P.E.K.K.A Hog Control – Old But Gold (Is It Dead Yet?)

pekka hog deck

Hi guys it’s RADIOACTIVE with my second deck here on Clash Royale Arena, a PEKKA Hog Lightning for Arenas 8+.

Yeah there are like hundreds of different variations of PHL but here is one that has proved very beneficial for my health and for my trophies.

Pros

  1. Awesome Ability to Counterpush and Crush (C&C).
  2. Destructive capability with the P.E.K.K.A
  3. Extreme Synergy
  4. You can make a push out of almost anything and take your opponent by surprise!

Cons

  1. No buildings (Don’t really need one tho)
  2. Contains nerfed cards (Electro Wizard and Lightning)
  3. Can’t think of anymore that actually make a difference.

Card Breakdown

Clash Royale P.E.K.K.AP.E.K.K.A:

I am actually starting to hate putting all those dots in.

Anyway, PEKKA is your main defensive unit. With a ton of HP and a big sword, this armored feminist warrior is brilliantly useful when it comes to countering impossibly large pushes.

Mega Knight? PEKKA. Archers? PEKKA (lol). Golem? PEKKA.

To counter the Hog Rider without suffering a shot, place the PEKKA halfway from the tower and the bridge, enabling her to mince that Hog into a nice pulled pork sandwich. Yum!

Clash Royale Electro WizardElectro Wizard

Yeah, he did get a nerf.

Yeah, he did see a slight decrease in usage rates. But, he’s still awesome. This electrocuted maniac still delivers great potential.

Not so much Hasta la Vista yet. Electro Wizard is one of your secondary units for defense, and is just brilliant for clearing up swarms and other stuff with his brilliant zap technique.

Clash Royale Hog RiderHog Rider:

Oh yes, it is him.

This guy has remained in the meta as a staple win condition for as long as time, and shows off his strength here today in this deck!

There are so many units which synergize very effectively with the Hog Rider, like the Ice Golem, Goblins, Ice Wizard, and EVERYTHING ELSE!!

You can basically do anything with your Hog Rider, you can send it in alone, assisted only with your Lightning or Zap, or you could brutally torture your opponent’s cards by adding in your PEKKA! Anything is possible!

Clash Royale Ice WizardIce Wizard:

As one of the Wizard fam, this chilly cryomaniac (Guess what that means) has the cold power of slowing down troops and giving them frostbite.

Who cares about why this isn’t very popular right now? It works, it synergizes, IT’S AWESOME!!

Ice Wizard is your primary secondary defense unit, and can be deployed with Ice Golem to counter many different pushes. Yep, it’s the Frozen Duo (Very cringey)!

Clash Royale Ice GolemIce Golem:

He is your favorite mini tank now with his huge number of hitpoints for such a small price!

Take that PEKKA for an evening stroll by placing your Ice Golem one tile left of the center at the bridge while the PEKKA is walking! Look at that! The PEKKA is changing its plans!

Ice Golem synergizes well with the Ice Wizard to distract and slow down troops that are coming your way!

Really, there’s a big hunk of stuff crossing the Arena? Ice Golem. Ice Wizard! PEKKA! Your opponent has been crushed! Obviously this won’t eradicate any push. Don’t comment below about how it doesn’t work, please. Like seriously. Not required.

Clash Royale GoblinGoblins

Yes, it is those green guys who learned how to stab and slash!

They are primarily support cards in this deck, but you can use them to your advantage as offensive placements, primarily one tile to the right of the center of the bridge, enabling them to get an extra shot at the Arena Tower, forcing your opponent to make the first move!

The Goblins synergize very effectively with the Hog Rider to create a makeshift offensive push that can crush your opponent!

Clash Royale ZapZap:

Your secondary spell, useful for swarms on the opposite side of the Arena or when your Electro-Wizard is not in hand.

Zap has been very useful for resetting units and killing swarms all the way back when it was given the ability to kill a Skarmy.

Clash Royale LightningLightning:

Yes, it got nerfed. But it proves VERY USEFUL in this deck.

Who cares if it can’t one-shot that Witch? It can stun and heavily damage the Inferno Tower, aid for defense, and can be used for last-ditch attempts to gain a crown and stay in the game.

All in all, whatever people are saying, it is awesome. Try it and you’ll know.

Deck Substitutions:

Clash Royale P.E.K.K.Aekf9WOpClash Royale Mega KnightClash Royale Giant Skeleton

Mega Knight is rather good with this deck with many different support units. However, he doesn’t have direct damage, which the PEKKA does. Giant Skeleton is better as a replacement because the bomb damage makes up for the lower direct damage. Use Tornado instead of Zap to soak up as much Elixir benefit as possible.

Clash Royale Electro Wizardekf9WOpClash Royale Archers

Archers? Meh. Electro Wizard does serve his purpose very well in this deck, providing as offensive support against Inferno Dragons, Towers, etc. Not really recommended to take Archers instead, unless of course, you don’t have the E-Wiz

Clash Royale Ice Wizardekf9WOpClash Royale Wizard

Wizard has greater crowd control than the Ice Wizard, but lacks the slowing down technique that is essential in the deck.

Clash Royale Ice Golemekf9WOpClash Royale Knight

The Knight is rather good as a replacement because of his higher hitpoints and the fact that he can attack. However, he won’t be able to lure troops like the Mega Knight to the other side of the Arena.

Clash Royale Lightningekf9WOpClash Royale Rocket

Lightning is rather useful here because of its larger range and the fact it can hit multiple troops at once, because the Hog Rider really relies on THAT to get to the tower.

Clash Royale Zapekf9WOpClash Royale The LogClash Royale Tornado

The Log does do higher area damage on the ground, but it does not target air, which may result in a Minion Horde taking your tower(s) down. If you are using Rocket instead of Lightning, then Tornado should be used alongside it, in order to maximize overall elixir benefit.

Clash Royale Goblinekf9WOpClash Royale Guards

Guards are actually rather strong is this deck as a replacement because of their shields and ability to stall troops such as PEKKA from getting to your tower. However, Goblins would be recommended because of their fast movement speed and attack.

Clash Royale Hog Riderekf9WOpClash Royale Battle Ram

Battle Ram does serve its purpose as a Hog Rider replacement because of its fast charge speed and targeting of buildings.

I literally just gave you another deck to use.

General Gameplay:

3:00-1:00-

Stay calm and keep applying slow pressure.

Neither you nor your opponent is likely to initiate a push without Double Elixir.

What to do while this period of time is constantly applying pressure by sending offensive Goblins, the occasional Hog Rider, and keeping your mind on defense and cycling  your cards into a good position for the following stage.

1:00-0:00-Double Elixir

It is my fav time in the gameplay.

It is time to go Savage. 2x Elixir provides lots of benefits, including no shortage of supplies, a quick ability to cycle through your cards, and an awesome ability to create your pushes.

An optimal one that you would love is PEKKA, Hog Rider, Ice Wizard, and Lightning ready.

It utterly devastates your opponent and leaves him crying.

Overtime-Not Exactly Optimal.

Well, if you have read this deck thoroughly and tested it out a bit, there is not much reason for you to go into overtime in the first place.

The push to end all pushes should really have occurred already.

Anyway, if you have your spirits left, engage in makeshift pushes or the one listed above.

Nothing else to say.

Deck Matchups:

Clash Royale GolemGolem Beatdown:

Kill those support units. That is the best thing to do first. PEKKA for the Golem, E-Wiz for the Night WItch or Witch, or whatever else. The Golem will only be allowed a few shots, and you will be ready for a great offensive counterpush.

Clash Royale Goblin GangLog Bait:

You do not have a lot of troops which can deliver splash damage, so keep that in mind. Ice Golem and Ice WIzard can distract the Princess and clean up squishy troops, and keep your Zap ready and don’t use it for dumb circumstances.

Clash Royale GraveyardSplashyard:

You need to keep your Ice Wizard handy. Due to his recent damage buff, he can one shot skeletons, and depending on his level, survive a Poison. Electro Wizard will otherwise be very useful.

Clash Royale MinerMiner Poison:

Not much of a threat. A nice Miner placement prediction with an Ice Golem can completely ruin his push and get a large Elixir advantage. Lightning for the Inferno Tower, and any other support units.

That is it for this deck guide, Clash.World! Hopefully I will get unbanned on Discord soon!

Miner Balloon Skeleton Barrel – Deadly Combo

104
skeketon barrel

Hey guys it’s Regeneration here back with a new Moisonloon deck that I have been testing out ever since I won the Skeleton Barrel!

Since the Barrel just came out, as an added bonus you will have a lot of people over react to it not knowing how to counter it properly! So without further ado, let’s get into it!

copy deck

Pros Cons
  • New!
  • Must react fast!
  • Solid defense
  • Well synergized
  • Level independent

Card Roles:

Clash Royale MinerMiner

Win condition!

Use him on pumps, Princesses, or as a tank on a counter push.

His stats are a bit lower than Knight, but if you need a backup mini tank on defense, don’t be afraid to use him.

