Tips for Players Who Are Getting Stuck

getting stuck in clash royale

I have seen lots of players who are getting stuck in low Arenas, especially Arena 4. Instead of complaining about everything else, I want to share with you some great tips hoping you can make it better!

Top Tips for Players Who Are Getting Stuck in Clash Royale

I am Kovalevy and I am currently in Arena 8 as a level 9 player. My best trophy record is 3403 and my favorite decks are the low cost ones. I consider myself as a Hog Rider player before but I have been switching to Miner + Mini P.E.K.K.A lately, with lots of good results. My commons are still level 8, Rares are level 5-7 and Epics are 2-3.

  • The higher level cards you have, the easier your battle is. Try to join an active Clan that requests cards and donates a lot. Join our Clan Recruitment Group If you haven’t, you can easily find lots of great Clans there. You should focus on no more than 2 decks, keep requesting cards for your decks. Focus on upgrading a certain card before switching to the others. When I was in Arena 5, I requested Hog Rider only and took the advantage of what high level Hog can do.
  • I strongly recommend reading this guide in order to know how to choose the best cards to upgrade! You “should” focus on your Commons, they are better than Epics. You can make a deck of 8 Commons but it’s very hard to make a deck of more than 2 Epics.
  • In the current meta, your Deck’s Average Elixir Cost shouldn’t be more than 3.5. If it’s more than 3.5, make sure you also use an Elixir Collector in your Deck. Also, you should have at least 1 building targeting card in your deck, such as Giant, Royal Giant, Hog Rider, Miner, Goblin Barrel,… otherwise you will find it hard at destroying your opponent’s Tower (although I have seen lots of great decks which don’t have building targeting troop, such as this one). Honestly, it’s much easier when you have a unit that loves buildings.
  • Be patient, don’t rush, learn the game. Don’t spam your cards when you have enough Elixir for them. If your opponent is smart, he can always counter your attacks with less Elixir and make the counter push right after that.

Here are some basic examples for you: (for more details please learn how to counter push and take the Elixir advantage!)

Distracting: If your opponent’s Mini P.E.K.K.A is running towards your Tower, use your Skeletons to distract and prevent it from destroying your Tower.

Pulling: When the opponent’s Hog Rider running towards your Tower, place your Inferno Tower down in the middle to pull the Hog Rider and kill it.

Sniping: A Knight is coming down your way and being followed by Archers. drop your Mini P.E.K.K.A right on those Archers to snipe them.

  • Reading guides on Clash Royale Arena is definitely one of the best ways to improve your skills. Also, watching replays from top players is a great way to learn new tricks. Don’t forget to watching your replays everyday to see your obvious mistakes.
  • Always try to fight in your side of the Arena. With the help from Arena Towers, you can win the fight much easier.
  • Skeletons is the best cards in Clash Royale. This is hands down, no matter If you have Legendary or not. Why? Please take a look at this in-depth post of top 10 cards in game.
  • Last but not least, stay calm, never over commit! If you are level 9 and still getting stuck in Arena 7, this is probably your biggest reason.

This is my Hog Rider deck I used before to push to Arena 8. Actually I strongly believe that it works in every Arena so just give it a try If you like Hog Rider!

Small note: If you usually face Hog Riders, always prefer your Barbarians over Cannon because you will get a 5 Elixir counter push of full HP Barbarians right after defending.

Okay thank you very much for reading guys! I hope you have found my tips helpful!

How to use Fire Spirits Properly – In-depth Guide

130
Fire Spirits Clash Royale

In Clash Royale, Fire Spirits is an outstanding cards with low Elixir cost and can target both air and ground units. Added in the last update, Fire Spirits were a brand new card with a unique mechanic. They kill themselves! While technically troops, their function is comparable to spells and have even earned the title “pseudo-spells” from various users. Their innate uniqueness and incredible cuteness seems like enough to win over the hearts of the Clash Royale player-base, right? Wrong! Let’s take a look to see how to use it properly guys! Thanks RotomGuy for sharing these tips at here.

Clash Royale Fire Spirits

Clash Royale Fire Spirits In-Depth Guide

Summary

Clash Royale Fire Spirits

Fire Spirits are, as you probably know, Kamikaze units. Like other ranged units, Fire Spirits have a range at which they can shoot their projectiles. However, they are the projectiles! They fire one big fireball and then die.

