for Modern Royale Challenge

modern royale

Hi guys, this is Mohammad Irfan here with my first ever guide.

I have been regularly visiting here so thought of contributing to this website too.  Thanks a lot to other players.

modern royale

Clash Royale Mega KnightClash Royale BatsClash Royale Ice GolemClash Royale Bandit
Clash Royale ExecutionerClash Royale Inferno DragonClash Royale Electro WizardClash Royale Royal Ghost

I used the deck above on both of my accounts, getting 2 6-0 wins in the Modern Royale Challenge.

This deck is a beast on Defense. As you can see from my Battle Logs, I did not loose a single tower on defense in all of my matches.

modern royale battle logs

Best Deck for Modern Royale?

Clash Royale Mega KnightMega Knight

This card MUST be only used on counter push after you have taken down their attack. Sending this card alone (or attacking first) is very dangerous.

The common mistakes that people made while facing me was they used Mega Knight poorly (all 6 opponents had it).

The hard counter to it is Inferno Dragon mostly so if opponents has that, support him with E-wiz.

Even with Jump damage nerf, he is still very useful in this challenge as there is no P.E.K.K.A.

Clash Royale BatsBats

I cant stress the importance of this card in this challenge as there is no Zap, Bats will get insane value for just 2 elixir.

It simply is very powerful vs all card that are available.

Mostly use it for defense. It takes out E-wiz and Executioner etc for massive positive advantage.

Clash Royale BanditBandit

After getting its dash initiation range reduced, it is now even better.

Just a reactive card does lots of damage if it connects to tower makes opponents play something.

Just a so good card for 3 elixir. Can be useful if the opponent has bad hand.

Clash Royale Ice GolemIce Golem

Mini tank for the deck but the most important use is for dealing with Mega Knight.

Use Inferno + Ice Golem to deal with Mega Knight.

If the opponent has E-wiz, play Inferno dragon in middle of your side and use Ice Golem at bridge to tank the bolts from E-wiz.

It should be enough to stop it.

Clash Royale ExecutionerExecutioner

I play with him with a lot in Ladder and CC’s so I like him personally.

He is a splash card. Not many splash cards are there in this Challenge.

When cards clump together in 2x elixir, he shines.(goblin gang is used a lot too by opponents).

Clash Royale Inferno DragonInferno Dragon

I got two words for you, Tank Killer. Or more appropriately: Mega Knight Killer.

It is also helpful in dealing with ground attacking ONLY troops too.

The switching between targets slower nerf did not affect much in this challenge and not many swarm cards are here.

Clash Royale Electro WizardE-Wiz: The best legendary in my opinion, gives lots of value stuns Inferno Drag (while supporting your MK).

Goblin Gang, Bandit, Sparky etc, he kills all of them.

A very versatile card to have in this deck.

Ge deals decent (almost 200) damage per hit to tower but needs to be protected If used on offense.

Mostly supports behind MK or goes as counter push with Ice Golem in front. (look out for Gang though)

Clash Royale Royal GhostRoyal Ghost

Invisible ability makes him unique.

Helps deal with Goblin Gang and another very versatile card for 3 elixir.

General Gameplan

You shouldn’t start the game first. Let opponents make their move first and play accordingly.

Use counters according to your opponent’s plays.

This deck is beast on defense, use that to your advantage and keep getting positive trades with here and there damage from Ghost or Bandit.

Only use Mega Knight after demolishing a huge push or to deal with the enemy Mega Knight.

Use Royal Ghost for GG, E-wiz for Miners.

Bats will be very valuable too here, use them to your best advantage.

Executioner plus Ice Golem can be useful when they have a number of glass cannons coming.

Keep your Inferno Dragon for tanks exclusively .

In some match-ups the game might go long as the opponents could have MK+Infernos+Ghost.

Just keep defending positively and small pushes with leftover troops. Use Mega Knight in situations stated above.

Cycling wont be a problem as you have cards that are useful in more than one situations.

In all my 12 game (on both accounts), I did not have any problem related to cycling.

I did not find much difference in 1X or 2x play in terms of strategy. It stays the same.

But if you don’t get a decent tower damage till overtime then go to offensive mode with MK.