Pair him up with Poison to chip off Tower health. In 1x Elixir, make sure you can get a value Poison if you use the 2 together!

Always start off with the anti-nado placement, and if the opponent doesn’t have a Tornado, start mixing up the placements.

Clash Royale BalloonBalloon

Second win condition!

You won’t be using Balloon in 1x Elixir unless you know you can wreck your opponent with a Balloon push.

One great thing about Balloon is that most people ignore its death damage unless they use Tornado. That’s almost 300 at level 4! You can easily get 2-4 Balloons in each game for a whopping 600-1200 damage from the Balloon alone!

Not to mention Miners, Poisons, and any other chip damage!

Note that if the opponent used Tornado, you can use Balloon when their Tornado is out of cycle.

Clash Royale Skeleton BalloonSkeleton Barrel:

The rookie! As soon as I got the Barrel I couldn’t help but try to figure out how to use it properly.

It has a bait aspect, it distracts well, it deals a lot of damage when left alone, and it’s only 3 Elixir.

I couldn’t fit it in Zap bait decks, so I tried another option: Miner decks. And it worked great! In 2v2 I was paired with a Lavaloon user and we ended up pretty good. That’s when I got the idea of using Skeleton Barrel with Balloon and Miner; and this is it!

Since this card is new, be mindful of a few tips:

Do not take out the Barrel it self; only the Skeletons.

I see so many people over react with troops like Executioner (despite the Elixir disadvantage, he’s a great counter), Fireball, and Tornado. No need!

The Barrel can connect all day and still won’t do any damage! Instead, use a cheap troop like Goblins or even 1 Elixir skellies to deal with the spawned Skeletons.

Overreactions like a Musketeer on the Barrel allows you to shut them down on their counterpush(Knight!) and allowing you to countercounterpush(?) with a troop that Musketeer would have otherwise shutdown.

Just because the Barrel isn’t a threat, doesn’t mean the Skeletons aren’t!

Don’t ignore them, they do damage on your Tower if you ignore it. This means that you can place it at the bridge to read your opponent’s deck(what they play). It also opens the door for your other cards(if they Zap early you can use Inferno Tower, etc.)

It buys time

Once I figured this out the first card I thought of was Ice Golem. Ice Golem however is cheaper, tankier, and distracts ground troops which makes Skeleton Barrel a bit awkward.

If the opponent rushes with E-Barbarians and you only have this? You better hope they tacked on Firespirits or you’re going to be crying ;(((

Distraction.

My biggest example is Inferno Tower. Inferno locks on to the Barrel, destroys it, and the Skeletons take out the Inferno. All for +2 Elixir. If the Barrel pops above a single target troop during a push, they will get distracted while you go on to deal crucial damage.

This also applies to air targeting troops like Bats and Minions(not as much).

Clash Royale PrincessPrincess

I must say this one was tough.

I love the Dart Goblin, however he has a war with Princess. Both fill the same role, Dart Goblin does more damage and attacks faster, while Princess snipes from far away. But I needed that anti air splash too much, and thus Princess makes the roster.

Place her at the bridge to get some chip damage, use her on defense on the other lane(or behind the king Tower if the push is that close), use her to take out Minion Hordes, etc

All around versatile card.

Clash Royale KnightKnight

It took me a while to figure out why he was better than Valk, and it’s his ability to make positive Elixir trades for no splash and slightly less health and damage (not to mention he’s easier to level up).

He’s your main defense against E-Barbarians, Lumberjack, and most support troops.

Use him against P.E.K.K.A if necessary.

Clash Royale Inferno TowerInferno Tower

Solid Defense for 5 Elixir.

Now that Lightning got nerfed big time it shouldn’t be too much of a struggle.

Never let an E-wiz touch it, never let any other troops except the tank distract it, and you will be fine(obviously you shouldn’t over protect it but you get the idea.)

Also your main Hog defense.

Clash Royale ZapZap

2 Elixir. Best when overleveled. Goblin Barrels, squishy troops on offense or defense when your Princess can’t get them.

Not much else to say.

Clash Royale PoisonPoison

Last but not least the oison part of Moison (burning Miner): Poison!

This is the spell which helps you win games when your balloons aren’t reaching; pair it with Poison to change this deck from Balloon chip to burning Miner! Only use Poison on support troops you know you can kill, and to get value. In 2x Elixir you can either spam Moison, Minerloon(with Zap), or Burning Barreloon(Balloon, Skeleton Barrel, and Poison).

Replacements:

Clash Royale Inferno Towerekf9WOpClash Royale Inferno DragonClash Royale Tesla

General Gameplan:

First Minute:

Start off with moves like Princess at the bridge, Skeleton Barrel at the bridge, Knight in the back, or Miner in the anti-nado spot.

Worst case scenario your hand is Balloon, Poison, Zap, Inferno Tower.

Figure out your opponent’s deck.

Second Minute:

Defend, counterpush, chip.

You should have a good idea of their win condition.

Keep your counter for their win condition in mind, and start to toss in some Skeleton Barrel pushes.

Poison should make an appearance around this time.

2x Elixir (third minute):

Now you want to do pushes like Minerloon, Moison, and Barreloon.

djust your deck to counter theirs, and by now you should have figured out how to counter them.

inimize damage to almost nothing, while you chip away with Balloon’s death damage, Miner, and Poison.

Keep in mind how will they try to take your Tower.

Overtime:

You want to be more aggressive.

If you can’t get damage in, just play for the draw, it’s easier than taking an L.

If they decide to race you, you will win against siege and beatdown.

You will lose to Hog, as he is fast (Just defend at that point).

Defend minimally in a push (Knight on Bandit, and go for the win.

Usually this is a 1 crown deck, so don’t expect a lot of crowns.

Matchups:

Clash Royale Hog RiderHog Rider:

Inferno Tower. I haven’t seen a lot of Hog Lightning, so you should be fine, but make sure you keep up with their cycle.

Clash Royale GolemGolem:

Inferno Tower. Distract their Mega Minion with Skeleton Barrel, and don’t let them build up a big push.

Clash Royale GiantGiant:

Inferno Tower. Knight will take it out with some hits off in an emergency(you will want him on the support usually.

Clash Royale GraveyardGraveyard:

Defensive Poison or if you replace Princess then Dart Goblin or Archers. Knight and Princess are mediocre counters.

Clash Royale Goblin GangSpell bait:

Zap the Barrel, Knight the Gang, and Princess the hordes. Inferno Tower is useless against moison so you can either use that or distact Inferno with Skeleton Barrel. Miner/Poison their Princess.

Clash Royale MinerMoison:

Knight. Try to guess their placements by dropping Knight on the Tower corners. Whoever gets more chip damage in wins.

Clash Royale Lava HoundLava Hound:

Inferno Tower. Zap/Princess the pups. If they use Balloon Inferno Tower should take care of it. However if you run into Lavaloon a lot(which I don’t) replace Princess with Dart Goblin and use him on the Balloon.

Clash Royale P.E.K.K.AP.E.K.K.A/MK:

Inferno Tower and Skeleton Barrel(if they pop early). Knight for emergencies.

Clash Royale X-BowSiege:

Balloon the siege weapon and Princess/Knight the support troops.

Clash Royale Royal GiantCancer RG

If you run into these a lot, consider replacing the Barrel with Skeleton Army/Gang and Princess with Dart Goblin. Also Knight for E-Barbarians, Inferno for RG. They usually get around these so you’re probably screwed 🙁

Clash Royale PrinceDouble Prince deck

This deck gets their special section because they absolutely destroy this deck 😐 Knight on Prince(he can’t be charging so Zap him) and Miner on Dark Prince. If they are paired together then GG.

Conclusion: I’ve done the best I could with the Skeleton Barrel; I hope someone can find out the best role for it, but right now I see it as a threatening Ice Golem.

Thanks for reading this guide, and I’ll see you until then!

How to get 12 Wins in Grand Challenges – 7 Proven Tips For You!

47
clash royale challenges

What’s up guys, it’s Corrosive Logic here with my ultimate guide on getting 12 Wins in Grand Challenges!

clash royale challenges

How to get 12 Wins in Grand Challenges

Background

It’s come to my attention that Grand Challenge have gotten more difficult, and many players can’t seem to be able to scrape up a 6 win in a Grand Challenge.

I think that the increased difficulty in GC’s is due to the fact that a lot more people played them when they first came out, but only the better, more competitive gemmers are playing them now; I mean my first 12 win GC happened when I had only 3700 trophies, that’s how easy it used to be!

I consider Grand Challenge to be the most entertaining aspect of the game, so I’ve played quite an amount of them!

From all my playing of GC’s, I’ve learnt the best ways to go increase your chances of getting 12 wins.

The following guide is for any player hoping to increase their Grand Challenge win rate, regardless of whether you can currently already get 8 win in GC, or whether you can only get 3 wins in GC, it applies to everyone.