At Tournament Levels (9), Fire Spirits have 91 HP each and deal 169 area damage each. This means that the opponent’s towers cannot kill them in one hit! But HP is not really the most important factor here, since your Fire Spirits should rarely receive damage anyway. The only way they should be dying is suicide!

As such, what we want to pay attention to here is the damage. At 169 damage each, they are essentially a Level 9 Wizard Fireball each. We all know Wizard Fireballs hurt, especially at Level 9. So imagine 3 of them, in quick succession.

Fire Spirits are the best AoE cards in the game taking Elixir Cost and Damage into account, the only thing you need to do is get them to their destination alive.

Level HP Damage
1 43 80
2 47 88
3 52 96
4 57 106
5 62 116
6 68 128
7 75 140
8 82 154
9 91 169
10 100 186
11 110 204
12 120 224
13 132 247

Strategy

Defensive Spirits

Most likely, you all know about the defensive capabilities for Fire Spirits. However, using them in a way to reach these capabilities isn’t always easy.

Minions & Minion Hordes

These two cards are basic aerial units with low HP. But despite their weaknesses, they are easily one of the most widely used cards in the entire game. Arrows are a well-known hard counter to both, but not every deck uses Arrows. Plus, Arrow Bait decks can waste your arrows allowing the Minion Horde to wreak havoc on your towers.

Fear not, Fire Spirits are here. Fire Spirits are an even harder counter to these two cards than Arrows are. Coming off with a +1 Elixir trade against the former and a +3 Elixir trade against the latter, they work even better than Arrows do. Simply place the Fire Spirits far enough out of reach so that the Minions won’t reach them before their 1 second placement time is up and watch the entire Horde all die, or survive with enough HP to be one-shot by the towers.

Barbarians

Barbarians are also incredibly common cards. They can stand up to a decent amount of pain and together, they can do big damage if left alone. AoE is of course the best method of taking them out, and who did I say were the best AoE cards in the game? Fire Spirits do major damage to Barbarians leaving them with enough HP to survive, at max, 2 tower hits. That’s a +3 Elixir trade.

Placing Fire Spirits against Barbs can be tricky though, as the group can organize themselves oddly. If they’re in their usual square formation, placing Fire Spirits nearby is easy. However, by placing Barbs behind the tower, it causes them to walk in a line. Placing Fire Spirits in front of this line is ineffective as it’ll only damage the first two Barbarians. Instead, Fire Spirits should be placed to the side of the queue so that they’ll run into the 2nd and 3rd Barbarians, often damaging the entire line.

Goblins, Spear Goblins, Archers

When they reach your side of the arena, it is almost always with another stronger troop, like Hog or Valkyrie. As such, Fire Spirits are a very good choice for taking them out while they’re together in a group. The Fire Spirits will kill them and deal significant damage to the troop they were together with.

Skeletons, Skeleton Army, Guards

Fire Spirits should be placed out of range so that they can spawn without dying, and then go on to wipe out all the precious calcium. Guards included. The first two should destroy the shields and the last one should kill the spoopy skeletons hiding beneath.

Goblin Barrel

Goblin Barrel is a rare card but Fire Spirits are a hard counter. If the Goblins are bunched up in one place, one Spirit will kill all 3. But if the card is playing correctly and the Goblins are each on different sides, the Spirits will abandon their usual jump-even-if-one-of-my-brothers-is-going-to-kill-anyway mindset and each go for a separate goblin.

Balloon

Balloons can be panic-inducing since they’re usually played behind a bigger unit or when the opponent has realized you don’t have much Elixir to stop a Balloon push. Well, with Fire Spirits being so beautifully cheap, the latter should almost never occur unless they aren’t in your line-up. Fire Spirits take a huge chunk out of a Balloon’s HP. No other troop can do this much damage to a Balloon this quickly for such a low cost.

Witch, Wizard, Bomber, Baby Dragon

Now we’re getting into the territory of the troops you probably shouldn’t be playing Fire Spirits against, but if you must, this is how. These are all ranged AoE units, the defensive Fire Spirit’s worst nightmare. The best way to allow Fire Spirits to get a hit in is by distracting them with another cheap troop. While this will cost more than just 2 Elixir, Fire Spirits do tear into the HP bars of all of these troops allowing to be taken out by a tower before they do too much harm.