That also only after taking elixir lead.

Retro Royale Challenge – Best Decks and Tips

91

The new Clash Royale Anniversary Event is live! And in order to get to the next stage, you need to win this Retro Royale Challenge!

Clash Royale Retro Royale Challenge

Basic Information

  • In Retro Royale, we can only use the cards that were released along with the Soft Launch, so cards like Royal Giant, Three Muskets, Dark Prince, Poison and all the legendaries cannot be used.
  • The card stats are their current stats, not the ones when they were released. So, build your decks according the current good cards. Don’t try to use the decks that were strong 2 years ago.
  • Hog Freeze is gonna be one of the most popular combos so you either use it or make a counter for it.
  • Do your best to get 10 Crowns as soon as possible to enter the next stage, the Modern Challenge.
  • Your card levels will be set to Tournament Standard whether they are above or below the threshold.
  • It’s free to join this Challenge. You only need to join one time because losing doesn’t matter.

Best Decks for Retro Royale Challenge

As I told before, Hog Freeze is gonna be popular. So I am gonna use it in the following deck.

Clash Royale Hog RiderClash Royale FreezeClash Royale fireballClash Royale Goblin
Clash Royale ZapClash Royale MusketeerClash Royale CannonClash Royale Minions

This basically a cheap Hog Freeze deck which is actually quite powerful.

I am not gonna go deeply in this guide as its pretty simple to use and I don’t want to face someone and lose against him/her who using my deck.

Just kidding :p.

This is pretty versatile deck which is strong is defense as well as offense.

You have the Retro (pun intended) Hog Goblins combo with Fireball and Zap which is actually pretty devastating.

Minions are probably the best card to use in Retro Challenge Decks as they are so good and versatile.

Use them on defense, offense and what not. Musketeer good support, the runner in this decks and a card having good range and DPS.

Cannon for defense against Hogs as you are gonna see them a lot probably. And Freeze the suprise element of this deck. Save it till you get elixir advantage and opponent least expects it.

You should read this guide about Hog Freeze for more tips.

Other Strong Combos for the Retro Challenge

  1. Giant Balloon
  2. Giant Musk Lightning
  3. Golem Baby Draggon Lightning
  4. P.E.K.K.A Balloon
  5. Golem Balloon
  6. Jason’s Beatdown Deck
  7. Balloon Freeze
  8. Hog Lightning
  9. Original Trifecta with Freeze
  10. Giant Skeleton Spell Bait( Might be effective)

Unbeatable Retro Royale Deck by Habagat

f2y6uoD

Hi guys, I’m Habagat and this is my first ever deck for Clash Royale. I’ve been lurking here for quite some time now and I though it’s about time for me to share some little knowledge that I have.

Alright, so everyone now is enjoying the new tournament called Retro Royale. It can never get as nostalgic as it is since the players seem to be transported to the past and play the game like it used to be.

This deck of mine is my go-to deck ever since I hit the Legendary Arena at Level 9 F2P. It is completely off-meta that can counter any deck types.

It is also, arguably, the most balanced deck in terms of offense and defense.

Clash Royale Hog RiderClash Royale GoblinClash Royale MinionsClash Royale Goblin Hut
Clash Royale CannonClash Royale Inferno TowerClash Royale ZapClash Royale fireball

Cards Breakdown

Hog Rider – This is the main win condition of the deck. It’s focus in attacking the tower – be it a one-hit or two-hit raid – can spell big difference in the outcome of the game.

Goblins – Cheap defensive troop that is good in either supporting the Hog Rider in offense, or the Cannon/Inferno Tower in defense, or in eliminating the likes of Wizards, Musketeers, or any solo troop that tries to attack your tower.

Minions – This is basically the flying counterpart of the Goblins. Good in eliminating the Miner or Goblin Barrel. Perfect support for the Hog Rider in offense, and for the Cannon/Inferno Tower in defense.

Goblin Hut – This building is the critical part of this deck as it plays a very important role both in offense and defense. Just like any type of offensive building (Furnace, Barb Hut, etc.), it attracts so much attention from your opponent as he needs to counter it with either Fireball or Rocket immediately. Otherwise, it Spear Gobs will hurt his tower slowly but surely. Later in this guide, I’ll discuss it’s very important role in defense.