I’m by no means the best player out there, but I can consistently get 9+ wins in GC, and I get 12 wins on about 25% of my GC attempts, which is pretty good in my humble opinion.

So I’ve learnt how to perform better in GC’s, the hard way… but since I’m a nice guy I’m going to share some useful tips to elevate your GC game!

Now let’s get into it.

Tip 1: Picking a Deck

Of course, how could you possibly play a Grand Challenge while you’re still being indecisive on the deck you should use?

While there’s a few players out there that can get all the gems they want from their daddy (or their own wallet), most of us average players have to make the most out of the few, meagre gems that we get from that birthday gift card. Because of this, it’s crucial that we pick a solid deck to use in a Grand Challenge to maximize our success rate.

Usually I pick the deck under a few criteria.

  1. Firstly, I always pick the deck off someone who has already gotten 12 wins (clanmate, Youtube, Twitter, Clash Royale Arena etc).
  2. Then, I want to know how many 12 wins they have gotten with this deck, because it could have just been simply luck! Getting multiple 12 wins also shows the deck’s consistency.
  3. Then, I think about how good this player is. The worse the player is, the better, as it shows that the deck is probably better and easier to use; I mean if someone like Marcel P gets 12 wins with some weird deck….is the deck good? Or is it just because Marcel P is amazing?

Also, you have to take note and pick your deck according to the meta.

Ground breaking successful decks spread like wildfire, so when a deck starts to work really well in GC’s, it will travel all around the place and everyone is going to start playing it.

The competitive GC meta also changes quickly, back and forth, with no pattern. I mean, at one point of the day I could play 7/10 games against graveyard cycle, then later that evening play no games against GY cycle. It’s constantly changing.

If you play one GC and notice a particular trend, perhaps you could another GC immediately after, with a counter deck to the GC meta?

giphy

Just do it!

Tip 2: Master your deck!

This is something that I have only learnt recently.

As a Youtuber, I try to get 12 wins with as many different decks as possible, it wouldn’t be beneficial to my viewers if I post the exact same deck over and over again, no matter how many Grand Challenge I win with it!

However, although it is beneficial for my viewers, it’s extremely detrimental to my Grand Challenge win rate.

It had only lead me to picking up random decks that people got 12 wins with, then playing and losing the GC since I hadn’t mastered it.

Just because it’s the best deck in the world, doesn’t mean you’re going to get 12 wins in a GC with it.

It was also a waste of gems for me, so I ended up learning that you have to master a deck before you bring it into a GC.

giphy

Get ready to master your deck!

In bracket tourneys, you might have to change your deck after every game. In in-game tournaments, there’s a good chance you should change your deck because anyone who’s in the tournament can see it. However, in a GC, you play one, single, deck… as best you can.

When I play a deck that I’m good at, it isn’t a surprise when I can get multiple 12 win Grand Challenge in a row.

So, to master your deck, you’ve got to practice it with good clanmates, tournaments, and Classic Challenges. Once you are extremely comfortable with it, understand its mechanics, know how to play against every matchup with it, and make little to no mistakes, then you can play a Grand Challenge with it!

For your information, I also made a video where I basically explain this guide verbally with gameplay in the background, for those of you too lazy to read it all!

Tip 3: Playing in an Ideal Environment

This is very important.

I have lost SO MANY games due to bad internet connection, or perhaps my little brother poking at my phone screen.

Before you play a Grand Challenge, make sure that you are in a comfortable, quiet place, with no distractions; not on the bus to school or when you’re waiting in line for food.

If you are at work don’t be sneaking a quick GC game only for your boss to catch you, then fire you. Forcing you to lose you and your family’s only source of income, causing you to be unable to pay your mortgage, and be unable to put food on the table. Worst of all, you won’t be able to buy anymore gems.

Similarly, as a kid, don’t be playing the night before exams, when you should be studying.  You don’t want your parents storming in only to see you shoving your phone in your pocket. Not only will this clearly cause you to lose the game, you don’t want your parents assuming you were doing….other things.

Playing in a relaxing environment also (quite obviously) helps you to focus 100% on the game. Haters call it tryharding, but concentrating at your maximum level actually helps enormously and it is definitely noticeable in your GC winrate.

giphy

Don’t play CR with bad internet connection

Another thing relating to your ideal environment, is playing with game sound effects on.

Playing with game sounds on, alerts you to things happening in the game.

For example, you could be busy defending your opponent’s push and not see your opponents Miner coming, but with sound effects on you can hear the digging sounds when the Miner is deployed.

Not only will this allow you to visually relax, it will save your ass in those super close matches.

Tip 4: Playing while Mentally Stable and Physically Healthy (DON’T TILT)

Closely linked to playing in a safe environment, this is possibly exaggerating it a little bit…. but if you want to make good use of those precious gems, you need to perform at your best.

Playing while angry, or ‘tilted’ is damaging to your health and your performance.

If you find yourself angry and impatient, put the phone down, and take a LONG break.

giphy

Don’t play when you are not okay!

I could find myself going 2-2 early in a GC, and becoming insanely mad. However I can take a break, come back and perhaps finish the GC at 9-3, which is better than finishing it at 2-3.

The same applies to your physical wellbeing.

If you are sick with the flu, you will be tired and your brain won’t function at the same level as usual, it will be more difficult to concentrate on your game and your reactions might be slower, more sluggish. Also, you don’t want to have a sudden burst of coughing or sneezing as you’re about to place the game winning rocket down.

Tip 5: Playing at Less Competitive Times of the Day – Or Year

I noticed that playing at different times of the day had an impact on the level of players I faced.

In my opinion, although I’m European, USA probably has the largest clash royale player base, and ultimately the largest number of competitive players. So, playing at a time when lots of other USA players will also be playing, will mean that you probably play a higher standard of players.

I find that playing early morning (around 11 am GMT i.e. 6 am EST), typically gives me a lower standard of GC players.

You can play around at different times and see for yourself what you think.

Not only does player standard vary at different times of the day, it varies at different times of the week, or perhaps when an event is on.

When there’s a massive event on, e.g. bracket play of CCGS, a lot of good players are so focused on these tournaments that they won’t farm GC’s and instead they practice with clanmates.

A precarious time for playing challenges is when a new card comes out that is game changing e.g. Night Witch. For the first couple of days all sorts of Night Witch decks were popping up and getting 12 wins in a GC could be either very easy or very hard, but the meta was all over the place so nothing you used could have been consistent. This could be your chance to rack up some 12 wins, or your chance to save your gems for another time, depending on the situation.

This isn’t just limited to in game events, perhaps something in the real world is happening that’s attracting the attention of everyone between the ages of 15-20 (which in my opinion is what most of the competitive player base consists of), which could possibly make Grand Challenge a lot easier.

These are very general suggestions and thoughts, that probably aren’t extremely useful, but some of it definitely factors into GC’s… just something for you to be aware of that’s all.

Tip 6: Be Realistic

Are you a 3500-trophy player, who can’t get 12 wins in Classic Challenges?

Look, I’m not going to lie, there’s no magic deck or magic advice out there that will get you to 12 wins.

Unless you have mastered one deck and you have extremely low card levels at your trophy range, chances are, you won’t be extremely skillful or experienced.

You’ve got to be realistic, I know Classic Challenges are so much more boring than Grand Challenge, but getting 12 wins in classic is much more productive than getting only 3-4 wins in GC.

Keep practicing, get more experienced, and only when you are getting 12 wins in classic 9/10 times should you even think about diving into Grand Challenge.

Tip 7: Avoid the Common Myths

There’s a couple of myths I would like to address.

Myth 1 – “Pick a well-rounded deck that’s overall decent against everything and doesn’t get hard countered.”

First of all, there is NO deck, that doesn’t have a hard counter.

Secondly, playing a deck that covers defensively against all archetypes probably means the deck doesn’t have any particular strong points.

You need your deck to be able to hard counter as many meta decks as you can.

For example, for those of you who have seen my P.E.K.K.A Hog deck, I played it a lot when Golem and Giant Graveyard were all over Grand Challenge. However right now it seems that 3 Musketeers is everywhere, so I switch to playing Graveyard Cycle. Don’t try and play a deck that’s supposedly good against everything, play a deck that works really well against the most common deck archetypes!

Myth 2 – “Don’t play Siege because you can’t go for the draw in a 6-minute game”

It’s true that Siege decks have a slight edge on ladder because you can always go for the draw in a 4-minute game.

However, this doesn’t mean that you can’t play it at tournament standards, because if you’ve mastered it, you’ll win with it.

ThatOneGuy, is a player that you might heard of, who won 50 Grand Challenge in a row using Xbow (Insanely!)!

Myth 3 – “Switch decks every time you lose a game”

I personally don’t like it when people say this, however there are some exceptions to when you should switch decks.

If you’re going to grind some Grand Challenges, try your best to do it with only one deck.

This is because your entire mindset will be based on the deck, its cards and its strategy. After a couple of GC games you might even find yourself not having to concentrate as hard, having known the deck like the back of your hand.

So, if you play with one deck, you WILL play better.