Prince

While Fire Spirits are nowhere near a counter to the Prince, playing them well can hugely decrease the amount of damage a Prince can do if you can’t stop them with anything else. When a Prince is charging, place Fire Spirits toward the middle of the arena so that the Prince will reach them before the 1 second placement time is up. The Prince will use up his charge damage on one and by the time he can attack again, the other two will be awake and will have dealt good damage to the Prince. The Fire Spirits should be placed so that the Prince’s walk back to the tower is not long enough for him to attempt another charge.

Musketeer, Three Musketeers

Fire Spirits can hurt a Musketeer and can hurt all three Musketeers but they aren’t optimal counters since the Musketeers outrange the Spirits and kill them before they can even spawn. As above, a distraction is necessary.

Every Other Troop

Unfortunately, the larger troops like Giant, Golem, PEKKA, etc. can shake off a Fire Spirit’s damage rather easily. It is more advisable to use a troop/building that can draw the troop away from your tower and/or deal constant damage rather than use Fire Spirits.

Offensive Fire Spirits

“F** you!”

No, not that kind of offensive! Though, it is an easy mistake to make since using Fire Spirits offensively is quite rare. However, using Fire Spirits on the offensive is surprisingly strong.

Singular Spirits

At Tournament Levels, Fire Spirits are strong enough to survive a hit from a tower with one HP to spare. As such, placing them alone down a lane means that at least one can get to the opponent’s tower if they play nothing. This isn’t exactly a fantastic use of Fire Spirits though since it is better to play them in other ways.

However, if all the action is going down in one lane, this can be used to get a cheap 170 damage on the other tower.

Skeletons and Spirits: Undead Combo

Almost exactly the same as the above tactic, however you will instead place skeletons first and put Spirits immediately behind the Skeletons. Both will be placed just before a bridge.

Despite being basically the same as Singular Spirits, for one more Elixir, the skeletons will absorb all the damage and let all 3 Spirits hit the tower for 510 free damage. For me, at least, the opponent rarely places any troops to stop such a push, instead assuming that the tower will get the job done.

Despite the low cost of this tactic, it is easy to stop with a Valkyrie, Arrows, or even Zap for a +1 Elixir trade to them.

Spirit Chauffeur

While the Skeletons do make an effective damage shield for the Spirits, it’s not surprising that mini-tanks like Knight and Valkyrie do the job better. However, this one works slightly differently since both components are equal. While the shield troop’s primary function is to absorb tower damage for the Spirits and let them hit the tower, it can work on the inverse. If a troop if placed to try and stop the mini-tank, the Spirits will attack them and dig into their HP bar, letting the mini-tank take them out and go on to deal damage of their own. Another great thing about this push is that the Fire Spirit’s high speed causes them to push the mini-tank toward the tower quicker than they usually walk.

Dealing with this push can be tricky since each troop defends the other depending on what is placed to counter it. Defensive buildings however can thwart this push.

Behind Me

Tanks like Giants and PEKKAs are at the mercy of smaller troops such as Goblins, Barbarians and Minions. Many carry Arrows and Fireballs to stop them but cards like the loathsome Minion Horde can inflict serious damage before the arrows even reach them. However, placing Fire Spirits behind a tank before they cross the bridge is essentially an automatic Fireball-Arrow hybrid that hits in less than a second rather than waiting for you to react and shoot. Wiping out Goblins and Minions and seriously injuring Barbarians, Fire Spirits behind a tank are very effective.

And that there, is a guide on how to use Fire Spirits. For anyone questioning their offensive or even questioning their defensive capabilities, I encourage you to read this post and re-consider. Fire Spirits are such a cute card and i’d hate for them to go un-used just because people didn’t know how to play them properly.

Okay so that is the intro of our new card today. Do you like it? I hope we can see a lot of strategies in the future utilizing this awesome card! Stay tuned guys! More guides about the new cards will be released soon!

Clash Royale September Update – Balance Changes

57
clash royale september update balance changes

As usual, in order to keep the game more and more balanced, Supercell is going to release couples of balance changes for some underused cards in Clash Royale in this September update! Also, the dominating cards – Giant and Lumberjack are going to get some nerfs. Let’s take a look my friends!

clash royale september update balance changes

Clash Royale September Update – Balance Changes

Giant’s damage decreased by 5%

Due to the fact that Giant Poison is extremely popular in the current meta game, this change was expected. This nerf will absolutely take a small amount of power from his big fists. His main role in the game is to soak up damage.