Cannon – The initial counter for Hog Rider. This is also my main defensive card for Elite Barbs. Cannon plus Goblins can eliminate those Barbs with ease.

Inferno Tower – Best defensive building in my opinion. The good thing with having this is that most deck types don’t expect it, especially if I already played the Cannon. Most of the time, it distracts the opponent’s cycles and strategies especially those with Giant, Golem, Lava Hound tanks.

ZapCheap spell that comes in handy for the entire duration of the game.

Fireball – The go-to spell of this deck. Perfect for any kind of situations – offensive buildings, elixir collector, barbs, group of troops. etc. It can finish off the game as well.

Average Elixir Cost is 3.5. Not really cheap, but not expensive either making it a well-rounded and most balanced deck. Not to mention that it only has 2 Rares, the rest are commons. Perfect for Retro Royale tournament.

General Gameplan

Okay, so the basic start of this deck is for you to play the Goblin Hut and position it right on top of the King’s Tower (center)

I normally choose the left side since most players attack from their right. So the Hut will be in the center-left, directly on top of the King’s Tower. This position will also allow you to use it as your secondary defensive building as it will pull the Hog Rider or the Giant or the Elite Barbs to attack it once they are done with the Cannon or with the Inferno Tower.

In the process, saving your Tower from getting any damage.

goblin hut placements

Your next move will depend on his reaction to your Hut.

If he plays a Giant at the back, on your left lane, then prepare your Inferno Tower and Fireball since most of the time the Giant will be supported by a Witch.

When his Giant approaches the bridge, drop your Hog Rider in the opposite lane

The possible scenarios are either he drops the support to his Giant which will leave him defenseless to your Hog, or he’ll counter your attack with any troop or building leaving his Giant push pretty much useless.

The general rule of course in playing against Tanks is to never ever engage in a same lane counter push.

If he decided to change his focus in the same lane where your Hog Rider is attacking, then might as well shift your push to the opposite lane.

Disrupting his strategy will give you superior advantage since your deck is primarily built for defense and sneaky offense.

goblin hut placements 2

If the hut is not available in your starting hand, then you can try using your Hog as initial play.

Try to size up his cards and play your Hut as soon as it becomes available.

If he’s using a fast-cycle deck featuring Elite Barbs, the main counter is your Cannon and Goblins/Minions.

Maximize the use of your Zap and Fireball.

Remember that fast-cycles are dangerous in double elixir time, so the usage and positioning of your Hut plays an important role. But since we’re talking about the Tournament, no need to worry for the Elite Barbs, lol!

retro royale 2

Against the infamous trifecta deck user – Hog, Musketeer, Valkyrie – your Fireball plays an underrated role.

Their normal counter to your Goblin Hut is that they play their Musketeer at the back of their Tower. Then of course, when the Musketeer is in the bridge already, they’ll surprise you with the Valk+Hog combo making it a very deadly push. Not even your Cannon + Goblins + Hut can make a stand against that. So never let that happen.

Enter the Fireball strategy. Immediately after he drops his Musketeer, Fireball it. One Fireball plus one hit from the Goblin will kill that push. A Valk+Hog push without a Musketeer can be taken cared of by your Inferno Tower putting him in an elixir disadvantage.

The only loss that I suffered so far is against a Hog-Freeze user. And it was more of eagerness error on my part in the last 10 seconds when I tried to become aggressive.

Remember that the deck is meant to defend more than to attack. So choosing to become aggressive should be very much calculated.

Freeze user will often surprise you, but since you have the Cannon to counter his Hog, he’ll have a hard time deciding whether he’ll play his Freeze right away or just wait for the moment when the Hog reaches your Tower. But mind you, with the positioning of your Hut, his Hog will never reach your Tower, leaving him in a difficult situation to play his Freeze.

retro royale 3

Against the Mortar/X-bow user, which is very rare in the Tournament, you should be playing it with ease since you have the proper buildings to counter.

Just don’t let him surprises you, or else you’ll get overwhelmed and will destroy your cycles.