However, if you find yourself playing a lot of the same hard countering decks, then you can either A: Take a break and play at a different time or B: Play a different deck (make sure you are actually good with this deck!).

Conclusion

I hope you enjoyed this guide! This writeup is mostly for mediocre players trying to get a few extra wins in Grand Challenge, if you have any questions don’t be afraid to ask them below!

Bonus Tip:

There’s a top quality YouTube channel with 12 win decks, tips, and breakdowns out there, can’t exactly remember the name, I think it was like Corrosive Logic or something (wink 😉).

All joking aside, let me give you a very important tip on improving your game.

Repeat after me – “I lost because I made mistakes, not because my opponent has a bullshit hard counter deck or higher card levels.”

Yes, deck matchups play a big part in deciding the outcome of a game, however there’s always something that you could have done better in every game you play.

By reviewing these replays and understanding the tiny details of your mistakes, you can quickly improve both as a person and as a player, setting foot on the path to your enlightenment…in the arena…

Skeleton Barrel – Best Tips for UsingSkeleton Barrel

Basics about the Skeleton Barrel

Clash Royale Skeleton BalloonSkeleton Barrel is a common Card which targets buildings, costing 3 elixir and unlockable from Builder’s Workshop (Arena 6).

Once destroyed, the barrel spawns 8 Skeletons on the ground, dealing lots of damage. The level of Skeletons deployed is equal to the level of the Skeleton Barrel.

In simple words, in comparison with other cards, Skeleton Barrel is a combination of Goblin Barrel and Battle Ram, as in that the Barrel acts as a shield for the Skeletons as the Ram does for the Barbarians but it doesn’t deal any damage when it comes in contact with a building or if it drops to the ground like the Goblin Barrel.

On Offense

Tanks

Clash Royale GolemClash Royale KnightClash Royale Hog RiderClash Royale GiantClash Royale Battle Ram

On its own, it isn’t really strong as you can just let it reach your tower and then quickly Zap/Log/Arrows the Skeletons.

However, when used with other cards (mainly Tanks and Mini-Tanks) it becomes a lot more threatening. So remember to always use it along with other cards.

It is a pretty cheap card and if you get yourself a cheaper deck in Draft, you can use it many times and can out-cycle their spells so the Skeleton Barrel could deals lot of potential damage.

Don’t underestimate the Skeletons! At Tournament Standard, each Skeleton deals 67 dmg per second so the 8 together can deal 536 damage per second!! This can be devastating if they linger on for even a few seconds.

It can synergise very well with tanks like Giant, Golem, Lava Hound, PEKKA and Mega Knight or even Hog Rider, sort of taking Balloon’s place as a Secondary win-conditions in those decks.  This creates a Dual layered Push, where the tank acts as a shield for the barrel to reach the tower. While protected, the barrel can easily melt it down in seconds.

Clash Royale MinerMiner

The Skeleton Barrel also works well with Miner.

First send the Barrel and then the Miner. When the Barrel is tanking damage, the Miner can chip away the tower. Once the Barrel is destroyed, the Tower immediately re-targets the Miner, which now tanks for the Skeletons.

Clash Royale GraveyardGraveyard

Graveyard may be a good card to couple with Skeleton Barrel!

This is because the Barrel can tank for Graveyard a few seconds. And after its death, the Skeletons from the Graveyard as well as the Barrel can damage together (24 Skeletons in all, 1608 damage in all, just a statistic, won’t be seen most of the time in battle).

Adding a Tank or Mini-tank say Knight or Ice Golem can increase the strength of the push a lot!

Clash Royale Goblin GangSpell Bait Cards

It has the ability do well in Spell Bait decks as the Skeletons add another card as a Bait Element.

Bait cards are pretty OP in draft battles since it is not guaranteed to have spells in your decks.

On defense

On defense, it really doesn’t have much capabilities

It can be use against air targeting Troops to distract them while your Crown Tower does the work of killing it (For example, vs Mega Minion or Inferno Dragon).

Say your opponent rushes with Giant + Musketeer, you can definitely use Skeleton Barrel in this case. Let the Musketeer kill the Barrel, use a cheap tank to distract the Musketeer and you can easily deal with the push.

Basically, on defense its use is just like Battle Ram, the only difference is that it works only against Air Targeting troops.

goblin barrel spell bait deck

Hola Clash.World Community, I’m OnMyMomsAccount, and this is my first time submitting a deck on Clash.World! Today, I’m sharing this insane Rocket Chip Damage deck that finally got me into the Legendary Arena!

I have been in “Hog Mountain” struggling on and off for nearly a year, and I was finally able to push into Legendary Arena with this deck!

I am currently sitting at 3850 trophies. This Deck has 2 legendarys, both can be replaced.

This deck was also used by Pro Player “CMChugh” in Kings Cup 2. Without further ado, let’s take a look!

The Deck

Clash Royale KnightKnight

The Knight is a Primary Defensive Card, which is used to defend support troops, then counterpush with a Goblin Barrel.

The Knight offers insane value for 3 elixir, with his tankiness, and ability to fight back, unlike the ice golem. He can be used to distract support troops, while the Inferno Tower melts things like Giants and Golems away.

You can also pop him in front of the princess at the bridge to tank for her.

Clash Royale Goblin BarrelGoblin Barrel

One of the Chip Damage Cards in the deck.

I usually like to use him after my opponent plays a relatively expensive card.

If my opponent places a Golem at the back, place the Knight at the bridge and throw a Goblin Barrel. This will usually take a tower as your opponent has no elixir to defend.

He is a great card for chip damage, and can be used to bait out Log/Zap/Arrows.

Clash Royale PrincessPrincess

The Princess is insane in this deck!

I don’t recommend replacing her, but if you have to, I recommend Archers.

Usually, she is solid for chip damage. Deploy her at the Bridge, and your opponent will be forced to defend against her, or take alot of damage. Usually she gets at least 1 shot off, which is great for chip damage.

If your opponent has something like barbarians or minion horde. you should save her for defense, as she is the only solid splash damaging card in this deck.

Clash Royale RocketRocket

I recommend you use this on Elixir Collectors or you can get value out of it on the tower.

Rocket Cards that are 4+ elixir and can hit the tower.

It can also be used to couple with the Goblin Barrel, to kill any defensive troops your opponent sends out.

Clash Royale Inferno TowerInferno Tower

Used to take down Tanks like the Golem and Giant. You can often couple it with the Knight, to completely shutdown huge pushes.

You can also use the Princess to defend it from Splash troops.

Clash Royale The LogThe Log

Pretty self explanatory. You use it to wipe out cards like the Princess, Goblin Gang, Skele Army, and other Swarm Troops. You can replace it with the Zap Spell.

If your opponent has the Goblin Barrel and Goblin Gang, save it for the Barrel, as it does direct damage to the tower.

Clash Royale Ice SpiritIce Spirit

This Card is incredible for 1 elixir. It freezes the troop it hits for a whole second. It works great with the Goblin Gang on defense to kill a Hog Rider, as well as the Goblin Barrel to freeze the tower.

This Card is also a solid choice if you need to cycle, or defend a Minion Horde if a Princess is not in your hand. Couple it with the Goblin Gang to defend the Hog Rider

Clash Royale Goblin GangGoblin Gang

These Beautiful Goblins are another defensive option. If your opponent lightnings your inferno tower, place the Goblin Gang and they will cripple the opponents tank.

They are also a decent cycle card if you have no other cards to cycle.

Their swarm is really solid, as they can take out support troops such as the Bandit, Lumberjack, Night Witch, E Wiz, and More.

General Gameplay

3:00-2:00

During this time, test the waters, see what type of deck your opponent is using.

If they place an elixir collector, rocket it. If they place an elixir collector, they are likely playing Golem, Pekka, Or 3 Muskies. If this is the case, during this time, learn their cards, how they play, and how you play.

I usually throw down a Goblin Barrel or Princess when I can for some minor chip damage.

Focus on defense, learn their deck, chip when you can.

2:00-1:00

This is where you really want to counter push and hard chip them.

Keep spamming Knight + Goblin Barrel then defend.

If they place a huge tank in the back, punish, then defend!

Surviving this minute is crucial, as this deck really shines in x2 Elixir.

Try not to let them build up any big pushes

1:00-End

Time to kick butt!

Defend appropriately, then counter push! Before they can place anything crazy, keep trying to chip them down, and Rocket when you can get value out of it!

This deck is great in x2 Elixir because the cards are so cheap so you can almost always play offense and defense!

Just focus on not letting them get to great of pushes up, and chipping their tower, and victory will be yours!

Matchups:

Clash Royale GiantGiant

Use the inferno tower or Goblin Gang to melt him!

Clash Royale Elite BarbariansElite Barbs

Place a Knight or Goblin Gang as far as you can, but not to the point where the Elite Barbs won’t go for them.

Then, place an Ice Spirit to Freeze the Elite Barbs and let the defense do the rest.

Log them if you have to.