Rage Elixir cost decreased from 3 to 2, duration decreased by 2s, effect decreased from 40% to 30%

Since the Lumberjack got released, Rage hasn’t seen much in the game. This is a big update which fully changes the Rage. Decreasing its cost to only 2 Elixir makes Rage much more viable. Can’t wait to see tons of funny combos revolving around card!

Lumberjack’s Rage effect decreased from 40% to 30%, Rage duration decreased by 2s

This changes for consistency with the Rage’s changes above.

Mirror now mirrors cards to 1 level higher than its own level

This is such a huge buff for the Mirror. Mirror is one of the most underused cards in Clash Royale. This surprising change will definitely bring Mirror into our game much better. At Tournament card levels, Mirror will bring some insane surprise elements for your decks, making your cards 1 level higher than the cap.

Lightning now has the stun effect like Zap, stuns targets for 0.5s

You know that? Now we can use Lightning to reset Sparky, Inferno Tower, Royal Giant, Double Prince and even reduces Elixir Collector’s Elixir. Awesome! Can’t wait to face Lightning in the Arena!

The Log now knocks back ALL ground troops

Wow seems like Supercell really want to for people to use The Log. Congrats If you have The Log in your Collection!

Bomber HP decreased by 2%, damage increased by 2%

This is a small changes which fixes some inconsistencies with card interactions at certain levels.

Okay guys, what do you think about these changes? Please share your opinions!

Emote Mute Option is Coming in Clash Royale September Update

16

Couples of months ago, as we all know, Supercell stated that they would never add an option to mute emotes in Clash Royale. Luckily, seems like Supercell has changed their mind, they are revising their approach!

Clash Royale Emote

Gif shared by isakkeyten

In the upcoming update, Clash Royale players will be able to mute their opponents during the battle. In order to make the game not like an offline video game, players will still can see opponents trying to communicate but without any specific.

Emoticons were built for making for game more fun and for knowing the difference between bad cards and good cards but most players are really upset because of them.

Moreover, seems like Supercell will remake the emote system in game to make it more collectible and desirable. I just can’t wait to see them in the future!

Clash Royale July Balancing Update

1
New Clash of Clans Update

Okay guys so Supercell is going to release a new Clash Royale balancing update on July 4th 2016. Let’s take a closer look to see what we are going to get in this new update guys!

Clash Royale Update

Clash Royale Balance Changes – July Update

Skeleton Army: Skeleton count increased from 20 to 21

Okay so finally we found the fourth one from Skeletons! He joined the Skeleton Army! Such a nice guy!

Goblin Barrel: Removed impact damage; Elixir cost decreased from 4 to 3, Goblin deploy time increased from 1s to 1.2s

As we all know, last time, Supercell decreased Goblin deploy time from 1.2s to 1s but it didn’t really hit the mark. As a result, 3 Elixir puts this card on par with the Miner! Let’s see lots of interesting attacks from these guys in the future!

Giant Skeleton: Damage increased by 20%

Of course, this is just his “damage”, not the bomb’s damage. Hopefully after this update, Giant Skeleton will make it to the opponent’s Tower easier. He can easily 1 hit Goblin now.

Dark Prince: Damage increased by 8%

Dark Prince should have his value in line with his brother, the Prince.

Bomber: Damage increased by 9%

Bomber userate in Clash Royale is pretty low. Hopefully the extra damage will make him a bit more deadly.

Wizard attack speed increase from 1.7s to 1.6s

A faster attack speed will make the Wizard’s value in line with his brother, the Ice Wizard.

Inferno Tower HP increased by 6%

In the upcoming update, both Zap and Freeze will reset Inferno Tower’s damage. So that’s why we have this balance change.

Elixir Collector now gets affected by effects from Poison, Freeze, Rage, Zap and Ice Wizard.

The Elixir Collector userate is still very high. It hasn’t been affected by effects from other cards. This change will tone the Elixir Collector down a bit.

Tombstone HP increased by 9%

As a 3 Elixir defensive building, the Tombstone has a pretty tough competition. Extra HP will make it a bit more appealing alternative to the Cannon.

Bomb Tower HP increased by 6%

Bomb Tower’s userate is extremely low at top, but it shows a pretty good job in low to mid Arenas. Hopefully some extra HP will make it more interesting in high Arenas.

What do you think about Clash Royale update guys? Please share your opinions!