Clash Royale Mega KnightMega Knight

You can counter him with Knight+Ice Spirit, and he will not be meeting with your tower. You can also distract him with something and kill him off with the inferno tower.

Clash Royale Hog RiderHog Rider

You can use the inferno tower (If they don’t have tanks) But I recommend Goblin Gang+Ice Spirit, as the Hog Rider won’t even touch your tower!

Clash Royale X-BowX-bow

Knight+Inferno Tower

Clash Royale MinerMiner Poison

The Knight works great! When your opponent first uses their Miner, take note of where it lands, because that is likely where they will keep planting it.

Clash Royale P.E.K.K.AP.E.K.K.A

Like the Giant, use the inferno tower. If they Zap/Lightning it, distract it with Knight and Goblin Gang.

Clash Royale GolemGolem

Keep attacking.

DO NOT let them build up a large push or you will likely lose. Just focus on chipping them and forcing them to keep defending.

If they place him in the back before x2 elixir, punish with Knight+Goblin Barrel!

That’s it for now folks! I’ll be answering questions and comments in the comments section, I hope this deck helps you out!

Insane Balloon Cycle – Fire and Ice!

302

Hello ladies and gentlemen! It’s yours truly, NebulaNoodle, back at it with a crazy Balloon deck guide!

So recently I made this deck, trying to find a cheap Balloon deck which still had a decent defense.

With that in mind, I created this deck. I’ve been having great success in 2v2s and been beating my clanmate 600 trophies higher in a friendly.

Nevertheless, hope you will enjoy my guide!

off meta deck analytic

 Pros  Cons

  • Insane cheap cycle
  • Extremely pressuring
  • Solid defense for a 2.5 Elixir deck

  • Weak to Graveyard Poison
  • Weak to Exenado
  • No heavy spell might struggle to get damage in some games

The Insane Balloon Cycle Deck

Clash Royale Ice GolemIce Golem

Your only tank for Balloon and small troops.

He does very well with Tesla to shut down big tanks. Ice Golem+ Minions combo does very well too.

Kite master! Kills Skellies, Bats and overall offers huge value.

Clash Royale MinionsMinions

One of two solid air defense cards in this deck.

Kill any air troop taking only minimal damage.

Against Baby Dragon, one nemesis of this deck, surround him (sort of common sense!)

Place a Balloon in front of these three blue machines for a mean counterpush!

Clash Royale Ice SpiritIce Spirit

Huge value insides one little frosty guy.

Together with Zap, this combo kills Minions/Princess/Goblins/Dart Gobs/Archers.

Ice Spirit+ Zap does the same job Arrows does except the two cards itself are much more versatile.

Clash Royale SkeletonSkeletons

Cycle and distract, great to use to cycle while Tesla is doing its thing.

Help in clutch moments to delay troops.

Other than that not much to say!

Clash Royale Fire SpiritsFire Spirits

These guys are very underappreciated.

At the top levels, there aren’t too many people using Fire Spirits, except those guys using E-Barbarians (no one likes people using E-Barbarians + Fire Spirits!)

They kill Minion Horde and work nicely with Balloon working like moving Arrows, melting down Minions and Glass Cannons alike!

Nice when overleveled, they deal roughly 300 damage to crown towers.

Clash Royale BalloonBalloon

Well, you can’t have a Balloon deck without the Balloon!

One of my favorite all-time win conditions, with the second highest Damage Per Hit in the game (after the Not-So-Trash-Anymore-Sparky!)

I’m not a Lavaloon kind of guy, so I go for Balloon cycle, usually with Miner/Ice Golem. And always Fire Spirits!

Sometimes you might struggle for damage with this deck, try to get your Balloon to the Tower at all costs!

Clash Royale TeslaTesla

The defensive core of this deck.

The only heavy structure other than Ice Golem, and after the buff, now that it one shots Gobs and Minions, it’s much more viable.

The Tesla has a small hitbox so use that to your advantage, place the Tesla as far away from the troop you want to pull!

The Tesla can do work to a Mega Knight and P.E.K.K.A, especially when paired with Minions/Ice Spirit/Zap.

Clash Royale ZapZap

Your only spell, so use it wisely to accompany your Balloon to the Tower!

Best to overlevel it. Pairs very well with Ice Spirit or Ice Golem.

For reference:

  • Zap kills Minions 2 levels lower
  • Kills Goblins 1 level lower
  • Maxed Zap kills lvl 1 Princess

Replacements:

Clash Royale Ice Golemekf9WOpClash Royale Knight

Clash Royale Minionsekf9WOpClash Royale Bats

Clash Royale Fire Spiritsekf9WOpClash Royale Arrows

Clash Royale Teslaekf9WOpClash Royale Inferno Tower

Gameplay:

Best starting moves

  1. Either Spirit at the bridge (if they reach the Tower)
  2. Ice Golem+Balloon or Balloon+Fire Spirits (if opponents pumps up or plays heavy tank)
  3. Minions/Ice Golem/Skeletons in the back

Overall, you will want to be playing this deck very aggressively, or else you won’t be getting much Tower damage.

So every opportunity you get, punish, punish, punish.

It’s quite easy to get positive Elixir trades so use that to your advantage and keep punishing quickly with quick Balloon pushes, trying to get that one Balloon hit.

If the Balloon doesn’t get a hit, it’s OK. As usual, the Bomb hits the Tower, and the Bomb itself deals 272 damage at tourney standard.

Every little bit of chip damage will massively help you throughout the game.

This would be a decent tournament deck, or to hell with it, if Sudden Death came back I would definitely use this deck.

Remember, Balloon is NOT a tank!

Around mid-game, you will want to have chipped down your opponent’s Tower little by little.

Keep going with Balloon pushes, because this deck is extremely cheap and can outcycle most decks, especially Beatdown when they will struggle to keep up with the pace.

Cycle your Teslas on defense, and most importantly try not to fall back in Elixir.

Around late game and overtime, keep cycling your Balloons until your opponent cracks.

This deck is very weak to 3M specifically, so keep that in mind. You have nothing to answer their pumps but don’t get disheartened, try to play for a draw instead and defend with Balloon if needed.

Standard pushes:

  • Ice Golem + Balloon (for single Elixir)
  • Balloon + Fire Spirits (great for punishing)
  • Ice Golem + Balloon + Minions (costs 10 Elixir, this is the all out push for 2x Elixir and/or overtime when you have to beat your opponent to the next crown!

Matchups:

Clash Royale Lava HoundAgainst Lavaloon, you will want to keep pressuring and outcycling them.

They will probably have Minions/Minion Horde so use your Fire Spirits accordingly.

Minions on Balloon, and you’re good! Shouldn’t be the hardest of matchups, as long as you gain positive trades and take as little damage as possible.

You can cycle Tesla very quickly.

Clash Royale GolemAgainst Golem, your Tesla will shine.

Just make sure the Tesla doesn’t get distracted by swarms from your opponent so use your Zap/Fire Spirits and put Minions on the support troops.

Ice Golem will help to kite support troops away, like Lumberjack.

There might be a problem against their deck if the opponent has many anti-air splash units.

Clash Royale GiantAgainst Giant, see Golem section but Giant has less health so it should be slightly easier.

Outcycle their anti-air and you’re good to go.

Clash Royale Hog RiderCycle/Control:

Against Hog Cycle, which is very popular on ladder, don’t worry about keeping up with the cycle because you will.

Tesla shuts down Hog, just watch for swarms accompanying the Hog. Limit damage.

Often these decks have minimal air defense so spam Loons! 🙂

Against Miner Control, it might be a little hard. These challenge-oriented decks often have E-Wiz, P.E.K.K.A, Bandit, et cetera. Their pushes might seems very overwhelming, but if you can cycle defensive troops very quickly you might do OK.

Clash Royale Goblin GangBait:

No matter if it’s Log/Zap/Arrow bait, your Ice Golem will really help distracting and killing the pesky Bats/Goblin Gang.

Take care of the Princess as you don’t have a designated Princess killer.

For Barrel, use Zap. One reason why you should overlevel your Zap!

Don’t let them Rocket your Balloon AT ALL COSTS because you don’t have another good Rocket bait card, so outcycle and pressure and sometimes maybe double lane pressure if you can cycle to 2 Balloons quickly enough!

I often go Ice Golem in the back, then place the Balloon around the mid-area between your Tower and the bridge, then cycle quickly with Skellies/Ice Spirit/Fire Spirits then you’re back to another Ice Golem Balloon push. ON TWO SIDES!!!!

Clash Royale X-BowSiege:

Against Mortar decks, distract with Ice Golem and kill as best you can with Balloon and/or Minions or whatnot.

Reset with Zap/Ice Spirit.

The Balloon wrecks siege in general, so catch them when they’re low on Elixir or you have a good Elixir lead.

Against X-Bow decks, Balloon will be your best friend again. These decks often have little air defense, except maybe Archers or E-Wiz and Fireball.

Clash Royale Royal GiantSalty Ladder:

Against those pain in the @$$ses Royal Giant and Elite Barbarians, don’t panic!

For Royal Giant, Tesla will do fine. They might have Lightning, but unlikely as it got nerfed. Ignore the Furnace, and instead wreck them with quick Balloon pushes!

Against Elite Barbarians, Ice Golem+ Minions works very well. Since these decks often have Zap/Log, they don’t kill Minions unless they have overleveled Zap, which to be frank I see a lot of overleveled Zap with E-Barbarians. Ice Golem+Tesla also works nicely, but keep in mind a max Tesla can only survive 3 max E-Barb swings! Salty Ladder players’ only comfort is their credit card.

OK guys, that’s it for this deck! I really hope you enjoyed it! Stay tuned for more NebulaNoodle guides in the future. Until the next guide, Auf Wiedersehen!

Tips to Using King’s Cup Challenge Decks

“Viva La Sparky” Deck

By Clash With Ash and Surgical Goblin

Clash Royale ZapClash Royale Goblin BarrelClash Royale GoblinClash Royale Rocket
Clash Royale Mega MinionClash Royale Ice GolemClash Royale Hog RiderClash Royale Sparky

This deck is an almost purely offensive deck that leans a lot on Sparky for defense.

The only air defense being Mega Minion means you must never cycle your Mega Minion. Always keep it on defense especially if you have to save him for specific cards regardless of any situation!

Your typical pushes should be Ice Golem + Goblin Barrel and Ice Golem + Hog.

Early game, I recommend playing it like a bait deck so you don’t give the opponents too much value like against Mega Knight or Pump Decks. Always in the first few cycles, play your Goblin Barrel in the non-Tornadoable spot until they start predicting right, then change up placement, mix them up!

If you have survived Goblins after a defense, play them with a deep Barrel so the opponent’s Log couldn’t get both.the gobs, not your Barrel etc.

Sparky is your MVP on defense! Ice Golem should be used to tank for the Sparky while she melts away the push in a sense. Try to keep her alive for a threatening counter push!

Depending on the match-up, this should be either a bait deck or a Hog deck.

Tower Tornadoes Deck

By Clash With Cam and CMcHUGH

Clash Royale TombstoneClash Royale Hog RiderClash Royale SkeletonClash Royale Ice Wizard
Clash Royale Mega MinionClash Royale RocketClash Royale TornadoClash Royale The Log

This deck is slightly a meta deck, with the defensive core of a Tombstone, Ice Wizard, Mega Minion and Tornado.

Tombstone is just so important in this deck! Use it vs Hog, Furnace, Mega Knight. Each matchup will need a different placement.

Utilize your Tornado wisely! Unlike Exenado, Ice Wiz + Tonado combo lacks that DPS and splash so you will want to pair him up with Skeletons or Mega Minion, etc to deal with high HP units.

Rocket nado is also really fun and deadly! You want to ideally Rocket first and make sure you can Tornado right afterwards.

Always Rocket the opponent’s Elixir Collector, and also their Sparky if they play behind the Tower.

Try to use your Hog more conservatively if you are facing like a Mega Knight deck as well! Don’t ever use a Hog on say a counter when you are down Elixir and will be broke right afterwards for an example.

With this deck, one last tip is don’t give Poison value!

“Vitamin C” Deck

By Orange Juice Gaming and TMD Aaron

Clash Royale ValkyrieClash Royale Three MusketeersClash Royale Ice SpiritClash Royale Arrows
Clash Royale MinerClash Royale Night WitchClash Royale Ice GolemClash Royale Cannon Cart

To be honest, this deck is very tough to play vs others.

You should play Cannon Cart and Three Musketeers on defense most of the times!

Try to make sure you aren’t facing Rocket, then start with cycling 3M in the back, splitting lanes. with 2M on the side of the Tower with more HP!

Once you hit 2x Elixir, you can split Three Musketeers in center of the arena to avoid any Tower damage!

Keep up the pressure, getting good Miner plays and chip their Tower to death.

This deck is hard-countered by the Mega Knight Poison deck so try to get as much damage as you can at the early game.

Don’t give Poison value and destroy their Elixir Collectors.

“The Ultra Nytes” Deck

By Nickatnyte and Nemsensei

Clash Royale PoisonClash Royale Ice SpiritClash Royale Baby DragonClash Royale Zap
Clash Royale Mega KnightClash Royale Night WitchClash Royale Mega MinionClash Royale elixir collector

Make sure you know what you are playing against. This deck will give you lots of easy wins vs 3M but also lots of easy losses against P.E.K.K.A Poison.

Pump up and protect the Pumps, which can be hard against Poison but try to maximize on the fact that they Poison on offence!

If you are pushing with Mega Knight, you always want to use Night Witch with him so she can DPS down whatever is around.

Mega Minion is the 2nd priority and the next is Baby Dragon.

This deck with Mega Knight can do well vs the bait deck due to the limited ways to deal with the Night Witch and lots of air cards like Mega Minion, Baby Dragon.

This is a similar issue with Hog Sparky, try to make most of the fact that some decks dont have a lot of air defense.

“Sparky Masters” Deck

By TED and ATCHIIN

Clash Royale SparkyClash Royale MinerClash Royale Electro WizardClash Royale Goblin Gang
Clash Royale P.E.K.K.AClash Royale PoisonClash Royale BatsClash Royale Zap

Play this deck like with normal P.E.K.K.A Miner deck! The only difference being be mindful for spells (Rocket for example).

Utilize your Sparky and P.E.K.K.A on defense. Getting valuable Poisons. Not overcommiting early on is key! Just play defensively.

Having Sparky, Bats and Goblin Gang adds a sort of bait-ish element to it. Take note at this!

Because you have Gang and Bats, your opponent will most likely use spell on offence, especially when you play a defensive Sparky and they don’t want her to take a shot off. This is a double-edged sword because their troops could do more damage, but now you will be free to drop your troops after baiting that card out.

After that, try to couple maybe Goblins+ Bats or Gang to punish their mistake on using spell on offense.

Like all bait control decks, capitalize on mistakes.

“Misplaced Rockets” Deck

By Chief Pat and OXALATE

Clash Royale FurnaceClash Royale Goblin GangClash Royale Flying MachineClash Royale The Log
Clash Royale Goblin BarrelClash Royale RocketClash Royale mirrorClash Royale Bowler

This deck is pretty fun to play with. It is a throwback to the old original bait deck that came with the nerf of Zap.

Flying machine is the only air defensive card in this deck, making him very important.

In 1v1 situations, Flying Machine dies pretty fast so you need to make sure that the Flying Machine will not die first. Or better, use a troop to tank for it.

Bowler is great vs Hog Rider so I wouldn’t use a Furnace vs Hog unless it’s emergency. Use Bowler then use the Goblin Barrel on the counterpush.

Once the Tower HP is around 1000, use the last few seconds to Mirror Rocket!

“Salty Goblins” Deck

THEALVARO845 and ADRIAN PEDRA

Clash Royale Cannon CartClash Royale BatsClash Royale PoisonClash Royale Spear Goblins
Clash Royale GoblinClash Royale Inferno DragonClash Royale ZapClash Royale Miner

Really strong deck but not that strong vs Hog decks!

Always try to use the Cannon Cart vs Hog Rider. Then, play Miner on the counterpush with the Cannon Cart tanking hits. Once locked onto the tower, Cannon Cart can deal massive damage, dealing 203 damage per hit.

Do not rush with Cannon Cart if you are facing a deck with say Mega Knight or P.E.K.K.A. However, rushing against Mini P.E.K.K.A decks are fine, because you can defend a Mini P.E.K.K.A far easier!

Keep that in mind and don’t over commit.

Inferno Dragon is also key! You want to use him on the opponent’s tanks, or even locking on their Hogs. Be mindful of Zap tho!

This deck has a bait element. You can pair up Inferno Dragon with Spear Gobs and Miner for a deadly counterpush!

Like typical Miner Poison decks, once you reached 2x elixir, just keep cycling valuable Miner + Poison pushes to take down their towers.

Meta Mauler

By Molt & TMD YaoYao

Clash Royale ZapClash Royale Hog RiderClash Royale Mega MinionClash Royale Guards
Clash Royale LumberjackClash Royale Mini P.E.K.K.AClash Royale fireballClash Royale Baby Dragon

This deck is a bit funky! You have both Mini P.E.K.K.A and Lumberjack. And this is both good and bad!

You can use the Lumberjack as a purely suicidal card in front of the the Hog. You always have the Mini P.E.K.K.A on defense.

Lumberjack + Hog Rider is your go-to push.

With Fireball and Zap, the 3 Musketeers deck isn’t an issue, Guards are amazing vs P.E.K.K.A. Mini P.E.K.K.A can shut down Hog, Mega Knight etc with ease.

Save guards exclusively for defense! Guards well pretty well against Goblin Barrel for an example!

With Fireball, you can also spell cycle near the end.

During x2 Elixir, Lumberjack+ Hog Rider + Spell will be your ideal push!

Make the most of that Rage if possible and you should be fine playing the deck.

Golem Graveyard Deck Is Back! Stronger Than Ever!

golem graveyard

Hey guys Lolman here yet again. (Bet you’re sick of seeing my name up here but all the same!)

Recently I was playing a lot of Graveyard and I faced a Golemyard deck. Not this exact deck, but improving that deck I built this deck and had some reasonable success with it winning a 100 player tournament I joined randomly.

When I started playing Graveyard, Golemyard was my first choice of decks and I believe this deck is viable in the current meta!

So now without blabbing on I will discuss the cards in the deck.

Golem Graveyard Deck

Clash Royale GolemGolem

This is one of your win conditions albeit not your primary win cons.

Despite costing up to 8 Elixir, he is merely the largest tank in the game for your Graveyard.

There are times when you will rely on him but you for the most part will do majority of damage.

There are a lot of pros to this! Inferno Tower, Dragon, P.E.K.K.A will not bother you too much when playing this deck.

Woo hoo! Golem deck now isn’t absolutely hard countered by P.E.K.K.A.

Clash Royale Night WitchNight Witch

Despite being killed off by Supercell, she is still a staple in almost every single beatdown deck.

Why? Despite her DPS taking a huge nerf, the Bats still stack!

The Golem’s incredibly high HP pool will allow her to have more time to spawn these Bats, which will DPS down defensive troops and kill most of coutnerpushes.

She synergizes well with Graveyard in general.

Clash Royale Mini P.E.K.K.AMini P.E.K.K.A

I initially had Goblins here but I find despite the cost, Mini P.E.K.K.A functions really well! Especially with his relatively recent buff.

When you drop a Collector, having Mini P.E.K.K.A in cycle will help you far more than Goblins as Goblins can be Logged .

I would change Mini P.E.K.K.A to Goblins if I want a fast cycle however this is the version I played most matches with.

Clash Royale elixir collectorElixir Collector

Like any other Golem deck, or most heavy beatdown. Elixir Collector is a must-have in these decks.

You will need the Elixir flowing for your ideal pushes.

In this case is something along the lines of, Golem+ Night Witch+ Graveyard+ Poison which is 21 elixir!

Play Pump if you can protect it. Don’t play it if your hand is something like Golem, Pump, Poison and Log  with the next one is Mega Minion (can’t deal with Miner).

Clash Royale Mega MinionMega Minion

With a rather good movement speed to be played in beatdown, unlike say a Baby Dragon, Mega Minion is a good and cheap support card.

Can be used to defend right after Pumping up due to the low cost.

Keep in mind that he doesn’t have a LOT of HP so try to get other troops like a Mini P.E.K.K.A, or Night Witch to tank for him.

Clash Royale PoisonPoison

Graveyard needs Poison!

Poison should also be used in other situations too like vs 3 Muskets or even Collectors!

Early on don’t punish rush with Graveyard Poison! You want this deck to be more of a beatdown deck, not like control.

Build your advantages, don’t worry too much about early towers.

Clash Royale The LogThe Log

Now I would not use Zap in this slot for the sole reason tower will retarget to Skeles.

You don’t want that.

The Log is mainly for Barrel as well. You can use Arrows but I would not recommend using Zap.

I use Log because of the 2 cost. Arrows can be advantageous in many situations.

I rely a lot on Golem death clearing most swarm cards for me and or Poison getting value as well.

Clash Royale GraveyardGraveyard

There are pros and cons to the less randomness.

Just a quick tip if facing Valk is to make sure you place it at where the Skeles can spawn on both sides of the tower! Valks radius isn’t unlimited.
graveyard placement

Knowing Valk was in his cycle, I placed Graveyard this so it was not going to be hard countered by her.

General Gameplay

Early game (3:00-2:00)

PUMP UP! I cannot stress this enough.

Within the first minutes, against a skilled opponent, you will not be able to get too much damage on your opponent’s tower.

Just repeatedly cycle Pumps.

If your opponent Pumps up with you, then slowly roll a Golem.

If they rush you, defend then once hit 10 elixir, start a Golem in the back of damaged tower.

Despite 1x elixir, don’t be afraid to start pushes. Just don’t commit to the extent you will in 1x elixir.

Knowing when to Golem is key! I will list out some conditions you should meet before doing so.

When you can play Golem

  1. You have a huge Elixir advantage.
  2. They perhaps just used their win condition, maybe Miner + Bandit and Gobs or Minion push, or even a Hog + something push.
Whichever, just make sure they cannot rush the other lane.
  3. They used cards that require heavy tanking.
Say they rush you with like E-barbs Minions etc and you have Poison, Night Witch, Log, Golem? With maybe Collector next? I would definitely tank with Golem!
  4. You are counterpushing. When you make a positive trade with a defensive play.
  5. You know that their counters are either out of rotation and or you can get rid of them.

Not only Golem, one thing I find with inexperienced players is they don’t know when to play cards like Graveyard either!

I will make it simple and list out some conditions when you can play Graveyard!

When you can play Graveyard

  1. Have enough Elixir for Poison: We don’t want to rekt just because of a simple Bats play. Unless you know that their only counter is out of rotation!
  2. If you know their counters and know you can counter their counters!
If Poison isn’t the 5th card, I would be hesitant to play Graveyard. At this point, try to change your rotation In the game so Graveyard and Poison are almost always beside each other in your cycle!
  3. Their counter is out of cycle. Needless to explain.
  4. You either have a push or a counter push going.
  5. You are up in elixir! – Your opponent has to defend the Golem + support and the Graveyard. Having 4 elixir for the Valkyrie in Graveyard won’t stop the tower from going down so try to make sure you capitalize on your elixir advantages.

giphy

Here this little exchange is sort of an example of following both #3, 4 and 5
His play of the Wizard was the green light to my Graveyard. It paid off as that single counterpush lead to me getting the 1-0 lead!

TL;DR: During the early game, you want to Pump up and defend.

Playing Golem and Graveyard are fine if you have good conditions.

Mid game (2:00- 1:00)

Around this phase of the game, you will ideally have 1-2 Elixir Collectors up!

Get that elixir flowing and roll your Golems over.

I would say having 2-3 Golem pushes by the 1 minute mark would be excellent!

Provided you didn’t suffer massive damage. Try to get as much damage as you can because in the case of a hard counter deck.

For example, vs Exenado with Poison, you don’t want them having the Elixir flowing in 2x elixir to be able to pull that kinda combo off easily!

Just don’t give opponent value, get valuable Poisons and keep on Pumping!

Late game (1:00- end of OT)

Now is when your Pump advantage shines!

Going in with about 2 Elixir Collectors on the board means a guaranteed win for you!

Make smart plays with the surge in elixir and wipe their towers off the map!

Graveyard Poison should be the killer combo. Golem tanks, Night Witch Mega Minion, even Mini P.E.K.K.A behind the Golem will help you take the tower as well as defensive troops down.

I would avoid Pumping up from the moment it hits 1:00 as it takes time for the Pumps to net any real gain in elixir as you would have invested 6 in the Pump itself!

Similar to Miner Poisons in a way. The moment the Golem crosses the bridge, Graveyard Poison is your go-to combo! Take them towers!

Match-ups

Clash Royale Goblin GangLog bait

This was what I faced the most while testing this deck.

You will not have The Log in cycle all the time for the Barrel, that’s something you must note with because it will be very tough to really keep up with their cycle.

Night Witch and Mega Minion would be ideal to deal with Barrel.

One thing they usually do is to overcommit to protect the Princess. Feel free to predict this by not caring about their defense but Poisoning princess+ Tower.

Inferno Tower will almost always kill your Golem but that’s fine! Graveyard + Poison will wreck their towers.

In 2x elixir Log the Gang and they will almost always use Knight in the Graveyard.

It’s not a difficult match-up, just play smart early game and don’t ever Pump up behind the tower!

Also in 1-1 situations, you can use Night Witch in pocket to distract Inferno Tower! This works very well!

Clash Royale P.E.K.K.AP.E.K.K.A Miner

Tough match-up, not going to lie.

However not undefeatable.

You want them to Poison your Pump, if Poison is out of cycle then you are fine. Even if your Golem dies.

You will have to rely on Night Witch to kill the P.E.K.K.A. Mini P.E.K.K.A will die to her really fast so Mini P.E.K.K.A behind a Golem!

Ideally, use Mini P.E.K.K.A on Miner and or Bandit, Log should be saved for Gobs etc, get good Poisons killing E-wiz if you can!

Clash Royale Lava HoundLavaloon

Mega Minion should be used on the Balloon at all times.

Poisoning defensively is kinda needed if you are defending.

Get your Pumps up and you are bound to lose a tower! Just try to keep your Pump behind tower that won’t go down.

Once you get Elixir flowing, it’s an easy win. Poison will wreck their Graveyard defences. Log away the Tombstone and you are home free.

Also Golem same lane as Lava Hound, Golem will tank more plus kill Minions, Gang etc if they defend with them! Unlike the Hound.

Clash Royale Mega KnightMega Knight

Mega Knight usage from what I can tell is going down! You can use Mini P.E.K.K.A to stop him with ease.

Night Witch works well too! Golem kite works really well too!

It’s not hard to distract him but if get rushed when Pumping up, one thing I must tell you is just don’t overdefend. Damage is inevitable. Try to rather make them pay for overcommitting like that!

Clash Royale Hog RiderHog Rider

You have Mini P.E.K.K.A, Night Witch, Mega Minion. Not too hard of a match-up. Don’t let them take your tower early on!

They usually cycle really fast and will be able to shut you down.

Get good Poisons paired up with your Graveyard and you are gold! Easy win!

Just don’t Pump up unless you got solid defensive cards!

Conclusion

I think this wraps it all up guys, I had a lot of fun playing this deck and success too.

Hope you guys enjoy playing it and get those W’s in the Arena. Ciao.

Immortal X-Bow Deck That Got Me To Master League!

183
x-bow deck

Hello guys, Trainer Rain™ from EN Octans here and I will be talking about my favorite X-bow deck that stays consistent throughout the meta.

I have gotten to 4923 with this deck and I hope to help you push up as high as you can. X-Bow is a great choice because it is a defensive heavy deck and can sometimes force your opponent to spend extra elixir when trying to shut it down.

On ladder, or 1v1, you tend to matchup against higher level opponents and it can be a struggle if your cards are a fairly low level because the high level of the arena tower can easily shut down the pushes that you make.

With X-bow, a card that stays on your side of the map, this is not an issue because the x-bow whittles away at the tower safely without getting targeted.

Immortal X-Bow Deck

Clash Royale X-BowX-Bow

The win condition of the deck (obviously).

As long as it is a decent level for the trophy range that you are in, the X-bow shouldn’t die out too fast!

Clash Royale Inferno TowerInferno Tower

The main tank killer.

With Mega Knight, P.E.K.K.A, Golem, and Lavahound extremely popular in any meta, this building takes care of those huge tanks like a breeze!

Clash Royale The LogThe Log

This cheap 2 elixir spell is very versatile especially against Goblin Gang and Goblin Barrel being used a lot.

The unique push-back effect is also helpful when you are trying to keep off any troop from shutting down the x-bow.

Clash Royale KnightKnight

The Knight is a great mini tank when paired up with the X-bow because it is so cheap and easy to cycle and his hitpoints is just so worth it for 3 elixir.

The Knight does a better job than the Ice Golem because it attacks instead of just chasing a building.

Clash Royale ArchersArchers

Paired up with the Knight, it can snipe away tanky troops and counters squishy troops like Goblins, Minions, and even the Skeleton Army exceptionally well.

Archers will help defend the X-Bow from air troops as one of the only 2 cards that can hit air in this deck.

Clash Royale Ice SpiritIce Spirit

The Ice Spirit is only 1 Elixir, which is key because it can help you cycle out through a bad hand,  back to the X-Bow more easily, or out-cycle your opponent’s counters to the X-Bow.

It synergizes well with Archers as well when up against a Valkyrie, Lumberjack, Minion Horde, or a Knight.

Clash Royale fireballFireball

The Fireball is a very useful in any X-Bow deck because it can quickly shut down high DPS units like Musketeer, The Witch, and Minion Horde.

The Fireball is also important when you have done enough damage to spell cycle the Tower down to win the game.

Clash Royale Electro WizardElectro Wizard

The Electro Wizard is the second Legendary in this deck and does so much because of this defensive based deck.

With the spawn damage of the Electro Wizard, it can really come in clutch when defending your X-Bow and your Tower from Minions, Archers, or Goblins.

Substitutions

Clash Royale Electro Wizardekf9WOpClash Royale Mega Minion

Clash Royale The Logekf9WOpClash Royale Zap

If you are somewhat fresh into the game or still don’t have these 2 Legendaries unlocked, then I would suggest bringing Zap for the Log and Mega Minion for the Electro Wizard.

The Zap can still provide a similar damage output as the Log and also has a stun effect that is also similar to the Log.

The Mega Minion provides more damage than the Electro Wizard which can help out a lot on defense.

x bow placements 1

Strategy

Now that you know what the cards are and how the cards of the deck works, I will provide some general tips and some matchups.

Never Overcommit on your 1st X-Bow

Overcommitting on your first X-Bow can easily lead you to 0 Elixir, getting your Tower destroyed within the first minute.

This can definitely ruin the game because with X-Bow, you want the game to only go to 1 Tower only.

Know when to stop defending the X-Bow

Defending the X-Bow is the only way that you will ever get any Tower damage but there are times you should stop defending it and save up for defending your own Tower.

Typically you always want to put something to help attack the opponent’s troops but you should think about backing off whenever you see a tank like a P.E.K.K.A  or a Mega Knight placed right on your Tower.

This is because they can easily destroy anything you place.

Instead, either try to pull it around with the Knight or the Archers or use the Inferno Tower to help shut it down.

The most important thing to do is to NEVER PLACE ANYTHING TO BLOCK THE X-BOW BEFORE YOUR OPPONENT PLACES ANYTHING TO BLOCK IT.

You never want to be down more Elixir than you need to be.

Placing the X-Bow is 6 Elixir itself and placing more troops that might do nothing can make your Elixir bar drop even further.

How to start the game?

You never want to start off with just an X-Bow because if your opponents have a Golem or a P.E.K.K.A then you would be down a lot of Elixir. Then, your opponents can just add more troops after killing the X-Bow to take down your Tower.

A better way to start off the game would be to cycle cards like the Knight, Archers, or Ice Spirit in the back so you can play the X-Bow immediately when your opponents drop the big tanks at the back.

Know when to punish/play aggressively

Knowing when to punish with such a deadly card like the X-Bow can be the deciding factor between winning and losing.

A great example of this is when your opponent places a Giant down in the back of his king Tower.

Normally, you would think of placing troops on the same side and try to defend the Giant; but with X-Bow it is much more different.

The best way to punish is to drop the X-Bow down on the opposite lane whenever they start off with that tank at the back.

This way, you can force your opponent to

  1. Split Elixir to defend the X-Bow
  2. Take Tower damage and possibly lose the Tower.

I do recommend going more aggressive with the X-Bow if this happens because you always have that Inferno Tower to lean on.

That being said, make sure you have enough Elixir to play the Inferno Tower or else you might trade towers, which again, is very bad for X-Bow users.

Punishing can often lead to throwing your opponent off, spending extra Elixir they needed for a push and end up dying out.

Knowing how to use your 2 spells

This generally isn’t a huge issue but it is a good thing to know.

You normally want to save your Log/Zap for the low-HP card(s) that deal the most damage.

For example, if your opponent is running a Goblin Gang and Goblin Barrel, you should probably save the Log/Zap for the Barrel because it is directly on the Tower and can deal massive damage. Meanwhile, if you are facing the Goblin Gang, you can use other cards like the Archers or Knight to prevent any damage.

The Fireball is also very important to know how to use. You are going to use this spell on different things depending on the matchup.

In one game you might use the Fireball primarily on a Mega Minion but if you are about to do that and your opponent has 3 Musketeers, they can easily overrun you if you are caught without the Fireball.

Knowing when to go for the win and when to play for a draw.

The last thing I want to cover is knowing when you should switch between going from all out aggressive to a more defensive relaxed game.

Being a good X-Bow player requires you to foresee the game and know that sometimes, you should just play it out for a draw instead of trying to go for a win and end up losing.

If you have a bad deck matchup against an opponent it wouldn’t be the worst thing to play a defensive X-Bow so you have that extra layer of defense.

A good example of this would be if you are playing against a Royal Giant.

If you play the X-Bow at the bridge, the Royal Giant can easily snipe away at the X-Bow while tanking all of the damage.

However, if you play a defensive X-Bow, you would have the X-Bow, your Tower(s) and additional troops to help shut the Royal Giant down.

If your opponent over commits and you feel confident that you can punish well, then go for it; but 9 out of 10 times, the game will usually end out in a draw.

Going for the win is also a key thing to learn while playing this deck.

If the Tower you are going for is around 1000 HP or lower, place that X-Bow in the center for defense and try to cycle Fireballs onto the Tower.

Be careful not to spend too much Elixir or else you will lose the game.

If you are not comfortable with playing that defensive X-Bow, just cycle cards in the back on whatever side your opponent is going for and try to get those fireballs in once it is Double Elixir.

These are pretty much all of the basics to playing this X-Bow deck.

A few last things to note is to always try to adapt based on whatever type of deck you are facing! Always save up Elixir whenever you go for a push, and don’t be afraid to use your spells when finishing off a Tower.

With this low average Elixir cost deck, you should be able to defend and set up another push very quickly.

Lastly, remember that you should practice the deck a lot before giving up on it, X-Bow does take a lot of skill despite many people saying otherwise.

I hope that this deck does you well and helps you push up to a new personal best!!  I wish you all the best of luck in the arena and most importantly have fun!
